  1. Sorry for your loss Bernie. Our old boy is looking older and older every day. He is 11 this April and still thinks he is a pup but I see him slowing down on the stairs and such. My wife says She sees the same thing is happening with me! I dread the day when we have to deal with the same thing as you are going through.
  2. Wow Lew! I can't believe I totally missed the fact that you got yourself a new boat! I'm sure there must have been a few posts on the subject before now? That is one sweet looking set-up. Did you trade the Crestliner in? That would have been a nice boat to pick-up. Congratulations!
  3. Thanks for the speedy recovery guys. Nice work! Good to see you on here Rick!
  4. If you actually had to attend a course, I would have no problem with it. When you take a simple 15 minute test and pay anywhere from $40.00 to $60.00, it is a cash grab only! Pisses me right off!
  5. Thanks Mike! I've also seen that video and read the story quite a few times. Don't make the "choking up" any less just the same. A great story, but tough to watch without feeling something.
  6. Awesome report Sinker! Thanks for sharing the day out with the youngsters.
  7. Muddler, Amen Brother! Very well worded and an intelligent point of view! I don't exactly work in the public school system, but my eldest Daughters are both in the process of going through University to be High School Teachers. I'm seeing what they have to go through and put up with. I also have a Daughter that works for a Teacher's Supply store and can verify first hand that these teachers are supporting the classes and programs out of their own pockets. Good and bad in every profession, but don't knock someone unless you have and are capable of walking in their shoes!
  8. Thanks TJ, Much appreciated!
  9. Glad to hear things worked out ok in the end Cliff! That Sue sounds like quite a woman! Now tell me honestly, was she doubled over laughing when the ambulance crew called for back-ups for the "extraction"?LOL
  10. Sorry to hear of your loss, Ron. My condolences, and I'll be thinking of you and your family tonight. Brian

  12. Ol' GW is probably thinking "where were all these people when I was inaugurated?" Looks like a few people were nodding off during the speech! LOL
  13. Way to go Gerritt! Keep it up!
  14. I was / am, a Refrigeration, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Mechanic. I worked 26 years in the Commercial / Industrial sector and specialized in Laboratory and Test equipment service for most of that time while teaching part time nights and week-ends. I gave it all up a little over a year and a half ago to teach the trade full time to Apprentices. We deliver the day school program through the Ministry of Trades, Colleges, and Universities to three levels of Apprentices from September until June. I now have the pleasure of molding impressionable young minds and souls to do things properly and safely for many years to come. I love what I do and get a ton of satisfaction from being around these young men and women all day! When you have the opportunity to play a role in forging other peoples careers, and assisting them to learn their craft that will ultimately result in them earning a decent living and raising their families comfortably, it really makes an old man feel good!
  15. 6 more weeks of winter?????? March 21st is in 7 weeks anyways! Even with all this damned snow piled up everywhere, you could smell spring in the air around these parts the last couple of days too.
  16. Lew, Sorry to hear this. You have my condolences as well. Take Care, Brian
  17. I have a 2005 GMC Safari that I bought new. The only reason I bought this vehicle was I needed the room of a mini van, and this was the only real choice when it came to towing capacity and rear wheel drive. Overall, I am not the least bit impressed with the thing to date! Outdated features and lots of little things have gone wrong with it. It is full of rattles and is drafty in any kind of winter weather. It has absolutely no place to put my size 12 boots due to the wheel humps taking up so much space. Ahhh well, what can you do? I tow a 17 foot Bass boat and a larger 6 1/2' x 12' utility trailer loaded with fire wood. I have a 2003 Toyota Rav 4 for getting to and from work. 60 km each way cost a small fortune in the van. The Toyota is only a 2.0L 4 cylinder, and can't tow much more than itself. It is however reasonable on fuel at 10 liters per 100km (28 MPG HWY) and very stable in this winter weather with all wheel drive.
  18. LOL, Beards stick together!
  19. Come on TJ, that was Me, Myself, and I! That makes three in my books!
  20. Feb 13, 14th 15, and 16th 2009
  21. Feb 13, 14, 15, and 16th 2009 That's two!
  22. Feb. 13, 14, 15, and 16th 2009
  23. Gerritt, I'm having a brain fart and can't remember the company, but John Derringer on Q107 ships his bike out to the West Coast with this company. He always raves about the great service and care they take with his Harley. I haven't heard the ads for a while now, but someone must remember the company? You are a lucky fellow....now get her and bring her back home!
  24. When I used to catch fish, I did mine like Brian does in the second video!
  25. douG, You mean to tell me that ain't appo juice in that jug???? LOL
