I wouldn't say splake are easy to catch. It's pretty easy to get skunked in mid winter. 2 winters ago we had 8 guys out, 16 lines in the water, not one bite and it's a pretty good lake. No fish were caught but it still looks like a great way to spend the day to me.

Does your truck have a digital or analogue odometer? I know with the Ford trucks around that age and older, it was possible to pull the fuse for the instrument cluster, drive it, and not register any kms on the odometer.
