I've had three over the years. Very capable of anything you throw at them I have not driven one with the new penstar 3.6L engine but would imagine great things from it with the 85 extra HP and better fuel milage than its thirsty predecessor the 3.8L. The four door JK is the way to go, I'd get a basic sport package and then do your upgrades from there. You don't need painted fenders , leather , or anything else upgraded after all it's a jeep and if you trail it these up grades will cause heart ache as there damaged one by one. My last Jeep was a 2dr Rubicon, only way to describe it is it's basically an Side by side utility vehicle deemed road worthy. With the locking differentials , 4:10 gears, sway bar disconnect and upgraded tires it was unstoppable getting into those back lakes for brookies . If you can swing the extra $$$ get the Rubicon JK . You won't regret it and if you do it has one of the highest Resales around. R

Hope your right. I'm out daily as well and it's looking bleak. I've Definitely happened apon more kill sites for both turkeys and deer this year as opposed to previous years. Time will tell.

Layers of ice over prime food plots equals weaker birds more prone to predation /starvation and sickness. We've had a few good layers of ice built in to the snow pack around us this year.Starving birds are easy pickings, sick birds even easier .

That's what I figured , substantially less turkeys this year. Easy pickings for the yotes this winter. Been trying to plug away at them all winter also but now that spring is here I give the yotes a break. Scored a few farms around here to hunt so I'm still hoping .

How's the scouting going ? I've been out scouting all week. Places where flocks were 10-15 birds now hold 5-10 birds. Looks like it was a brutal winter for them up here. Anyone else ? R

Any thoughts on Canadian Health Care System?
Rustic-Fisher replied to okumasheffield's topic in General Discussion
Our family is loaded with mainly Cops, and one Firefighter and my wife the nurse. Dinner conversations can get interesting and sometimes we forget to filter a lot of stuff thus causing some pretty shocked faces for those not exposed to the good ,bad and especially funny stories we've seen . It's definitely a stress reliever for my wife and a stress causer for some LOL. Wife doesn't wear her scrubs home, and I usually don't wear my stuff home either, We re both paranoid of the kids catching something so I can relate to the "nurse curse" LoL -
Any thoughts on Canadian Health Care System?
Rustic-Fisher replied to okumasheffield's topic in General Discussion
Well written , wife is an RN at sick kids and has worked in oncology for the last 12 years. Though she loves the job , she's done with the politics and is a year away from finnally becoming a nurse praticioner and moving forward in a role she feels is critical for the future . -
In the section I run the dog, the snow in the bush is knee deep. Gonna run the pup for some deer sheds later today and check it out again.

Been tinkering with pumps for years , especially vintage Winchester M12s If I was to look for a new gun off the shelf today I'd be looking at saving up a few extra bucks and grabbing a Benelli Super Nova or Remington Wingmaster, BPS is a great gun, bottom eject is nice for the lefties but wait till you have to strip it and clean it . It's tricky. Value wise .... The Mossy covers everything , but lose the plastic safety and replace it with an after market metal safety ASAP . Checkout canadiangunnutz.com a used older Wingmaster can be had for less then 400$ If you enjoy aftermarket parts stick with the 870 lines . Quality is definitely an issue with all 870 expresses, but a lot of times it's nothing that some time and a dermal tool can't remedy .

Brian, I can snag some minnows off you also , I'll buy. My four year old will likely last for an hour lol. Shooting for a 9am arrival. One favour....... I snapped the handle of my auger last week , this winter and 30" of ice proved to much. May have to bum a few holes . -

I keep hearing of a chainsaw lady lol . We've had zero issues on the biggy . Lucky I guess . Jump shooting ducks on the Notty is where we have the most issues . Birdshot coming my way ......... I'd lose my mind . -

Nottawasaga Navigable water way ?

Just found where the info came from , was in our local paper yesterday. -
Has anyone heard parts of this river may be reclassified as private ? Restricting boat traffic ( canoes, drift boats etc..). A few friends were telling me about it last night. We drift the river regularly and I'm hoping this is not the case . Plan on stopping by the Town offices toady. Thanks R

Kid is looking forward to seeing a pike !!! See you sat . -
That is CRAZY! We only have a half acre fenced yard that backs onto bush and every night we have tracks around the perimeter . There's a new missing cat sign on the mail box and at the general store weekly LOL.

How's the Yote hunting been ? I've only taken 3 this year. My area is swarming with them. Had one engage in a stare down @ close to 50yrds with my new 1.5yr lab during a walk last week. Just got permission from the farmer adjacent to the forest to take care of it . Ry
