  1. Unless the chain is incredibly obvious, you may want to hang a flag or paint an orange/red spot on some of the links. Don't want someone blasting through in the early morning or late at night and killing themselves.
  2. Is this an april fool's joke posted on the wrong date? Imagine paying a couple of mill for your house and not being allowed to park 2 cars in your driveway. Hilarious, pathetic, and enraging all in one.
  3. Hi Lew. I was looking at floatation suits last night and the salus brand (which is made in KW, btw) apparently has telescopic legs. Not sure how that works, but presumably they might fit better than the one-size-fits-all that tend to err on the tall side. Also, not sure if they make survival suits (vs. float suits, unless that's what you meant) but worth a look - Salus Marine.
  4. I read something about it being in the slime.....and a theory that it was a type of sunscreen/UV protection. Catch them quite frequently on our lake. Just a guess (haven't actually measured) but seem like almost 1/2 are like that....at least a 1/4.
  5. Hope they find him. Be safe out there folks. Water temps are starting to get pretty cold.
  6. i think its a concept....while you hold it out of water, its essentially unable to breathe. And as you pointed out, that's after a big battle. The point is...when you run out of breath after 45 seconds, and you put hte fish back, it's better than holding it out for 3-5 (or 10) minutes.
  7. This is great advice.
  8. and/or not post another fishing report on the site.
  9. btw - i don't mean the hard plastic hose. There is a rubberish hose material used for plumbing pools. Flexible, waterproof, and has a coil built in to the rubber for rigidity. Probably a dollar per foot.
  10. Go to a pool supply store (Pioneer is often cheapest) and pick up 1or 1.5 inch flexible hose....its what they use for aboveground pools. Flexible but has some structure/rigidity.
  11. I wouldn't say its P3TA'ish propoganda. The guy is not saying that we shouldn't kill and eat fish....just that we should do it in way that -- from his perspective - is more humane. I'm not smart enough to know all the differences btwn them and say, us, in terms of brain and neuroligical structure.....but i do know that it is substantially different, and their "experience" on a hook is certainly less cruel than the average reader may think when they read that article. But, he may not know that.
  12. Man - you're zoned right in. Really, really impressive fish.
  13. its in the slime not sure anyone knows why. remember reading a theory that it was a type of sunscreen for them. not really uncommon (at least i don't think). We catch them all the time/
  14. Any recommendations for tires for southwestern ontario city driving. Mostly wet or sometimes slushy pavement, sometimes ice....trips to the cottage (where snow actually sits on the road for more than 2 hrs) every 3 weeks....
  15. Don't bring any food into the tent. If your clothes have food (or fish slime) on them don't bring them in there either. Keep your food locked up, and your cookingware and plates cleaned (ie.dirty dishes left overnight may cause a problem). Like others have said, racoons are more of a nuisance. They're smart as well (have figured out how to open just about every cooler). Have fun!
  16. why not just ask them how the contract is valid with no parental signature? To me the rest is moot.
  17. Did you ask the college of physicians what a "fair" fee is? $500 for a family seems pretty steep.
  18. Some giant fish. Josh - i especially like yours. Its a monster. Think i need to start weighing fish. I always assumed my "giant bass" were 3-3.5 lbs. May have been bigger. Harrison - you must have thought i was a negative ass when in your contest i guessed your 2 fish to weigh 7.7 lbs. Sorry man. Honestly am under guessing weights.
  19. In some communist states you have to pay for everyone else's gym membership as well, whether they use it or not. :-)
  20. Any pics? I would love to see what a 7 lb bass looks like.
  21. Sounds like a good plan. You likely don't need ALL (or even most) of the info. I would also reach out to the ontario college of physicians and surgeons and ask them what a reasonable and fair price is If push comes to shove, you may make a little noise that you were not properly notified (sounds like they are obligated to), especially considering files went to a doctor at a different address (which seems to be an important differentiation for them)
  22. What he said. Though i think wind direction can sometimes dictate WHERE they're feeding (ie....where the wind and waves are pushing bait)
  23. He probably did it so that people don't think you're a moron, JB. He's doing it to HELP you. Besides, he owns the board. Can do what he wants.
  24. so your point of posting was....
  25. Two more things... - while *notes* etc may belong to the physician, i think you might be able to get scans/xrays/etc separately - if they do need to keep your files for 10 yrs, you may want to just give your new doctor a summary of everyone and let the other doctor hold the other ones as backup for 10 yrs. Pay for them (or a portion thereof) only when you need them. If you don't need them, great. If you do, assume it'll be for one patient at a time ($125?)
