I,ve got a line on a 2007 hotmaps premium 2007 edition (zone c) that I was thinking about buying ($85) for my lowrance LMS 520. I'm only looking for information on inland lakes (kawarthas, nippissing etc) and don't really need it for the great lakes. The newest version is pushing twice that much (cost) so I'm thinking this one will probably be more than enough for myself (weekend fisherman) and I don't need the HD info. If anyone has any input I,d appreciate it ! thx.

Henry - thanks for the link - actually that makes a lot of sense - use what the manufacturer suggests - hard to go wrong that way !!
-
Thanks Art - it's been working well for me also - just wanted to make sure it wasn't just a fluke or something. After checking the stabil site further it mentioned that for the marine formula for storage just double the dose
-
thanks smalliefisher - yes i saw that picture on his facebook page. he never explained why that happened - I have no idea what extreme marine is - but if that's his boat, and he's using that phase guard 4 and that's due to fuel separation i don't wanna use what he's using
-
Well done - thanks for sharing !!

Hey Art - I read that also - but I understood that's for the regular stabil - does that hold true for the stabil marine formula also ?

I've been using the Stabil marine formula additive in my gasoline for my outboard to help minimize the ethanol issues - thinking it was also good for stabilizing fuel for storage. But looking thru the literature on the stuff it doesn't look like they recommend it for storage. I got my outboard (optimax 115) running this spring with no problem as in the past using this product and was going to purchase some more of the stabil marine when I started wondering if i was using the best product. I looked into the stuff Bob Izumi pedals - phase guard 4 . It looks like it's designed to do both - deal with the ethanol issues and stabilize the fuel. I'd prefer to use just one product that does everything I need it to do. Has anyone used the phase guard 4 product ? Good or bad experiences ? http://www.crc-canada.ca/Support/prod_detail.aspx?PN=75141

Just wanted to give a big thanks to DanD from this board (and to slowpoke for referring me). Dan took some time out of his busy schedule to get me fixed up and did a great job. Trailers got some new rubber (goodyear marathons - radials ) and I've got some piece of mind. Thanks again Dan !!

If you're getting quoted that rate from the dealer make sure you find out what if any discount on the purchase price you can get if you pay cash - then arrange a personal loan or personal line of credit with your lender/banker. 5.6% for 5years does look like a pretty good rate though. If you've got some equity in your home, home owner credit lines are usually the cheapest way to borrow. what you're basically doing is arranging a secured (mortgage on your home) line of credit - in return for a good rate. takes a little bit of time at the outset to get set up - but then you've got it for as long as you own your home.

Hey thanks for the info guys. Brian - I'll definitely check DanD out. And no - I don"t wanna cheap out - for the sake of an extra $50 or $100 it's definitely worth the extra piece of mind. Just checked to-nite - they're actually 13 inch tires. I checked with a local good year tire dealer down town london - he actually told me he can't compete with PA and I should check him out. by the time he prices the tire, takes my old tire off and puts the new one on the rim PA's already got him beat selling the tire and rim as a package - go figure.

Time to replace the tires on my boat trailer (before it,s too late). They're standard 12 inch trailer tires - boat and trailer weigh about 1500 - 1700 lbs. I was just going to go to crappy tire and pick up a pair - but perhaps there's a better option considering quality and price ? Any suggestions from those in the know ? thx.

I,ve got a honda mower as well - bought it used about 20 years ago. With some minimal annual maintenance this thing has never let me down. I've had to replace a couple of wheels and the handle (cracked) but the motor starts all the time. I,ll never buy anything but a honda if this thing EVER quits - more likely the deck will rot away - but that doesn't look like it's going to happen any time soon either ! -
Congrat's not an easy route to take I'm sure... but certainly worth it !!

I went the extra leaf route with my 2000 ford ranger - worked wonders for the sag problem. I had the local spring shop set me up - they told me they're doing all the time on the rangers for exactly that reason - eliminate the sag. And frankly I don't notice a big difference in the ride. I would recommend this definitely

Thanks guys - does anyone know much/anything about Kiosk, Brent or Achray campgrounds in the park ?

My wife and I are looking to spend a week or so in Algonquin - first time without the kids - and we haven't been there for several years (many). We're looking for a nice spot to spend a week - a drive to campsite - not too wild - but not too "urban" either. Not taking my boat - likely do some canoeing - but nothing too exotic at this stage. Hopefully do a bit of fishing too - maybe some small mouth - again - nothing too serious. Any recommendations from those with experience there ? Thanks very much.

Wanted to be, but got talked into moving furniture to-nite instead (yuk). How was the show/turn out ?

Tough day I'm sure. Keep the good memories close !! thoughts and prayers are with you.

#1 - make sure its INSURANCED. Cable through the wheels and locked to the frame - if it gets pulled away the tire ain't turning. And it's parked right outside my bedroom window. I've always been told the hitch/ball locks are pretty much useless - they just take the hitch off.

The time you spent together and the bond you formed is a blessing and a gift. My condolences.

done - keep up the great reports !
