First of all, welcome to the board. Beef Jerky: Get the butcher to slice the meat for you, they don't charge anything to do it and it will save you a lot of work. Inside round is an excellent meat to use. For 4 lbs of meat cut about 3/16 to 1/4" thick 1 cup brown sugar packed 3 cups soy sauce (go buy a jug at national grocers) 1/2 cup liquid smoke 2 TBS pickeling salt (do not use iodized salt) 1/8 to 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (depends on how spicy you like it) Maranade meat for 10 minutes make sure it all gets coated Drain well I use a Ronco dehydrator that I picked up at a garage sale for $10.00 several years ago but you can dry it in the oven. This recipe works well with venison, moose, just about any lean cut of meat. Enjoy

Have you checked to see if xplornet offers high speed wireless in your area? I have been using them for a few years now and am very pleased with their service. If they do, you might want to consider VOIP for your phone and hook your computer up to your TV so you can get your TV through the internet.

What a beautiful tribute! May he live on in your heart until you meet again!

Yes, get the kit. How handy are you? It isn't a difficult job if you are use to working on mechanical things. Get a manual, read it, and make sure you understand it. If you do then you should be good to go.

Two dogs broke through the ice on Pigeon Lake last week, I'm not taking the chance!

What is the maximum current draw?

Well, lets make sure it isn't! Give the authorities time to act and if they don't lets all support Bruce and do something about it!

OH NO And I had an earth shattering post that I was going to put up at 8:30, it would have affected the entire OFC community. Seriously, make it quick guys I am already starting to go into withdrawal and it hasn't even happened yet.

I have to tell you Bruce, I am so proud of you for taking action on this! So many others would have just walked away grumbling and done nothing. Good on you!

I'll even bring some more of those venison pepperetts and a new special treat this year some of my home made venison jerky. Who is going to bring some fresh baked bread?

Go right to the Nintendo site. Nintendo If you order it directly from them you could have it in a few days. I've checked everywhere I can think of around here with no luck. I'll try the pawn shop this afternoon. -
Good for you Bruce for taking action on this I too would be very interested in the outcome. Two summers ago a neighbour got caught raking some weeds in front of his dock so his kids could swim, he got fined $2500.00 because he didn't have a permit to clear the weeds. He was told that he was being let of lightly and that the fine could have been much larger. When we had to repair our shore line last spring we had to get permission from DFO and had to put silt barriers in place, filter cloth to prevent any further errosion and beach rock to insure that the filter cloth couldn't shift. These guys clearly have not taken any steps to prevent damage to the fisheries. This fine could be huge and they could have to pay to return the area to it's previous state.

I have spent a lot of time fishing on Gbay and that would not be my choice either, too small and too open for a family. It might be OK for an experienced boater and one or two passangers. The bow design looks OK and the power ratio sounds good, the package looks like it has been well taken care of and the price sounds reasonable, actually quite good but it just isn't the right package for a family and an operator with limited experience and the Bay.

I was hoping we'd hear from you! OK, only one seat left!

Thanks for posting this John. We did have a wonderful time last year, that is why we decided to do it again this year. Steve runs a wonderful operation and it is worth every penny. I realize that it is on a Friday which might make it a bit harder for some people ( call it a sick day LOL and come catch some big cats with us) we were originally just going to book it for the two of us but we decided to give some other OFNR's a chance to experience those huge cats and have some fun too. It would be wonderful if we could get the crew from last year back but logistics just don't seem to make that possible. A day charter for $140.00 catching big cats (and boy do they fight) with everything supplied but your food and drink. If you don't let John know soon, it will be to late!

I like Lew spent the weekend painting, about 1100 sq ft but after being up and down so much I feel like I could have been right there with you! Boy am I sore today! Glad to hear that you are adjusting so well and that the family has settled in. Cliff

When manufacturers finally realize that bad press travels fast these days because of the internet, mayby they will start to wake up. It use to be one un happy customer cost you a few sales. Today, because of the internet, one unhappy customer can cost you 100's of sales. Terry, I would email head office and explain the situation, I'd include a link to this site, if they have any brains at all they will make sure they do the right thing for you. I'll tell you right now that after I read your experiences with the company I'd be looking at other options if I was in the market. Right now I'm starting to wonder if I made a good choice when I purchased my HDS5. I'll be waiting to see what their response is to you before I suggest any of their products again.

Sadly, one stupid CO can give many a bad name. I was duck hunting a number of years ago with a friend. We returned to our car 10 minutes before case time. There were two CO's standing there. They asked to see our shells, our packs, our guns, our licenses...... They kept us talking for a good 15 minutes then one of them asked me what time it was, I looked at my watch and told him. Then he asked what time case time was, and I told him it was 5 minutes ago and he told me he was going to charge me because my gun wasn't cased. That is when I blew up, If I hadn't been respectful and taken the time to talk to him, my gun would have been cased. I told him to go ahead and charge me because I'd see him in court and make him look like a jerk. He backed down and said he was just going to give me a warning; I insisted that he charge me, I couldn't fight a warning but if I was charged I'd get my day in court. Then the other CO stepped up and said something to the first guy, then a couple of shots went off about a mile or so away, the second CO looked at me, said get it cased and have a nice evening and the two of them left. I hadn't done anything wrong but technically I was in the wrong! Interpretation of the law is something that takes a very wise man to do and sometimes the law has to be tempered with justice. What is fair, what is right, what is proper. That is a lot to ask of any one man, you are basically asking him to sort out truth from lies, right from wrong, and be right 100% of the time. I'm sure glad it's not my job!

Always happy to help Albert! I will put a post in the Members Business Directory regarding products and services. The big difference is that I will now limit the small engine repairs to friends and family at least until I see where this new path will take me. So far so good but it is early yet, I really like my boss, he actually listens to my ideas and is very supportive! It is actually fun to be able to go home at the end of the day and not have to worry about all the stuff that goes along with running a business!
