Saw Nautifish at the BPS Spring Show. She's doing fine. She had taken over the WFN mike and appeared to be auditioning for a new position. I think you might see her in some WFN cameos. She said Rich was head over heels in love. I think that's great, but kind of funny at the same time, given some of his comments here about the other sex. Saw GMan and DWC67 in the store a few weeks ago too. Sure miss Gavin's reports.

Already putting money away to line TEP & Robin's pockets. Ron, which one of them was selling the "Cupcake Bait"? Had a chat with Gord Pyzer at BPS yesterday and he got me all wound up in anticipation of another great presentatioon by him! I could listen to that man all day. Looking forward to meeting more of the OFC Community as well!

Trying to spend that gift card already eh girl The Pete Maina's aren't on sale in the flyer, but I know they went on sale last year so maybe they will again soon. I'll let you know if I see them.

Now that makes my day. Maybe helps explain why I love to drive 100 km on Saturdays just to be in the store. BPS is an awesome store, but what makes it magic is the people that work there, and that all starts at the top. George was continually talking to me about the Tyler event, he was very tuned in. They really do put a lot back into the industry. My real job is at Dofasco where our slogan is "Our Product is Steel, our Strength is People". I can honestly say that that applies to BPS as well from the Management team right down to all the great folks in the Fishing Dept. it is a great team environment to work in. The same principles apply here, where this OFC community's strength is in its wonderful people and none more deserving than Maureen. Congratulations Maureen, you really deserve it and I along with the other members are so proud of you. Hope to see you in the store soon to help you spend that gift card!

Go to Sportsman Show and check out the movie from 1954. A little corny, but it makes you realize that they had way more to offer over 50 years ago. I remember going as a kid and there would be a whole building for the resort operators (in fact I still remember that from 25-30 years ago), a whole building for vendors, the upstairs would contain more vendors, and the dogs ran every night and they could maintain large crowds for 10 days. Lots of great memories, but sadly, it is only a shadow of itself.

Matt, I know that they were getting more truckloads in all week long to replenish supplies. Don't know if they will be getting any more Mania baits. Saturday morning that bin was loaded. It was pretty much gone by noon. I was lucky enough to pick a couple up.

My condolences Vance. May you be comforted by the many memories you shared. Remember, he will still be with you on the water.

Actually in Springfield Missourri they do have a guy in the aquarium with a tank hand feeding the fish. The one water tank (they have 7 different water themes) actually goes below floor level and they have a theatre like room below where they have seminars for kids (and adults) about the fish in the tank and also bring out local reptiles. I usually work Saturdays, but also the odd Sunday (both days this weekend). They actually pay me to talk fishing with people It doesn't get much better than that! And yes they DO price match and will also match NO TAX on identical items. Also, the way I understand it (I might be wrong, but I don't think so), if a competitor has an item with NO TAX and BPS carries the same identical item, they will do the NO TAX even if BPS' price is cheaper to begin with!!

I think the lightning rods were put in the back until the sale on Saturday as they were causing too much confusion (many people didn't read the ad thoroughly and thought they were already on sale). It looked like they had more than 100, but I would get there first thing as there were a ton of people asking for them last Saturday. Good luck and stop and say hi (confused old guy with a beard in the fishing dept.)
