It would come down to personal preference. Just make sure it is roomy under the arms (vest style) and Transport Canada approved. I like the ones that are mesh backed for summer weather to help stay cool.

What a wonderful post Splashhopper! Makes us all want to stop for a minute or so and think. The first picture with Botbot and her friend with her first fish is priceless and brings a huge smile to my face as well!!! That is one photo they will want to reflect back on in years to come. Wayne, I am so sorry to read this and hear of your sister's passing. What a terrible shame to go so young. I am 49 myself for a few more days and can't imagine something like this happening at this age. You have my deepest condolences. Brian

This guy sounds really, really good to me! Great exposure for him and his band, .....not so good for United. Too bad things have to come to this point before they come good on their mistakes! I never could understand how any airline could treat passengers luggage this way when the passengers are sitting on the plane WATCHING! Imagine what they do when we can't see them? I have witnessed this behaviour several times myself on different airlines.

The big pond visible from the road at Ken Whillans park has trout as well. There is a second pond set back a bit to the South that has Bass. Good luck!

Yep, Both Minn kota and Motorguide make good products. I am partial to Minn Kota because it is what I have always had. Parts and service are readily available. I have a 65# thrust, 24 volt cable steer model that is great! The boat is an older fiberglass bass boat that is a pig by weight! It is very rugged and dependable. It has the variable speed option that maximizes battery life. This is a good feature on either brand.

Sorry, but the details about the park at Rice Lake are a little vague to nail it down. There is a Provincial Park there called Serpent Mounds? Lake Dalrymple is just outside of Orillia (East) and there is a bridge between the Upper and Lower Lakes that you could fish at. Unfortunately, public access is diminishing these days. There is also a public fishing pier at Couchiching Beach park in Orillia. Could be crowded though. I believe there are docks at Barrie in Kempenfelt Bay, but not sure if they allow fishing there. Others will probably know.
