  1. THe awful weather could not keep me off the water. I booked this day off (got a pass from the wife) a month ago and I was going fishing no matter what. Decided to fish wasaga beach (was not my choice but it was not my boat either so I really had no choice). Morning weather and conditions were less than desirable but we kept on. Eventually when a bad fog rolled in we decided to troll in the river. I got to use my new mini planer boards and they worked very well. All fish were caught on planer board lines. Over all we ended up with 1 nice chrome steelhead and 2 catfish. One cat was 10 pounds and the other was an impressive 27 pounds!!!
  2. Great to see you getting out again and giving us reports full of big fish. Are you done done school or just done for this year?
  3. Bass season must be approaching. Good to see you posting again. Can't wait for your big hog reports we are so used to.
  4. congrats on the fish. I believe some of them to be OOS. The hold that you have on that first pike pic my be the most unorthodox hold I have ever seen. I need to learn it.
  5. League won't move to a market where there is already a strong following. They look to areas where there is a potential to increase interest in hockey and make that area fall in love with the game and end up starting up grass roots hockey and grow it that . It is a long term thing to get more people to play and take an interest in hockey. Moving a team to southern ontario will not result in more kids playing hockey and as a result making money for hockey in general. Kids/people in general already play hockey and have a great interest in it in Southern ontario. You probably can't squeeze any more water from these rocks. Tapping into a new or emerging market is the best way to increase interest ($$$$$$$$) for the game. Kind of a messed up outlook but unfortunatly that is the nature of the beast. It is all about the Benjamins.
  6. friends don't let friends buy ugly sticks. It is a casting rod so I would go with a 7' 1 piece m or mh. Almost every manufacturer makes one in that price range. There are a few decent fenwicks around and the St Croix Mojo is in that price category as well. I like my 7ft rods better than my 6'6 rods but that is just my $0.02
  7. Thanks Raf. I have never run two rods there or even on Lake Ontario when I used to fish it 20 years ago. I don't think you were allowed 2 rods/person back in the day anyway.
  8. I am trying to find out whether I can troll 2 rods per person in Georgian Bay, more specifically wasaga Beach. Here is what I read in the MNR regs. An angler may use only one line, unless otherwise stated in the regulations. Two lines may be used when angling from a boat in parts of the Great Lakes (refer to the Exceptions to the Zone Regulations for the zone in which you are fishing). I also read the Zone 14 rules and I didn't see any exception. Can I run two rods per person if I am trolling in Georgian Bay in front of the beach in Wasaga?
  9. That grand slam was hardly mamoth. The field is 360ft center field. That shot was just a fly ball out in a regulation field. Oh well, home field advantage. My work colleague pitched 2 innings in that game.
  10. Pretty sure he means he will wat some baby cardinals, maybe
  11. I think highdrift wants you to keep the name and location of the lake to yourselves to avoid ruining what appears to be an awesome fishery.
  12. you must have spilled your drink on it or something like that.. If you maximize the pics the blue and red is really clear
  13. Those are funny. Would have liked to see one with the big body builder girl. I would have chosen her as my extreme net woman.
  14. That auxka. Can't stand theft. Hope I never catch someone doing that to my car. What are the criticisms about the XOG. My buddy and I use his in his truck and on the lake. He uses a navionics chip and it works very well so far. For the price of $150 he has a gps for his car and he uses on his boat as well (He also has the RAM holder mounted to the boat).
  15. About 22 years ago I remember trolling just out from the mouth of the notty in anywhere from 7 - 14 ft of water. Basically out in front of the beach. We used to use jointed rapalas and little cleos. We would always catch a few nice steelhead. My question is, do people still do this? Are there fish there? Was thinking of trying it this weekend but am wondering if it is just a waste of time.
  16. LOL. When I first read this I thought the you were wading in the water and a big male trout swam full speed into your scrotum. I had the wrong bag in mind. That would have been something to see.
  17. I want to fish near here and be able to fish for both pike and walleye. ight hit up Couch.
  18. I use a 5/0 worm hook. I too was skunked, hmm wonder why? Not true. I went perch fishing and caught a bunch. Back to the question. When my buddy fishes with pink trout worms he will go up to size 6 hooks in extreme cases, but generally has 10s and 8s. Don't know how that compares with others. Maybe he is wrong but he catches more fish in the river than I do.
