  1. +1. I didn't love everything he did, but at least he did what he said he was going to do.
  2. Hilarious. And terrifying.
  3. Isn't that the point? That to protect the guy on big waters in his canoe (where i'd likely choose to wear a jacket), they're proposing a law that woudl force me on my small lake (with NO cigarette boats, or anything close) to wear a jacket? Why most those of us who use common sense be brought down to the level of the least experienced (or dumbest)?
  4. Why under 16 feet? I feel that i'm safer in my canoe or tin tippy on my small water-as-smooth-as-glass lake than in a 16 footer on a bigger lake when i'm at the back fixing a downrigger. Chris
  5. Really sorry about your friend.
  6. a smaller husky jerk, or x rap.
  7. Tackle store is Brushy's. Pond is on the south side of 534, just west of hwy 11. At least i think that's what bowslayer's referring to.
  8. How about people going 70 mph on their sea-doos need to wear a lifejacket, and those of us who are sane have the option to wear one when at risk (and not have to when not). 70 mph!!! You're nuts.
  9. Looks like we're in for yet another new law. Link below, also a video link on that page. Hopefully the gov't doesn't listen. I'm all for children wearing life jackets, or people putting them on when the weather gets nasty, but to be forced to wear one ALL the time.....yikes. http://www.cbc.ca/consumer/story/2010/05/21/life-jackets-boaters-law.html
  10. Yeah, i make a few. Anyway I did edit my post (obviously not before you saw it) but the thing is you preface your story with "sometimes its a really good view". But then i don't know what you mean....so maybe i misunderstood. I'm sure i'm not the only one. Either way, its none of my business so i edited teh post. But i still think no one deserves to be tipped. I don't give a crap whether that's popular with you or not.
  11. kwikfish or flatfish have the best action from that family of baits. (at least for pike).
  12. Fish of a lifetime. That is really, really cool.
  13. Not sure anyone deserves to be tipped.
  14. Can't believe you find that funny.
  15. To me it is OBVIOUSLY an otter. Look at the face and the fur.
  16. Best minnows as well. By far.
  17. Bowman's Bait. BY FAR the best minnows in that area.

Dude, you would be well served to rip one off and then have yourself a beer. Relax, my man...
  19. that bottom one....bobbie bait style?
  20. Amazing craftsmanship. I'm a big fan of that colour, Matt. Good choice. Do you make 10-12 inch versions?
  21. If what they say is true - that the land is contaminated, people are getting sick, and that the land promised was not given.....then these guys have a legitimate complaint. Not sure why everyone is so anti-indian. If there was a country doing what canada did to the natives only 200 yrs ago (only 4 x the lifetimes of many on this board), it could be called Genocide. Something to think about..
  22. Not always. I know there are tuna caught off mexico that don't meet Canada's food requirements for heavy metal. The mercury thing is real (oddly high in some ontario lakes). It has never stopped me from enjoying a meal of fish here and there, but i would be careful if my wife was pregnant.
  23. Which part is crap? That mercury is bad for pregnant women, or that there's mercury in fish and pregnant women should be really careful with what they eat?
  24. There's a high level of mercury in many of ontario's fish. I'd be sure to check that guide, and err on the side of caution. Its good (actually, great) for your wife to get some fish oil (for omega 3 DHA etc, helps build brain tissue amongst other things). My wife picked up some from the drug or health food store....be sure to get the stuff that comes from small fish (anchovies, sardines, etc) as it usually has fewer contaminants.
