  5. Yes but I lost the other 2 Musky's that were on the other 2 hooks of the lure at boat side. If I had someone with me I could have landed all 3 at once!!! I had this little guy two weekends before as practice landing them solo and figured out the timer thing..... look familiar! Thanks for the kind comments y'all!
  6. All the best for a speedy recovery. Seems like they are two great people.
  7. Heart pumping... more of a pant soiling, when I got my first look as she submarine'd up towards the surface . "What do I do now?" ...Any one, Why is my pic so small?
  8. So boy's weekend at the cottage last weekend. The boy's wanted to go Walleye fishing in the nice cozy boat, and I well, have a lot of money invested in musky over the last few years - I'm going musky fishing, "Who's coming with me?"...... (Insert cricket sounds) . So no one was in my boat for this trip except me and my cradle (FisherPete Styles). Trolled around open water noticing tons of musky boat hitting the shore lines/points hard and all the bait-fisherman were out in 30 FOW. Marked all kinds of open water fish in the middle of nowhere (until my battery died on me). A little after 10 am my rod screams, bent like the Uglystik commercial. "Dang rocks" I say, figuring a ran shallow with my unit being dead. Shut the motor off to remove my snag, pull the rod out of the holder then I feel the headshake and run. Whoo! After reeling in 120' of line and two awesome jumps close to the boat she's in the cradle. 46" fish in a 48" cradle.
  9. Nice haul! That is an odd perch there, shape seems to be that of a small mouth.
  10. 4+lb Crappies, the third one might even be a 7 lber! Gotta love them surface strikes no matter the size.
  11. Great read.....Those dang musky though sometimes.......
  12. I was trolling by myself this past Sunday. I found anytime I put my rod in the holder it seemed to get caught up when I ran shallow or collect floating veg. So I then held the rod in hand, if I ran shallow I would just raise my rod to raise the bait above the structure, as soon as your lure is not running the slightest bit true you can feel it. I also had the ability to steer my line clear of any floating vegetation. The extra action you can put on the lure with rod in hand, jerking then almost then almost pausing the lure. Hold on tight though, the best part is feeling the strike. This also in a 14' tin.
  13. Congrates! Sounds like a $500 trip to BPS!!!! I voted when I could.

  20. I think it would take a lifetime to get the full Lake of the Woods expirence. I had the same thoughts on the way to our Island lodge. Cottage after cottage then the last 5 mins was awww here we are, remoteness. The dark water caught me by surprise also. Seems every spot we tried had a musky. Great report, Great read - Thanks for sharing and making me daydream at work about LOTW.
