  1. Wayne, my hat's off to you, your daughter and your family. You've all got an amazing spirit ! May God bless !!
  2. great idea - i second the motion.
  3. Fantastic !!! congratulations !!
  4. that's what surprised me about that episode..... I would've thought they'd have tried that for sure (snagging the rod that just went over). Perhaps they did off camera and weren't successful ?
  5. Positive thoughts and prayers sent your way.... best of luck and keeping the positive energy going. All the best.
  6. Great board with great members
  7. One of my favourite things to do - clear several of the neighbours drives around me. Takes me about 10 minutes to clear my little drive most of the time - the blower barely gets warmed up - so off i go to find more to do. Everyone is grateful and that's all that matters. I can't stand to see any of my older neighbours out there struggling with a bloody shovel. Some day if I'm lucky enough to get old - maybe someone will think of me. In the mean time it's great to help out my neighbours and be part of the neighbourhood.
  8. I didn't hay but grew up on a tobacco farm ..... my back still aches !! .....but those were the best of times. Many many fond memories with my brothers. Didn't enjoy some of the work then.... but miss it now !
  9. Do either one of them have much in the way of towing capacity ?
  10. in my opinion - you drive a vehicle out there at your own risk/peril. That's a given - it's a lake - frozen or not frozen - no place for a vehicle esp if you don't know what you're doing.
  11. Just makes you shake your head and wonder why ? What a terrible loss. We should all be thankful there are people out there like this officer, willing to risk everything to keep us safe. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and family.
  12. Man- that's tough. Best wishes for a fast and healthy recovery.
  13. great job ! congrats to the lucky winners
  14. May the good Lord be with you during this difficult time and you find strength in those near you. condolences
  15. Many would say lures are designed to a) catch fisherman and then catch fish. buyer beware.
  16. Enjoyed the premier - it was good to see you with some noteworthy guests... and doing something out of your comfort zone ! Congrats to the Canadian Jr's on a great tourney - tough way to win silver - but well done all the same.
  17. cool... thx
  18. Well done !! I think we can all learn something from this post. Merry Christmas !!
  19. Enjoy it while you can guys... mine are 25 and 22 and it just isn't the same.... esp with one on the other side of the country. Listening to her unwrap her gift over the phone was nice .. but just not the same ! My favourite day of the year is/was Christmas morning - so much excitement, wonder and togetherness. A wonderful time indeed.
  20. i vote for beer and naked women !
  21. A prayer for you and your family - stay positive. May God bless !
  22. Thanks for the info guys. And Dan - the cookie sheet thing sounds like a great plan also !
  23. I like to freeze some fish from time to time to eat during the off months. I've always had good success freezing my fish in water - keeps the freezer burn to a minimum and the fish seem to store well that way. This week I see Canadian tire has one of those vaccum storage systems on sale (sucks the air outta the plastic bag and seals the bag for freezing). Has anyone had any good or bad experience with this type of system ?
  24. I'll endorse the power wash idea also. I had been looking for a way to clean the carpet in my boat for several years and used spot cleaner etc. Recently the people on this board recommended the power wash system - and it worked great. Set your washer on fan spray and like Lew suggested - open the drain plug and try to have your boat tilted to the back. I wouldn,t recommend using too much/any soap - apparently that just takes longer to was out. I was amazed at how much crud washed out of my carpet and how good it looked when done. I used the shop vac to suck outta the carpet as much water as I could. Half a day in the sun the boat was dry. This will certainly be something I do much more often.
