  1. The North is not really the place to look for a "good" used sled as they get so much use up here compared to down South. If you are looking at used sleds get the seller to agree to let you take it into the dealership for a going over before sealing the deal. An alternative is to purchase used through one of the dealers in town. Probably pay a few bucks more but atleast they have most likely gone over them and may even offer some kind of warranty.
  2. Fine when anchored. Anchor one corner before setting up and then anchor the rest. Eazy, Peazey!!!!!
  3. I have a pair of Rocky's for hunting that are high tops with gortex and 1000gms of thinsulate that are good for that sort of thing.
  4. You mean Buffalo Joe. I actually ran into Mikey at the NHL lockout tour charity game last week.
  5. :rofl2: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/WIHAkqCls4A" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

  8. 8-15 gm. I don't use baby floats any more.
  9. Been making and using my own since the mid 80's.
  10. Please come up here in February as I want to see you spud your way through 5 feet of ice and then sit on a bucket in the open at -40. :rofl2:
  11. Yes, most of the stuff is more than fine. I usually try to stay away from anything with the HT brand name on it though as most of their stuff is pretty cheaply made.
  12. High viz sucks!!!! You end up having to run a shotline between your main line and leader. More places for things to go wrong. I run 12# Raven green main line.
  13. If you're talking about the Mark 5 DSI portable it runs on 8 D cells. Happy? I remove the battery holders and use a 7 AH 12 volt gel cell. Better battery life and the ability to recharge.
  14. Pretty simple, poor judgement!
  15. Yeah, if that were the case my boat would do 75 MPH on premium!!!!
  16. Thanks!!! Seems it didn't go through the first time.
  17. Same goes for any rod with a larger reel. Not nearly as noticible with low profile bass reels. Helps a lot on short ice fishing rods too. Especially when yer goin' after the big ones!!!
  18. I hope the project lead is looking for a new job. The paving contractor needs to be black balled too!!!
  19. What a clown!!!! Notice the resemblance?
  20. Yep ,I sitll have a bunch of Fenwick rigger sticks. The hooksets come from watching too many bass fishing programs.
  21. I've got 4!!!!! I think I may have a hoarding problem!!!!
  22. Yep, best to go East and dig up the Oak Ridges Moraine.
  23. It is quite noticible with larger reels under pressure (ie when fighting a fish). A conventional rod will try to fall over towards the reel handle side due to the torque and top heavy weight of the reel. This issue disapears with a spiral wrap. All of my rigger rods have been spiral wrapped since the earl 90's. It makes a big difference.
