  1. The recipe I use is the same as Bly's except I use 2 Tbls of flour and 2 Tbls of cornstarch instead of 4 Tbls of cornstarch, I find it makes it smoother. The whole milk adds a richness to the recipe. Dan
  2. 75 watts might run a charger on a trickle setting (2-3 amps). Perfectly converted 75 watts is 5.4 amps at 14 volts but the 115 volt inverter is probably only rated for 75 watts intermittent use and the charger only 80% efficient. $100 will buy you a 15 watt solar panel but this would only produce about 8 - 10 amp hours a day, it would take a long time to fully re-charge a 80 amp hour battery. Dan
  3. Try it, I have been using a baitcaster for a bit float fishing and it works great, not very photogenic though. Dan
  4. Thanks Steve, one question; when you say the "Small Dipsys on the board 250 and 275 back" can I assume that is back from the planer board? thanks Dan
  5. mudbugs mmmmm.....

  7. 3 more, you go girl!! Dan
  8. For a fur bearing animal you need a trapper's license even to live trap it. The MNR and humane societies do not recommend relocation for several reasons: Most wild animals don't survive relocation Relocation can introduce diseases into new areas Relocation may orphan the young Probably best to leave it alone and not feed it. Dan
  9. All the best for Diane's recovery. Dan
  10. Could you set the controls for some decent weather before you go? Have fun Dan
  11. They don't seem to be affected by the pressure change, let them go and they head right back for the bottom no worse for wear. Been catching them on the Canadian side, once hooked they come out of 20+ feet of water like a Polaris Missile, great fun. Dan
  12. Take 2 extra weeks, for a 2 week round trip you will need to average around 7 hours of driving every day, for 9000 kms that is 100 hours sitting in a car, with kids this is too much time cooped up. Dan
  13. If he got loose in an area he might not be familiar with, leave some of your clothing (unwashed) outside in a few spots, beagles can go for miles and days tracking - but they always come back. Dan
  14. "You have already voted multiple times from this computer for this entry in the last 24 hours." Oops, guess I can't let the family vote all at once. Dan
  15. Try the "Erie drag" with a tube rigged weedless. Get on the upwind side of a reef (usually the wind is out of the west). Cast into the wind, let the bait hit bottom, and let the wind take your boat over the structure. Don't retrieve the bait, just drag it. If the wind is taking you too quickly use a drift sock. You will cover lots of water without burning gas or electricity. Dan
  16. Not sure which 'river' you mean; Head out from Port Maitland, go either west to the Tecumseh Reef or east to Mohawk Island. Keep an eye on the water depth there are a couple spots that shoal up to 2 feet or less more than a mile off shore. Also keep an eye on the weather, Erie blows up fast. Dan
  17. Try Fishing World 2411 Barton Street E. 905-573-2288 Dan
  18. More plainly under the Small Vessel Regulations: POWERS OF ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS 46. An enforcement officer may, in order to verify and ensure compliance with these Regulations, a - go on board a vessel; b - examine a vessel and its equipment; c - require that the owner or the master or other person who is in charge or appears to be in charge of the vessel produce, forthwith, (i) personal identification, and (ii) any licence, document or plate required by these Regulations; and (d) ask any pertinent questions of, and demand all reasonable assistance from, the owner or the master or other person who is in charge or appears to be in charge, of the vessel. Dan
  19. I just re-read the regulations and it appears you don't need a flashlight or flares in a canoe not fitted with a motor - my mistake. However you still need navigation lights or anchor lighting if you are on the water in a canoe at night. Either way we leave a kit attached to the bottom of the rear seat in our canoes. Fishing gear is a rod, reel, hemostats, and a two sided Plano box full of assorted tackle. Dan
  20. The stairs lead to the whirlpool. Dan
  21. Flashlight Dan
  22. Thanks for sharing, well done. Dan

  24. Thanks for the help, bass opens this weekend so that should be the end of OOS for a bit. Dan
