  1. Wow, i didn't know that... What about other side: Patterson and around Mowai Island? Are they open for fishing? Is there any fish there?
  2. Hi Guys, I found some discussion on the topic at the forum but all were about fishing in Killbear off a shore. I am going camping there in a week time and considering taking my boat. I've never fished in that area but according to Navionics depth charts, there might be some good spots for smallies. Anyone tried that area for bass? Any tips/spots? Much appreciated! Audio_mad
  3. Thanks Guys for all the tips! I hope to get as many potential lakes as possible in that area beacuse if I buy something and it's dead fishing wise I am cooked... Thanks a million again for all the replies!
  4. Price is secondary at this stage and I can go up to 4 hours from North Toronto. Actually, some of the lakes you mentioned I know pretty well (Ahmic and Ceecebe) - they are of 524. I never heard about Eagle lake. Is it any good? That's more or less the area I am looking.
  5. Hey Guys, My wife really got into the idea of buying land or some cheap cottage up North on Hwy 11. I said, I would only buy on a lake with decent fishing. Since I've never fished in that area before(except for Algonquin park), I desperately need your advise on which lakes give good bass fishing perspective around there. Please HELP!!! Thanks in advance,
  6. We were fishing at Cook's Bay yesterday and tried some docks. All of a sudden an owner of a dock showed up and threatened to call the cops if we don't disappear within 2 minutes, the guy was super aggressive and claimed we need not to get closer that 300ft to his dock because 300ft of water in Simcoe (straight from his dock) is his private property indicated in his survey. As far as I know water is public, he begged to differ. Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a private water??? On a separate note, we were not even casting under his dock, just working the weeds about 12-15 feet from his dock.....
  7. Just wanted to share my experience of fishing with Paul at Fort Erie this week. On a rough day when we thought it's gonna be a nightmare of fishing Paul was able to find some good spots and we never left disappointed. In just 4 hours on a water we were able to catch some good size bass and good eating size as well. In total we got 8 bass among 2 of us, ranging from 2- 4.10 pounds (most of them were close to 4). I can't imagine what could have caught had we had better conditions. Anyone who wants to go for a sure catch, I'd recommend Paul as a guide and you'd enjoy a company of a great guy too. Thanks Paul!
  8. Thanks a lot Guys, I'd rather fish for large than smallmouth and will definitely try Beaver and Crawford. Also will try the "depth" gear for walleye. I'll let you guys know when I am back from there.
  9. Thanks CCMT, I read the report - it's great! I do have the equipment for 60-80' and a boat to get to any spot on the lake. You mentioned a spot with large fish (but big depth). Can you be a little more specific about the spot - I will give it a shot. Thanks again,
  10. I'm going to spend a week at Ahmic lake and wonder if somebody could help with some useful info and tips on what techniques, baits, and gears work there. The lake supposedly is pretty good fishing wise, I am not sure though which spots are productive. Thanks in advance,
  11. I live in Richmond Hill. And I have tried spoonpullers - they're real good but I'd love to see it in action to have a feel. Thanks again,
  12. I've never tried a deepwater fishing with riggers and now having a new boat I'd like to get into this thing. But before I start buying stuff, I'd love to learn about the equipment and techniques. I saw plenty of ads about trainings in the US but nothing here in Canada. Does anyone know if those courses exist? Or may be some experienced guys would give me a private lesson (with pay) on the water (on the proper equipment, techniques and so on... all about salmon, trout riggers fishing). If some of you would be interested - please drop me a message). Thanks,
  13. My Goodness, You really filled me up with info here. I got now the main idea with dipseys and different set ups. I guess it's going to take time to master those things but I will definitely try and hope for best... Thanks again, Mad
  14. Thanks to everyone!!! I get the idea now, although I still don't get a couple of points: dipseys of Luhr-Jensen go max 50' according to their website - how do you get to 75-80' then? Also I checked in LeBaron today, those dipseys don't come with charts - where do you find the charts? What kind og dipsey rods would you guys recommend to start with? Lots of stupid questions, I guess... I am just so eager to start using them - trying to learn every little detail now. Thanks a million again, Mad
