  1. Some of the best threads for me on this board have been in regards to customer service be it positive or negative so id like to share my experience with Rapala/Normark. Last season I was in the middle of drilling a hole on Simcoe with my 8"manual Finbore (bought in 2016, drilled 8 holes in its life ) and the offset handle sheared right off . As i was prepping my gas auger and other gear last week i remembered i still had my back up auger in need of repair . Many calls later I found my self at Rapalas head office in Oshawa inquiring about a replacement handle as mine had sheared off right above the auger after less then a dozen uses. Apon my arrival to reciption i was looked at like i had three eyes LOL, in fairness it could of been the auger I was carrying. I explained that I'd been directed to come right to Rapala/Finbore to inquire about having the handle fixed or replaced. I could litralley sense the level of inconvenience I had caused by having them page a rep to the front office. Once the Rep arrivied (I'm guessing she's never turned a auger in her life ) I was told 40.00$$$ , she didn't want to know how it happened, age of the auger etc... Not wanting to make a scene I agreed , turns out it was only 29.95 . BUT then came the lecture on how I should be more careful LOL. I asked her what the most careful way to drill through 10" of ice was .... silence. This morning I emailed Rapalas feedback team about my neg experiance and the response was priceless ... "Sorry about your experinace in Oshawa, good luck with your repaired auger". Ive dealt with most of the major players on product feedback/issues and all have been great and stood by their product. Not Rapala . Anyways just a heads up for anyone looking at anything that costs more then a lure . Lures .... well they work LOL. Tightlines R
  2. A little off topic ..... Just went to the Oshawa head office to see about having my manual Finnbore auger handle replaced as it had sheared off last year after the 8th time out . Paid full pop for a new one and was told to be a little more "gentle" next time by the secretary . Customer service was amoung the worst I've seen in the industry . Not surprised one bit the prices are inflated directly from them .
  3. Looks like a great day , love it when a new lake pays off.
  4. Awesome !!!
  5. Great news Brian, no excuses now for missing that float dropping !!!
  6. He mentioned they just needed to read depths, anything else would be a bonus . I find it absolutely insane the funding Bull these guys go through , especially when you look at the amount of wasted tax dollars we've all seen.
  7. Hey guys and gals, My buddy runs the Oshawa Auxillary Coast guard and their looking for a new graph for their rescue zodiac , funds aren't there to purchase a new one. Every year this group of men and woman volunteer their time to help tow countless broken down boats back to the saftey of the harbour, and assist in rescue operations . I've got an brutally old unit I was going to donate but figured I'd put the feelers out for something better. Of course with the donation you'll recieve a full tax receipt. Feel free to PM me for their info, or possible leads on a unit to help these guys out. Thanks Ryan
  8. You've got a talent ! Great pics !!!
  9. Lol thx Brian, We braved the Bommanville tackle swap AND an East trib Today, Never again LOL !!!!
  10. Yep, the whole "go pro" deal is very strange Lol., What's up with that ??? Most of the Locals are pretty good, once they know your local .
  11. Been Floatfishing for 20+ years, was fortunate enough to usually have drifts, and pools to myself before we relocated from the North to the East. I've now gotten used to the crowds on the East tribs , but a special shout out to the guys that watched me roll in with my 6yr old son and gave up their prime drift location for my son and I , only saying to us "it's all about the kids" . Respect !! The kid hooked into one ,,, Thx!
  12. Nice work ! That perch sure is a Pig !!!!!! That 4th pic is pretty cool also.
  13. Gerrits "I knew the risks" A real eye opener for any guy in their 30s . Scared the crap outta me .
  14. Any veteran officer should approach any stop/check as though he or she is being filmed , it's common sense .
  15. My kids are 5 and 2 , both were HELL during the night at that age, We did did everything you could imagine to remedy it ! Straight up ........... They finally grew out of it . It's short term pain, before ya know it your trying to wake them so they don't miss the bus .
  16. No firewood this year, 4 tons of wood pellets though. Seriously thinking of pulling the petted stove for a wood stove though. It's our first winter in this place and I m going to miss the wood stove in the old place foresure .
  17. Informative thread , EVERY year we get into it with inconsiderate duck commander wannabes ( some of the beard attempts are priceless ) one guy last year even had the hang tag on his new Benelli shotgun LOL
  18. Good luck with Barrie Crysler/Dodge !!!!! If that's where you purchased that sweet ride . Nothing but problems from them when I had my Megacab Ram. THEY SHOULD 100% TAKECARE OF THAT !!!
  19. Ive just moved into the area , 10 min NE of Port Hope (Hamilton township) , for 20 plus years I was spoiled with easy and fast access to the Nottawasaga , rarely seeing anyone at the runs and pools I frequented I never realized how good I had it . Last week I headed to the Port Hope pier a few times with a buddy to chuck some hardware and left in shock LOL . We were greased out multiple times lol It's unimaginable the crap that goes on down there. From the garbage, fights, and snagging to the shouting matches and just general idiotiodic behaviour of SOME, not all of the Anglers. If your skin is thick enough it actually provides entertainment between fish. Though I know that as with all rivers it fizzles out in the coming weeks But I wouldn't blame the town at all for posting no trespassing signs . November can't come fast enough !!!
  20. Hahahaha, yep they spray just fine while in live release traps , "but" I've also caught one, blanketed the trap, and preformed a live release . Last one didn't go that way though.
  21. Truely Sorry to hear of your families loss. She sounds like one hell of a fighter ! Ryan
