I'm very sorry to hear this Cliff. You've helped me before, if I can do anything, let me know.

Port Severn Accommadation suggestions.
chris.brock replied to Old Ironmaker's topic in General Discussion
I'm guessing you guys fished Port Severn proper back in the 80's so Musky's would be a good choice. Cool place, the only downfall is you can see and hear the highway. -
Yamaha brought back the Snoscoot for 2018 (Leaf Blue too). It's designed for youth but I want to see one in person. It may work as an ice fishing sled. I'm pretty sure it won't work for trail breaking and back lake stuff, the track is 10"x90". https://www.yamahamotorsports.com/youth/models/snoscoot

Mah boy caught his first sturgeon...
chris.brock replied to manitoubass2's topic in General Discussion
That is super cool! I obviously don't target them but I still hope to fluke into jigging one up, hasn't happened yet -
The VKs are still using the 535 fan cooled 2 strokes (I don't know how, I thought the emissions weren't allowed now?). I guess the options are the Tundra Lt, the VK or the Polaris Voyager (I think Joey Tier has this sled). All are around 550 cc, fan 2 strokes. I think the VK is about 2 K more than the others. I wouldn't get a 4 stroke because of weight. It's a big expense, is the old Safari totally toast?

What is Wrong with People.....Updated Good Guys Win
chris.brock replied to FloatnFly's topic in General Discussion
And it continues... On the Algonquin Adventures website, they have a thread "where in Algonquin?" where people post pictures and others guess the spot. I copied this from the thread- Just a brief interjection. A complaint was received about a following "Where In Algonquin?" post. "Hey Barry, or Moderator, someone took a screenshot of Solopaddler's father & son fishing trip video report and posted it in the "Where in Algonquin" in an effort to find his fishing hole. Clever, but a little too greasy for my taste." I've verified that the image was "lifted" from the video in question. The motivation of the poster doesn't appear in keeping with the spirit of the forum. As a result, I've deleted that thread. -
Is it legal to do #1s and #2s in the lake?
chris.brock replied to limeyangler's topic in General Discussion
I saw a buddy do a deep water, swimming aqua dump. It floated up quick. As he swam away he was creating a back eddy and it chased him for a while. -

chris.brock replied to limeyangler's topic in General Discussion
If the water is warm, yes, aqua dumps are an option. Just last week I got caught far from camp. I made an impressive little Inukshuk on an island. Ice fishing a few years ago I got caught far from the cottage. I dropped a bomb in a big flower pot at a vacant cottage, hahahaha -
Sure, why not? Adding more COs comes with adding more trucks, ATVs, boats, snowmobiles etc, it's a big expense. Posting offences online is a deterrent and it's cheap and easy to do.
-
I never thought of that, but yeah, great idea, totally makes sense in this age of social media, why not. I hope an MNR guy or CO is reading this thread. It wouldn't cost much time or money to have the offenders names and offences posted online. There is an MNR busted guys page for Ontario but they only post the big busts.

We have some stuff with a guy from Edward Jones. I haven't totally dissected it all but there seems to be a lot of money going to fees. Long term, realistically, you're shooting for an 8 or hopefully 10 percent return. A 2 or 3 percent suck off in fees is huge.
-
I don't know anything about Hollis but find out about their management fees. High fees can really suck off growth. Using an adviser at one of the big banks will likely save you in fees.

Looks like a tiger muskie, even more impressive.

Thanks guys. Thanks Bunk, it's my nephew Teagan who turned 16 on the trip that's taking all the good pictures. I think I look like a white CeeLo Green.

Tired of empty seats, Senators remove at least 1,500 chairs
chris.brock replied to kickingfrog's topic in General Discussion
What's the logic behind that? I would prefer to drive a little further and into Suburbia and avoid the big city congestion and stress, expensive parking or the Go Train to watch my team. -
Family in Fla. won't evecuate/rant
chris.brock replied to Old Ironmaker's topic in General Discussion
I've got relatives near Clearwater. We can't get a hold of them but I'm not really worried. My wife has been watching CNN. The news has become so sensationalized it's not news it's bull crap. USA garbage TV! That's my rant. -

Marketing ploy. "Hey, lets reduce supply to drive up demand. If demand does go up, we can just remove some tarps." The whole franchise is a bit of an embarrassment to Canada and hockey. -
There's no place like home Bunk, and your home looks like it's in a good place- a good place to fish. Awesome, loved it! I'm curious to see Mike's beat up muskie.

I wouldn't say this is spam, I would say it's market research, at this point, he has nothing to sell. I'm guessing you're not going to actually manufacture anything but just sell stuff with less mark up? Go for it! There's plenty of Ontario success stories in the tackle industry.

Truck purchasing advice regarding torque- NF
chris.brock replied to the spirit of fishing's topic in General Discussion
Are you guys talking eco diesel or cummins? I hear the eco has problems and my buddies new cummins drinks fuel hard and has problems. Just some food for thought- my wife was thinking about a Jetta a few years ago, I did the math and it would have taken 12 years to recoup the extra cost for the TDI in fuel savings. -

I have that engine (Pentastar) in my Jeep. I'd like to see one on the dyno because it doesn't feel anywhere close to the output numbers they are claiming. -
Kenogamissi?

Awesome muskie Bill! The French can be tough but it does cough up some beauties like that one.
