i dont give a rats arse if its against the grain of this thread....6 pounds of pickeral would be a treat to my palate since i havent had any in years...so i would eat it ALL and not invite anyone over to join me ...recently during the past derby a guy picked one up trolling back into port and i offered him three salmon for his 5ish pounder...he declined ....

consider this how much are you going to use it ....if your doing alot of fishing then there is nothing better then a perfectly balanced rod that can translate the slightest bump or touch from a fish or river bed all the way back from your bait to your butt....but if your a few times a year type of fisherman the added expense of a custom rod isnt worth the effort unless you have money to burn... Any hammer pounds nails like any rod catches fish ...ive adapted my hammering technique to "old " style estwings and my fishing style to St Croix and Fenwick at a fraction of the cost..although i do own 1 custom rod that sees the water only a few times each season because of fishing traffic ....( there are alot of "boe boes" out there that dont appreciate the cost or quality of a rod and feel no remorse when they smash their "daisy mart" rod against yours while fishing out of your waders) unfortunately i know this first hand hence the reason it sees water not as often as i like ...

i have one too but my handle has come off and it is a left handed thread and i cant find the nut for it ...Excellent reel

ya know ..i was just thinking back on the derby i just finished ....and since we are the legislation setters for our sport .....im thinking in order to get your pleasure craft license you MUST successfully pass a practical test of launching your boat ....that in its own would eliminate alot of grief if you cant launch it in a timely fashion...you cant operate it ..

i only wear mine in the spring derbys....full floater suit ....this way they will find my dead frozen carcass adirft with the fishes....when i was a kid i used to be a life gaurd so im quite familiar with water survival...but if the water is too cold there is nothing i can do about hypothermia ...i walways wear my neprene floater when seadooing or water skiing though ...

whistle and go fishin in the morning ....ive been a fan of prine since he was a postman doing the clubs in chicago...

the sauble river is a very productive river ...recent reports of bows being caught in the river( go figure) but if your going out on the lake ...work the 80 to 100 foot depths for salmon good luck

its happened to me more than i care to admit ...the fury of mother nature is one thing but the fury of my wife for doing what i do is no comparison to the elements...so i now "TRY" to lean to the diligent side of safety ..( that means phone on a regular basis to ensure her im ok and hunkered down in a bay or river if i cant make it back to port

you might want to try Pond Mills as well .....this is going back a few years but we used to fish it every day in the summer months as kids and the carp and snapping turtles were a hindrance to the bass fishing we were trying to do ...ahhh the good ole days...i was actually fishing in there when across my transistor radio ...there was an announcement that Elvis was dead...

The Canadian Press TORONTO -- Maple Leaf Foods Inc. is recalling nine wiener products because they may contain traces of the Listeria bacteria. The wieners are produced at a Maple Leaf facility in Hamilton, Ont., under the Hygrade, Shopsy's and Maple Leaf brand names. The company says in a statement there have been no reported illnesses and this is a precautionary measure only. The best-before dates on the recalled products range from Sept. 8 to Sept. 17. The dates, the number for the Hamilton plant "EST. 611" and Line 1 "L1" are on an inkjet stamp located on the edge of the packaging. A listeriosis outbreak last summer that was traced to a Maple Leaf plant in Toronto claimed 22 lives across Canada. Dr. Randall Huffman, the chief food safety officer at Maple Leaf, says in a statement the company is now "ultra-cautious about Listeria." Huffman said the Hamilton plant has a very strong food safety testing and sanitation program and the Listeria bacteria found in random product samples is at very low levels. Maple Leaf says the affected wieners are being removed from inventory and store shelves and being returned to the company. The company also says no other products are affected by the recall.
