  2. Lol thx Brian, We braved the Bommanville tackle swap AND an East trib Today, Never again LOL !!!!
  3. Yep, the whole "go pro" deal is very strange Lol., What's up with that ??? Most of the Locals are pretty good, once they know your local .
  4. Been Floatfishing for 20+ years, was fortunate enough to usually have drifts, and pools to myself before we relocated from the North to the East. I've now gotten used to the crowds on the East tribs , but a special shout out to the guys that watched me roll in with my 6yr old son and gave up their prime drift location for my son and I , only saying to us "it's all about the kids" . Respect !! The kid hooked into one ,,, Thx!
  5. Nice work ! That perch sure is a Pig !!!!!! That 4th pic is pretty cool also.
  6. Gerrits "I knew the risks" A real eye opener for any guy in their 30s . Scared the crap outta me .
  7. Any veteran officer should approach any stop/check as though he or she is being filmed , it's common sense .
  8. My kids are 5 and 2 , both were HELL during the night at that age, We did did everything you could imagine to remedy it ! Straight up ........... They finally grew out of it . It's short term pain, before ya know it your trying to wake them so they don't miss the bus .
  9. No firewood this year, 4 tons of wood pellets though. Seriously thinking of pulling the petted stove for a wood stove though. It's our first winter in this place and I m going to miss the wood stove in the old place foresure .
  10. Informative thread , EVERY year we get into it with inconsiderate duck commander wannabes ( some of the beard attempts are priceless ) one guy last year even had the hang tag on his new Benelli shotgun LOL
  11. Good luck with Barrie Crysler/Dodge !!!!! If that's where you purchased that sweet ride . Nothing but problems from them when I had my Megacab Ram. THEY SHOULD 100% TAKECARE OF THAT !!!
  12. Ive just moved into the area , 10 min NE of Port Hope (Hamilton township) , for 20 plus years I was spoiled with easy and fast access to the Nottawasaga , rarely seeing anyone at the runs and pools I frequented I never realized how good I had it . Last week I headed to the Port Hope pier a few times with a buddy to chuck some hardware and left in shock LOL . We were greased out multiple times lol It's unimaginable the crap that goes on down there. From the garbage, fights, and snagging to the shouting matches and just general idiotiodic behaviour of SOME, not all of the Anglers. If your skin is thick enough it actually provides entertainment between fish. Though I know that as with all rivers it fizzles out in the coming weeks But I wouldn't blame the town at all for posting no trespassing signs . November can't come fast enough !!!
  13. Hahahaha, yep they spray just fine while in live release traps , "but" I've also caught one, blanketed the trap, and preformed a live release . Last one didn't go that way though.
  14. Truely Sorry to hear of your families loss. She sounds like one hell of a fighter ! Ryan
  15. Good to know Gerrit, we're going to be just Northwest of Cobourg . PM me any company's to watch out for if ya got them .(Sorry to hijack the thread ) Cheers , Ry
  16. Great post !!! I'll be watching this one as we move next week to our rural property and its forced air hydro $$$$$$!!!!! Switching to propane ASAP !
  17. Two weeks ago a buddy caught a 17lb chinook off the pier in Whitby . Wouldn't of believed it without pics. Pays to try !!!
  18. Wingmaster, SuperNova,BPS, would be my choices in order . Wingmaster is a do all very reliable pump gun with a million after market accessories . Nicely blued and polished from the factory . With the express 870 you may find yourself having to polish the chamber as as many feature a rough chamber that causes grief ejecting shells. Express models seem more prone to rust also. SuperNova is a basically industructable pump that handles 3.5 inch shells if you choose, strips down for cleaning in the field with zero tools, comfortec stock is cool and deffinetly reduces felt recoil , shims to adjust the stock to your liking are all so a bonus . It is a heavy gun though, pump stroke is long for some peoples liking, also asseccaries are scarce and costly . BPS (Browning pump shotgun ) is a great bottom eject shotgun perfect for a leftie. Accessories are fairly common, love the tang Thumb Safety, one big negative for me was complete tear down and cleaning as it can get trickey. A newer Ithaca M37 is a cool option if you can find one threaded for chokes for more versatility , bottom eject and they have a slam fire option ( hold the trigger and pump away) you'd likley never use it but kinda cool. Newer M37s also seem to have some of the nicest wood on a pump you'll find . Wood vs Synthectic ...... In my opinion Wood stocks are deffinitly nicer to look at but having owned guns with AAA grade walnut stocks I hated smashing through the underbrush of a grouse cover trying not to mark up the fancy stock. Even though scratches build character on a stock, it still hurt. I've since learned to love just plain black synthetic for the pounding and crappy weather conditions it can take . The most important thing as others have stated is make sure which ever gun you choose shoulders nicely and feels right. Just my 2 cents , good luck Ry
  19. Heads up , lots of ice fishing lures on clearance . Bad BoyZ jigs are 50-60% off and a good selection . Mapleview location. Cheers Ry
  20. Some great footage!!! My 5yr old is obsessed with fishing (and sharks), so he was absoluitly facinated watching your son land some stellar fish. He watched it a few times . I can't wait until he's old enough for a fly in . Thanks for the report !!!!
  21. Great, thanks for the replys . The Mentioned company's are checking into it for us . Would have never thought this would be an issue 10 min outside of town LOL. Thanks again , Ryan
