I saw this post this morning before going to work. Its about all I could think and talk about at Bass Pro today. Finally got to read the words and details. What an awesome trip!! Truly a trip of a lifetime. It will be really hard to duplicate (but fun trying). Marc once again proves what a master he is. Wayne, it made my day seeing you holding those pigs. Those are real keeper photos. I remember all those virgin lures you had when I was up at your place. Did you get to use your own equipment?? Lord knows you've got some of the best unused equipment on the planet Could not have happened to a better guy. Congrats to you also Dano. Looks like maybe you had a good time too One of the best and most gratifying reports ever on OFC. Way to go guys!

If you're looking at the West Arm (which I don't think you would regret) make sure you check out Memquisit Lodge before committing. We have been there the last two years and the cottages are exceptionally clean and well maintained and the hosts are second to none. www.memquisit.com Make sure you download their "Visitor's Guide", excellent information!

I got a patch kit when I was out West (outfitter at Lake Louise). I know they don't have them at BPS, but I've been told that some of the local outdoor stores have them. I was told to try that canoe/kayak place just off the QEW in the Mississauga area (sorry the name escapes me).

Quick thinking Rick and glad to hear you and everyone else is okay. Keep us posted if you find out what the diskhead did in the first place.

Tragic cell phone call about my father

Sounds like your Father was a great man. But, your words said it best. Nothing a man can do more important than raising a good family. Your Family is in my prayers. -
Absolute Beauty Ron!!! Now you can go back to Perch Fishing!

I have fished in and around the hamlet of Trent River (just down from Hastings) and have had good luck with Musky and Largemouth. Welcome to the board.

Fantastic Report Lew. That first scenery shot is a beauty. Oh, by the way, nice fish!! Actually, that is a great tip to remember (moon & sun rise) whether you've previously located fish or not. I gotta rememeber that one. Thanks

I have a Canon IS3 and it is fantastic. About six friends and family have the same camera and all are extremely happy. Its a little over the $200 mark, but well worth it, but I know how hard it is for you to part with your $$$

Good Day Everyone! Thanks for your concern. I am alive and well and have been having a very full summer, just not enough time to post (been lurking whenever I can). The highlights have been 5 days at a cottage on Lake Dalrymple with both my boys and their families. Fishing was a gong show with the 3 Grandkids, but they didn't want to leave which was the main goal. That was followed up by my 32nd Annual Bass Classic at Lake W. 5 days with 17 good buddies and also highlighted later in the week introducing my 4 year old Grandson to my favourite place in the world. Had a great weekend in July with my wife at Lake W. and followed that up with a long weekend with my son and my two Grand Daughters (6 & 9), introducing them to Papa's Lake. They're girly girls, but were already asking on Day 2 if they could come back next year..................YES!!! Between that and Toonie tournies, three Bass Pro Associate Tournaments, and working weekends in the store, its been very busy. I was off to Lake W. again late in August, and just got back from 5 days at a timeshare cottage on Sparrow Lake with the Grandkids again (Its Jack Sparrow lake to them) and then 5 days on the West Arm of Nipissing at Memquisit Lodge for our FishGuts weekend (12 guys). I also had an opportunity to fly out to Edmonton on Aug. 2 and drive back through Jasper, Banff, Glacier National Park, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Jackson Hole, Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Mountain and Field of Dreams with my older brother (in only 8 days!!) which is something we've been wanting to do for years and was one of the best weeks of my life. I've had the new boat in the water 38 days already and put 6000 km on the trailer. The boat has been awesome! Everything I was hoping for and more. I was hoping to get mid 40 mph with the 75 4- stroke, but only get about 38-39 which is still fast enough for me. I hope to put up a few posts with a million pictures when I get the time. Thanks again for your concern. Regards, Roger

Ahhhh! I've been waiting for this one. What a great report and awesome pictures. Really captures the flavour of the trip. Great idea about the Journal. I should have been doing that years ago. You're getting me all pumped! 19 days to go until the FishGuts Fall Classic, 12 guys (including my brother and my two sons). Fishing, music and a little "Memquisit Tea"! "The FishGuts Fall Classic is just days away, it's a Fisherman's Christmas again!! Fisherman's Christmas But first, my trip home from out west with my brother where hopefully, I will get a chance to rendezvous with DustinK. Hope it works out buddy.

I've been waiting to see this picture for quite some time. I have said it before, but Pam, your work just keeps on getting better!! Very moving Lew. By the way Lew, once you covered up, is that the same shirt that you were wearing in the picture?? I am flying out to Edmonton on Sunday to join my older brother who drove out west two weeks ago and to take a week and drive home with him. This is something we've talked about doing for years. My brother means the same to me as Ed meant to you, and I will be thinking of you and Ed along the way and savour our time together that much more. Be well my friend.
