i have fixed them before i took the shield wire from a piece of Coaxial cable and put it over the wires and slide it out of the way solder wires together and taped each wire then slide shielding over the joined wires making sure it is touching the old shield wire or foil whatever was there and tape tightly or shrink wrap

Agreed I change hundreds of belts on machinery. and a belt that has not been running for months can be worst then one running nonstop

mine is unheated garage , I leave them in and only plug them in about 3 times over the winter. never had a problem with them

Outlets or lights near by should be on the same circuit On mine the outside lights and an outlet outside are all on the same circuit along with outlets on the outside wall in the dining room right near the outside lights

I would think it is a connection problem. At an outlet or light near by that feeds it You need to turn the breaker off and see what else turns off th n start checking if they feed that light A multimeter would find the problem pretty quick
