  1. Thanks for the advice and tips , fishing did pick up, we got em in the thick slop . Punching jigs through the thick mats produced lots of 1.5-2lbers . Kid had a blast .
  2. Hoping that’s the case BillM And agree GBW , I’ve marked em deep and no takers , We've downsized everything , flipping Bitzy bugs , and tossing 3” yammy senkos LOL, that’s what the big guys have slammed .
  3. Up here on a Kawartha lake , grinding it out . Bites been pretty slow , did mange one beauty LM and a few smallies but it’s a grind . Deep weed edge , pads , grass , rocks ... been all over it and not hitting many. it’s bitter sweet , the ones we do get are big , but my son needs a few smaller ones in between to keep him occupied lol. Any tips ?
  4. Nice work !! Wish I had the patience to tie some of those creations !
  5. Awsome tips , appreciated since posting I ve realized i could justify snagging a little honda generator for 101 reasons other than fishing LOL lol .
  6. Back from our annual camping trip , fishing was amazing , higher water levels made a huge difference on this lake . Despite the crazy weather all the gear held up perfectly. Snagged a Marmot Limestone tent a few years back on clearance and it really hadn’t been tested with weather yet , passed with flying colors and kept us dry all week ! Another surprise was how well the a Walmart “lifetime” cooler performed on our trip , absolutely destroyed the YETI we bring as well and is a fraction of the price . Area we camp at every year is boat access only, previous years I’d carefully glide my Lund up on to the shoreline while losing my mind hearing the scratching on the red hull, no worries about that with the G3 outfitter , couple scratches on her actually suit it lol. Fishing was great , tons of decent smallies, and a bunch of walleye and pike with a few fallfish . Smoke colored red flick tubes produced best with perch colored jerk baits a close second . Walleye came on mostly 1/4 oz jig heads tipped with shiners the kids netted through out the day . Typical walleye bite was fast and furious for 45min before sunset , through out the day I’d mark them off structure in 30’-40’ though and we got a few spot locking the trolling motor right over top of them . Would of loved to fish them like this for longer but with no power sources had to baby the batteries , Anyone run a small Honda generator to charge their boat? That may be the next purchase . No other sites anywhere near ours so noise won’t be an issue . Here’s a few pics from the trip
  7. Great to read your back at it again !!!!!!
  8. I personally would go with the Crestliner due to the built in gas tank and extra horse power , you'll never regret more horses. Both nice rigs though . Traded my 2017 Lund rebel for a G3 177 Outfitter , with a 70 tiller this year and absolutely love extra space a tiller provides .
  9. First off thanks for all the earlier tips , finally got her out for a few hours . First thing that was blatantly obvious was the insane amount of usable deck space compared to our Lund 1650 Rebel with the full windshield. Kids moved around casting and jigging and never once was I worried I’d be snagged by one of them lol . Boat handled some decent whitecaps effortlessly. Not sure about the baitwell or onboard built in cooler .. seemed like a wasted bit of space BUT it houses a battery now . We hit some weedlines looking for Walleye , utilizing the Ultrex and spot lock , what a game changer that is ! I’m a little late to the game with regards to certain technology but man it’s worth every penny! The Helix 10 G2N mega si is unfortunately having transducer issues, units not reading the transducer . No ideas nor did the fella at hummingbird , sounds like a bad transducer, new one on the way . NOW .. the Yamaha 70hp Tiller ....It pushes this rig great but you’ll get a great arm workout lol, it’s fun rig to fly around in , perfectly planes out . Now the fishing ..... We stuck to deeper weed lines , 30$ polarized glasses and Minnkota spot lock were key ! not the 1500$ graph that didn’t work lol ! We were ripping jigs , each kid nailed a few decent walleye on perch colored bucktails, I was busy messing around with the graph and only managed to miss a few fish . Stellar day to spend a few hours on the lake and get to know the new rig , can’t wait for the graph to function properly. Thanks again for the tips !
  10. This is amazing , nice work man !
  11. That’s a pretty sweet rig !!!!
  12. She’s home !!!! Lots of studying to do with regards to the electronics and Trolling motor loL gotta fab up a duck blind over the summer and it’s good to go ! again thanks for the tiller tips !
  13. Nice looking rig , loads of memories ahead !

  15. Great tip , thanks !
  16. LOL pick her up this week , got some rigging to do then ill snap a pic , gotta fab a duck blind for it over the summer though.
  17. Hey guys , Pulled the trigger and purchased a 177 G3 Outfitter , 70hp Yamaha tiller . Any tips for a operating a Larger tiller ? Thanks
  18. It makes no sense and is ridiculous . I'm a 10 min drive to the Ganny , on this drive i pass 3 golf courses ,parking lots full. Was the closure designed to limit people region hoping ? likely, does that mean the golf courses are only allowing municipality residents ? In our house its my son that suffers the most from this decision , at age 11 with all sports cancelled and living rural the kid loved fishing the river 2-3 times a week , and was looking forward to launching the boat for some crappies this week. Its what he looks forward to all week. Rant over LOL, its my first one during this pandemic. Now to tell him the bad news .
  19. Awesome work !!! shhhhh!!! on those Bloodworms lol
  20. Tough fish for those stocked bows LOL !!so needed a confidence boost closer to home. Headed out for some eyes and connected with some beauty’s Rippin rattle spoons and minnow heads . Aggressive jigging .... Mark a fish ..... slow it right down . Kept a smaller one for the pan .The Big girls went back down the hole . Let’s hope the ice starts tightening up with some cold temps , spud bars really getting a workout !
  21. I hear ya man!! Sight fishing Gbay Bows when conditions are right is amazing and heart stopping .
  22. Hit a Lake in the North Kawartha area today that's stocked with bows . It humbled us LOL. I'm curious to hear what anyone uses and some of the depths they fish. Ice conditions for the lake were 5"-6" everywhere we drilled , and we drilled alot LOL. Any Intel\ opinion is much appreciated . R
  23. No matter the PFD you choose, pair it with a Water rescue throw rope bag , light weight and will save a life down there . Though we never wore pfds at the whirlpool we always carried a throw bag .
  24. Listed my Lund at the start of summer , powered by a 90 ETEC. A TON of guys were after the two stroke because they had been discontinued . Boat sold within 2 hours , unfortunately so did its replacement .
