  1. I am no expert and I don't know what the tongue weight would be but I don't see why either of those vehicles would have an issue pulling your boat.
  2. I don't mind lunkerville. He might be the crappiest fisherman ever but I really don't mind it. Then again I also like the Charlie Moore Fishing show. Don't know why but I don't mind it at all.
  3. 15" good for the bathtub. 15' fiberglass is fine on Simcoe (possibly)
  4. Welcome Is that your 306 in your avatar? Nice little car. It is no 205 GTI but still good lol. oh by the way, no Peugeots in this country.
  5. Good to see some ofners on tv. Good job by Extreme Angler as well
  6. Nice pic Rob
  7. Great shots. Those eyes look huge. Why can't I catch Simcoe walleye??? East side of lake always gets pwned by ice. My friends cottage is about 100ft away from the water and up a hill and the ice still manages to wreck something every year.
  8. As if I am building snowmen in April. Only took a few minutes. Some really heavy snow and it is still coming down. This is the first time I can remember a snow day in April. All the houses in my neighbourhood are sporting snowmen. Pic of me with my two older daughters. My youngest was napping and missed out on all the fun but she is outside playing in the white stuff now.
  9. I live in Barrie. Wow this is April!!!! No fishing for me this week.
  10. He just replied to the Simcoe thread titled "get your boats out". He was out fishing today on the Kbay.
  11. Yeah I think you are correct. Makes my scenario a moot point. So instead of a tournament lets just say we had 8 in livewell and we were fishing (non-tournament). Do I still get charged for having over 6 bass despite the fact I have only caught 4?
  12. Ice did go out quick. I will be tout there sometime this week I hope.
  13. that is very nice indeed.
  14. THanks for the advice. I know that hookset to release. There are times on a downrigger that Iknow I have a fish and have to do the 'hookset release' to get it off the downrigger. When it is released the planer board slides down the line in front of the lure. Do you guys used a swivel or bead to stop it from making its way all the way down to the board or do you use double relalese and remove it from the line while reeling fish in?(I have seen this on TV in quinte where fishing buddy removes planer board from line part way through fight).
  15. they are small ones. They are called Offshore OR34. THey are reversible. Not great lakes boards but should sufice for a beginner and for inshore lakes. here is a link. http://www.offshoretackle.com/OR34.html I have not received them yet as I just purchased them.
  16. If it is bass we are talking about then you are allowed 6. I know the MNR changed the rules on culling just so they could do it bass tourneys. Before, you could only cull once. It was crazy.
  17. Yeah I just bought a couple of planer boards that attach to the line. Thanks I think i have good understanding. It will be more obvious when I get my first fish on one I suspect.
  18. Ok I usnderstand. I will definately be able to tell when I have a fish on. Myu second question, of to which you have eluded, is what happens to fish that are too small to break the line free from the release. I remember this being a problem for me 23 years ago when I began fishing simcoe for lakers. We would set the release too hard and end up dragging a small laker for 45 mins at time. Ended up drowning the poor fish. I guess you just have to check the board regularly to make sure you haven't caught a random perch.
  19. So how about this scenario? I am in a bass tournament with a co-angler. We are going to weigh in our 5 biggest fish. We have caught 8 between us and now we decide to cull the 3 smallest. As we are culling the CO arrives and asks how many bass I have in my livewell (keep in mind that I have but one livewell in my boat). I tell him we have eight. We both have sport fishing licenses and I have caught 5 bass and my partner has caught 3. Nothing illegal has happened but it is similar to the bucket. I can't prove that I didn't catch all 8 and because it is my boat and my livewell am I going to be charged? I don't think this charge would stand in court. I find that hard to believe. I do my best to stay within the law when I am out fishing and I truly do not believe that I would have commited a wrong if I were to do what was written in my above scenario.
  20. Ok but what happens if it does release like it is supposed to? Does it just start moving around or does it get pulled under?
  21. When using a planer board, how do I know when I get a strike? I know the line will release but will the board begin to trac in a different manner or will the fish start to pull it under? Sorry if this is a basic question, but I am buying a planer board and want to make sure I know how to use it before I hit the water. I have another question but I will wait to get a reply on this one before I ask it.
  22. 2.5' not 2.5" 30" of ice.
  23. Oh, here we go.
  24. Pretty sure it is an Atlantic.
  25. Leafs let the Habs win so the season series would be tied at 3 a piece. Yeah that's the ticket.
