  1. Screams and whistles work on my lake lew!
  2. Thanks SD! Looks like Easter wknd just got a little more promising!!
  3. ^^ Makes me think of... "a buddy of mine sent me a pic of the new WR Pike caught from Nipissing by a friend of his uncles neighbour just the other day"...
  4. Neighbour at the cottage had some company up last summer and were having a hard time catching fish. They were after lakers and hadnt had a sniff. I point them to a sweet spot to help them salvage their day and have a bit of fun as there are some large pike that hold there. Well, dont they come back with a 13lb gator! The visitors kid shows up later that day, the old man takes him out and they return with a 15lber OFF THE SAME SPOT!!! The guy then has the nerve to slap me on the shoulder with a good ole " thanks for the honey hole! Youll have to show me your good spot next summer when we come back!" The neighbour approached me after his guests left and apologized for pirating the spot, knowing im all for C+R. But im still vexed about it. My contribution is me. Stupid people that dont know when to keep their mouths shut.
  5. Agree in black.
  6. Thanks for sharing. That was very cool!
  7. Dont know why they dont just ask the OMNR for the virus that decimated the carp in the Kawarthas a few years back.
  8. Try and leave work at work. That gets me by. Doesnt mean you dont care, just that you care when you're there. Not when you aren't. My stress level can often be tied into the last time i got the boat on plane. Which shouldn't be long now...
  9. I'm glad everyone is ok. Going to heed Mom's advice right now.
  10. Laughed my guts off at HTHM! To me, looks like post coldfront. Id feel that there wont be many roaming fish. But would still throw a spinnerbait around out of habit. As tight to the edges as possible. Trim down a 6" worm down to maybe a 4 1/2" on a 1/8oz jighead and drop it around the outside edges and pockets. If that pad bed and dock havent given up a fish, im going thick. Senko rigged weedless and reeled quickly across the top of the pads wont get you a fish alot of times. But it will usually cause one to turn and disturb a pad or two and indicate that the area may be salvageable. Current will also factor in. Clarity, sunken structure, are there baitfish around? Lots of variables...
  11. Awesome job! Thats going to make your time on the water just THAT much more enjoyable! Right on!
  12. I would've thought 5per would've got it done, but good for the agent! Burke and Nonis realize his worth to the second line and, barring his last little hiccup has shown almost exactly the same progress as St. Louis in his first 5 seasons. Hes invaluable to the Leafs and, IMO, is in the top 5 2nd line Centres in the league. Glad to have him aboard.
  13. Posts 13-15 on the last page were what i was referring to with that. Read my previous post. It deals with coaches corner and Players from ON.
  14. Going back about a decade, a buddy of mine took a fully loaded Suick to the back of the head. Problem was too many people in the boat, guy loaded the rod and as he was pitching forward caught the guy all the way to the bend. I wasn't there, but both guys have gotten over it since and laugh about it every now and again. ALWAYS wear glasses!!
  15. As well, don't get too hung up on the RAH-RAH CANADA sentiment. There are 10 Canadian skaters on the Leafs, 8 Americans, 1 Russian , a Swede and a Belarusian.
  16. There are only so many players in the league at a given time. Didnt burke say he wanted to select Tavares that draft? Obviously, he didnt move up that far to pick that ON boy. But... He did pick Kadri, from London ON. Stuart Percy was then taken at the 25th selection in the 2011 draft. Ya, from Oakville ON. In fact, on the Marlies roster, there are no less than 7 players from Ontario on the active roster. I like Don and find his feud with Burke mildly amusing. But plays with the facts to support his position. If those guys were ready to play in the bigs, they would be. Burkes answer to Maclean before the game was the right one.
  17. Burke hires a former associate? Will wonders never cease! That must be a mighty big crystal ball you got there Craig! Wasn't he the guy that denied the Sens a sip from the Cup?
  18. Carlyle sounds like a real media friendly guy.
  19. Gotta say, im all aboard the Eakins bus. He employs the same game plan as Wilson, but can deal with the youth better than Ron can. I think that if another coach comes in, he'll bolt at the first offer. Especially when you consider any incoming coach will have some term on his contract. Eakins may feel, at that point, like he may never get a shot with the blue and white.
  20. He does have a point...
  21. Im just turning the game on. Maybe Burke was really looking toward a lottery pick.
  22. This illustrates how much you like to bash the leafs but have no idea what youre talking about.
  23. Ben Bishop to Ott. Great move by BM. Got a goaltending problem? Fix it. Novel idea, eh, Burkie?
  24. Was really wishing that I woke to the "Wilson fired" heading today. Too bad its not going to happen. I'm starting to get ready to jump onto the Tank Nation bandwagon, keep the youth, package out some vets for picks/prospects. Nash is redundant now, I'd way rather Burke make a huge push for Parise on July 1st.
  25. Two stainless screws coated in caulking will do you just fine.
