  1. Here's the deal, I'm looking for a some back lakes within 3 hours of Barrie , lakes with camp sites are preferred . I'm finding that with two kids and a wife back in university I have zero time for exploring/testing new waters. I have some OFC street credit with a few members in regards to back lake fishing LOL. In return I'll see if I can accommodate any back lakes info your searching for, within the same area. As for quality, I'm not looking for your platinum lakes, we can start trading at the Bronze level LOL. If anyone is interested in sharing some info let me know. Cheers Ryan
  2. NICE !!!!!! Love the tube setup .
  3. That's pretty cool, I can think of at least a dozen big dirty log jams that I'd love to have underwater footage of what's lurking beneath them.
  4. Stopped by today to check the place out, it was a zoo but that was to be expected on a Sunday. Though it was busy it was always easy to find an associate for price checks etc . Was able to spend a few moments in the gun room ( solo with two kids under five ) and it was refreshing to see the staff actually had some shotgun knowledge and gun dog know how. Kids were spoiled rotten with free swag and loved the kids sections. The thing that impressed me most was when we picked a new dog bed with no price on it, inquired about it with staff and were given a price of 39.99. Got to the front to check out and the bed came up as 79.99. Cashier called the manager over, a quick on line search revealed the bed was in fact 79.99. The manager honoured the price quoted to me without me even asking. Impressive . I look forward to hitting the place once the crowds fizzle out, and hope the service stays the same.
  5. Agreed keep it simple . Remember those pigs we hooked 8' from shore while we fished from the shore at that back lake we hit. Doesn't get much simpler LOL
  6. Just a shot in the dark ..... Does obtaining your DZ have anything to do with applying to the Fire Department ?
  7. Fitness is crucial , glad you've found away to incorporate fishing and fitness!!! Well done !!!
  8. Nice set up , I'm getting more interested in the Yak fishing. I travel to a bunch of backwoods bass lakes in the summer and this would prove ideal . Interested to see how it works out. Ry
  9. Hahahah, just looked again.Thought 20 months was a little strange , Still impressive though .
  10. For a a kid that's 20 months old that's INSANE , unbelievable coordination , balance, and the ability to process instruction that rapidly. Talk about natural athletic ability.
  11. Worked a BPS classic years ago and he was there with his wife promoting Rapala . Honestly , he may be the most pompous arrogant you know what I've ever come across. Not a fan.
  12. Usually do them myself but not this year, any recommendations for a good tax guy in the Barrie area ? Thanks Ryan
  13. Poaching losers ! Good on ya for calling them in. Hope it's followed up on. Sucks about the little guy, we were doing the puke and clean last week. Not fun !!!
  14. Anyone wanna buy my Dodge Ram MegaCab with a 5.7 Hemi ........anyone ? ...........
  15. I know .... It's infested LOLI'm a bit of a pansy, I just can't pull the trigger knowing their carrying pups or have pups in a den . I have no problem with others doing it, but I'd rather Wait till winter. Trust me I hate em as much as the next guy!
  16. I've had three over the years. Very capable of anything you throw at them I have not driven one with the new penstar 3.6L engine but would imagine great things from it with the 85 extra HP and better fuel milage than its thirsty predecessor the 3.8L. The four door JK is the way to go, I'd get a basic sport package and then do your upgrades from there. You don't need painted fenders , leather , or anything else upgraded after all it's a jeep and if you trail it these up grades will cause heart ache as there damaged one by one. My last Jeep was a 2dr Rubicon, only way to describe it is it's basically an Side by side utility vehicle deemed road worthy. With the locking differentials , 4:10 gears, sway bar disconnect and upgraded tires it was unstoppable getting into those back lakes for brookies . If you can swing the extra $$$ get the Rubicon JK . You won't regret it and if you do it has one of the highest Resales around. R
  17. Hope your right. I'm out daily as well and it's looking bleak. I've Definitely happened apon more kill sites for both turkeys and deer this year as opposed to previous years. Time will tell.
  18. Layers of ice over prime food plots equals weaker birds more prone to predation /starvation and sickness. We've had a few good layers of ice built in to the snow pack around us this year.Starving birds are easy pickings, sick birds even easier .
  19. That's what I figured , substantially less turkeys this year. Easy pickings for the yotes this winter. Been trying to plug away at them all winter also but now that spring is here I give the yotes a break. Scored a few farms around here to hunt so I'm still hoping .
  20. How's the scouting going ? I've been out scouting all week. Places where flocks were 10-15 birds now hold 5-10 birds. Looks like it was a brutal winter for them up here. Anyone else ? R
  21. Our family is loaded with mainly Cops, and one Firefighter and my wife the nurse. Dinner conversations can get interesting and sometimes we forget to filter a lot of stuff thus causing some pretty shocked faces for those not exposed to the good ,bad and especially funny stories we've seen . It's definitely a stress reliever for my wife and a stress causer for some LOL. Wife doesn't wear her scrubs home, and I usually don't wear my stuff home either, We re both paranoid of the kids catching something so I can relate to the "nurse curse" LoL
  22. Well written , wife is an RN at sick kids and has worked in oncology for the last 12 years. Though she loves the job , she's done with the politics and is a year away from finnally becoming a nurse praticioner and moving forward in a role she feels is critical for the future .
  23. In the section I run the dog, the snow in the bush is knee deep. Gonna run the pup for some deer sheds later today and check it out again.
