Saugeen Shores has several family/pet friendly camping parks.....although your days may be numbered on Lake Huron because of the size of your boat but the saugeen river is flowing year round with great runs in the fall and spring ...... http://www.saugeenshores.ca/ Good Luck in your selection

Depends on the set up your using ....presentation is EVERYTHING if your float fishing ..so i recommend 8 # and reduce from there with a leader .... if your set up is for downrigging ....i run 20 pound but if your talking chucking lures in the river ...straight 8 pound ( you dont want to lose too many lures) Good Luck

sometimes the comments just seem to write themselves Pete......so i wont write them ..welcome aboard... psssst running with a rod in hand is fine unless there is an angry husband chasing you ....but i highly recommend not skipping with scissors.... i couldnt resist either ...

Ive fished Port Albert for 20 years...but the last few years ive not even bothered making the drive due to lack of fish and the fishing pressure on the few that were there ...it is a beautiful area and WAS a very well kept secret making for some great outings for the steelies and salmon runs .... recent declining numbers of fish the past few years in Huron have definatly reflected in the production of the Nine Mile River .... Ive had second hand reports for the Nine Mile from many fisherman the past few years stating that its numbers were extremely lo ...but you might want to confirm with the local steel headers for factual numbers on their lifts ...personally ....i would stick to the larger rivers

one word ....synthetic

yeah some areas your allowed two rods per person ....which in turn puts 4 more lures in the water if you run cheaters off your rods...( derby time everyone does ).. .having spotters in a derby is a good thing but also throws another variable into the mix ...especially if your tolerance for rough water is great and your spotters isnt ....could make for an early day of fishing during prime derby time ...

to be honest ...ive never seen a rainbow that looked like that ....looks more like a cut throat trout to me ,,,,but then again ...ive never caught a bow this time of year in any water system other than the lake where they are returned to chrome.... very pretty fish though ..nice job and Happy Bday

Good fish ...good wildlife...good times... the last salmon in the pics is very stout....but i think the second one is the winner for the day ...im guessing 19 pounds? Coats and sweaters in July....who would have ever thought .. Nice shootin
-
yeah me too as long as the winters were identical to the summer

A spotter is on board a boat to verify that a fish was caught within the derby rules and waters as stated in the terms of the derby...he/she is not an excuse to have another two rods out in the water ...( trust me if people can get away with something ...they will try..) sad but true) Basically he/she is policing the derby entrants which in terms ...to be most effective the spotter shouldnt have any affiliation with the boat he/she is spotting

ITs been about 8 years since i owned a Suzie ...but parts and service were far a few between ...unless its changed the closest to our area was Port Dover on Erie...might want to consider that ... Mine was a very thirsty motor ...Im now 4 stroke on my regular fishing boat and enjoy more money for lures and junk food ...

Nice try Brandon .....got any dump sites locally ??? or set up some bait ...but be careful i think that would still be classified s hunting out of season..

This last spring during the extended rainbow run....there were several beautiful cohos caught in the Sauble river...average size 8-9 pounds...i personally wasnt fortunate enough but was witness to several caught...even one i wish i never seen caught .. Ill explain...was drifting for bows and noticed right in my wake @ ankle deep was a fish...he sat there for several minutes then moved on to the next fishermans wake...i was having a hard time distinguishing his features ( wrong coloured glasses)...i mentioned to the guy beside me to look down and he gracefully tailed the fish ...it was a beautiful coho...much to my surprise he cracked it on the head ...well there were alot of pissed off fisherman that witnessed this making it so uncomfortable for the fisherman ...he grabbed the fish and left.... In 2005 Cohos were in abundance off the kincardine shores....people were mistaking them for bows ...mainly because of the characteristics of the fight ...as opposed to diving hard for the bottom like a chinny they were launching themselves out of the lake several times ...somewhat like scamania...regardless Georgian bay is just up around the bend ...i cant see them not being up in the area by now... the frosted tail tips almost made the call for a bull in the pic....but ...have you ever seen a doe with spikes??? Im sticking to hen as stated before based on the info ...none the less im sure it was a good fight for a bit
