  1. Hey Guys , thoughts on the 20'Legend camo cc? thinking of buying one with a merc 115. As a family we fish and duck hunt , this boat seems to fit the bill. Zero info on the net as far as reviews for this rig. Any opinions? Thanks guys. R
  2. Very sorry for your loss Cliff, terrible news.
  3. Yep LoL... Miss the space in that Ram Megacab, but not the fuel $$$, same can be said for the Titan Pro 4x.
  4. I went from a 2014 Titan Pr0 4x to a 2017 Ram 1500 Basic SXT package crew cab, the the extra $$ saved by going with the SXT I customized the truck with a proper lift kit (2") and proper off road tires/rims and a few other things to make it some what capible on the logging/bush roads. Only 6000km on it but no complaints .
  5. My 2 cents ... on a 400 series HWY the risk to MNR, OPP far exceeds the reward for pulling a vehicle over to check for fish and game violations . Redirect resourses to problem areas .
  6. My two cents, I had NEVER had a tick until a few weeks ago, was out turkey hunting , though i had checked myself well once I was home . That night there was an intense pain right on the inside of my elbow , I tossed and turned and wrote it off s a strain from messing around with the tractors mower deck that day . GUESS I SHOULD OF LOOKED !!! lol! A tick had dug right into my tendon, whole arm was stiffened right up. Pulled it out with the dogs tick remover and blasted right up to my wife's clinic . She rarely prescribes antibiotics but insistead on a 10 day course of them . Two guys that I work with have recently been diagnosed with lyme's. Scary stuff!! Its totally screwed up Turkey hunting as now I can't sit still and investaigate every itch, and sensation on my body LMAO . Take care out there.
  7. Action in Barrie was GREAT to deal with for my RAM megacab and Titan Pro 4x . Had a few issues and they corrected them no questions asked ! Both involved caps .
  8. Update.... Rainshadow stands behind their product 100% , couldn't provide the identicle blank the original rod was tied on ,SO provided an updated Blank for 34.00$ .... deffinitly can't complain about that . As far as rod building companys ........ choose wisely ! I went against all opinions here to save a few bucks ....... lesson learned . Spiel check your PMs gonna need a few rods tied LOL.
  9. NICE !! we may have to trade some upland birds for whitefish next year !!!!
  10. I know crazy eh , I take my kid fishing Lol. Don't expect crowds to part way at all, love it when he hooks a fish and all of a sudden 5 guys are next to him cause the "pods" there LMAO !!! and yes crowd fishing is an Art, that's why we fish weekdays and after school on occasion . Though ....... I bet if I rigged him up with a j-13 and 10' rod we'd get at least 50' of space LOL
  11. My 2 cents , We moved just North of Cobourg (10 min to the Ganny) 1.5yrs ago. Previous to the move I lived 5 min from the Nottawasaga (Thornton area) and fished it at least 3 times a week in the Fall and spring for a long while. I was spoiled , to say the least, i thought Angus could get bad LOL. I now fish with numbers in excess of 100 on most days , Garbage is Insane, angler etiquette is non exsistant in most cases from everyone and not any particular race or culture. We've had idiots wearing 3000$ worth of gear try to grease me and my boy (7yrs) out of our spot because they're "locals" and we've dealt with others that likley didn't no any better sporting 20$ worth of gear. There was one day last year that a few guys insisted me and my boy fish a prime spot and moved so he could get in there, they weren't locals and english was a second language . Port Hope definitely has a problem , fall being the worst time. I've stood on the walking bridges as a spectater to the carnage and its INSANE!! I also remember when Essa township implemented their fees , drove me nuts as a tax payer to the township, honestly only started buying one once my son started fishing with me as previosly I would only drift water i was likley not to encounter any other anglers on . Even now the reality for that system (Notty) is pontoon boats and wanna be guides. Still a great fishery though, Miss it!! Unfortunately as seen in Essa, anglers will still disrespect the resources , seriously whats 40$, that doesn't even buy 3 Rapala's, and hardly a decent 24 of beer. Theres no point to a fee , charge a fee and you lose the support of your "local " anglers , this actually does carry some clout ANYWHERE ! My opinion ... shut it down in the fall , use the same regs as now, South of the CNR bridge . I've seen both sides ..... No one wins.
  12. Just read a FB post between them and one of my FB friends. Exact same issue, seems like their customer service is crap. Thanks for the heads up.
  13. Hey guys, last Fall I ended up breaking one of my float rods, an important one as it was a wedding gift from my wife . The folks at Rainshadow have been great but unfortunitly it looks like I will need to get a new one tied on an updated Blank. Id like to keep the reel seat(wood), cork , and as many other original componants as possible as it holds sentimental value . I want my boy to fish it one day. Originally came from Backwoods rods in Wasaga , no idea who builds them though. Im looking for someone to rebuild this thing with a supplied blank and components . Thoughts ? Pms welcome . Thanks, Ryan
  14. LMAO, Good luck to them . Hope it turns up for you.
  15. I'm no surprised hearing the neg experiences from others . Shame really .
  16. Some of the best threads for me on this board have been in regards to customer service be it positive or negative so id like to share my experience with Rapala/Normark. Last season I was in the middle of drilling a hole on Simcoe with my 8"manual Finbore (bought in 2016, drilled 8 holes in its life ) and the offset handle sheared right off . As i was prepping my gas auger and other gear last week i remembered i still had my back up auger in need of repair . Many calls later I found my self at Rapalas head office in Oshawa inquiring about a replacement handle as mine had sheared off right above the auger after less then a dozen uses. Apon my arrival to reciption i was looked at like i had three eyes LOL, in fairness it could of been the auger I was carrying. I explained that I'd been directed to come right to Rapala/Finbore to inquire about having the handle fixed or replaced. I could litralley sense the level of inconvenience I had caused by having them page a rep to the front office. Once the Rep arrivied (I'm guessing she's never turned a auger in her life ) I was told 40.00$$$ , she didn't want to know how it happened, age of the auger etc... Not wanting to make a scene I agreed , turns out it was only 29.95 . BUT then came the lecture on how I should be more careful LOL. I asked her what the most careful way to drill through 10" of ice was .... silence. This morning I emailed Rapalas feedback team about my neg experiance and the response was priceless ... "Sorry about your experinace in Oshawa, good luck with your repaired auger". Ive dealt with most of the major players on product feedback/issues and all have been great and stood by their product. Not Rapala . Anyways just a heads up for anyone looking at anything that costs more then a lure . Lures .... well they work LOL. Tightlines R
  17. A little off topic ..... Just went to the Oshawa head office to see about having my manual Finnbore auger handle replaced as it had sheared off last year after the 8th time out . Paid full pop for a new one and was told to be a little more "gentle" next time by the secretary . Customer service was amoung the worst I've seen in the industry . Not surprised one bit the prices are inflated directly from them .
  18. Looks like a great day , love it when a new lake pays off.
  19. Great news Brian, no excuses now for missing that float dropping !!!
  20. He mentioned they just needed to read depths, anything else would be a bonus . I find it absolutely insane the funding Bull these guys go through , especially when you look at the amount of wasted tax dollars we've all seen.
  21. Hey guys and gals, My buddy runs the Oshawa Auxillary Coast guard and their looking for a new graph for their rescue zodiac , funds aren't there to purchase a new one. Every year this group of men and woman volunteer their time to help tow countless broken down boats back to the saftey of the harbour, and assist in rescue operations . I've got an brutally old unit I was going to donate but figured I'd put the feelers out for something better. Of course with the donation you'll recieve a full tax receipt. Feel free to PM me for their info, or possible leads on a unit to help these guys out. Thanks Ryan
