  1. I have about 4 tubs of the stuff and I no longer peel it back I cut a hole in the middle and leave the gasket seeled around the edges. Still leaks a bit but nto bad. I had 2 replaced by pure fishing no questions asked. Great service.
  2. I saw another 3 robins today and I thought about doing all those other things.
  3. you can get tehm for under 2k brand new.
  4. Holy Crap!! You cauught a 40 foot pike?!?!?!!!!! JK Sometimes you just have to the best with what you got and simler can at times be better. I go out sometimes in my 12' tinner and take 3 rods with me. My fishing buddy does the same and now we have 6 rods in a little boat. Not good. 7' medium action rod with 12 pound line and a good quality spinning reel. Go for it.
  5. You are correct Steve. My buddy underestimated how many people would be there at 9am. It is his fault. I was just laughing a bit because the guy in front of him got a reel. I thought they would actually have about 100 of the reels but the US BPS were running the same reel deal there so the TO BPS might have got less reels due to the fact that there are probably busier bigger stores in the states with more baitcaster users (maybe). Plus our sale was later so who knows. Maybe a few of the TO reels got moved elsewhere.
  6. I caught them in a trib. I released the pike but as you can see I kept the steelhead. I hope to keep this pike spot a secret so I can't tell you guys where it is. All I am saying is that it is a trib.
  7. lol at this thread. Those are some nice looking fish.
  8. I use it. Drop shot the leech and minnow. Very good for smallies. Which bait did you get? Minnows?
  9. Hey Limey, Don't forget that it is Mother's day tomorrow.
  10. My buddy drove to BPS from Guelph to buy the door crasher Quantum reel. He got there at 9am and there was a line. As you walk in they hand out tickets for reel (one per customer) which is fair. Anyway to make a long story short, he figures he was about 30th in line (probably was 50th) and the guy in front of him got the last one (which was a left hander). I guess the early bird gets the worm. I also guess it is not a scam as they did have the reels there but not too many, that is for sure.
  11. ??? Maybe with a worked in Cummins Diesel. Those are pretty optimistic numbers. I have a friend with an 06 Ram 5.7 with the MDS and he can only 19 mpg and that is driving 100 km/h on a very flat section.
  12. What engine in the sierra 5.3? Is it the new Dodge Ram with the storage in the rear fenderwells? Does it have the new 5.7 390 hp ish? IF it is that one then it is a no brainer. Get the new Dodge. It has won every head to head with the new ford and GM.
  13. It is true about accuracy with a baitcaster, but I was assuming he was talking more about plastics lighter than a senko. I throw senkos with my baitcaster as well but if I skipping weightless tubes I will use a spinning outfit. You can stil skip pretty accuratley with a spinning outfit. Pitching and flippin are another story though. If I need to hit an exact spot, you won't beat a baitcasting reel.
  14. Can anyone tell me anything about this reel and what it would be worth. Is it any good or a piece of junk? It says it has 2 bearings and is made in Czechoslovakia.
  15. Anytime you start casting really light stuff with a baitcaster it becomes a bit tricky. I would stick with the spinning setup for the lighter finess style fishing. It is also more difficult to find light action casting rods.
  16. Saw a robin yesterday and another today. woo hoo!
  17. Hey That smaller fish your son is holding. That doesn't really look like a laker. It almost looks like a hybrid of some kind. Maybe it is just young.
  18. I decided to take the whole week off. And yes Rob, I am enjoying my march break.
  19. Yes. Having said that I was also drop shotting with micro tubes on the same line as the minnow and it was about 50/50. When the bite was on early the tubes were great but when it slowed the minnows worked much better. I ended up drillin 20 holes today and fished from 17' to 45' and caught fish in every hole.
  20. Yep, close to home indeed. I had some big minnows on for pike as well and had something hit it but it didn't stick around. Pulled up and no minnow.
  21. Nothing huge but a couple nice perch. Let a bunch go as well. The bite was on early in the morning and fell off a bit by 11 ish, so I called it a day. Ice was still about 14" thick but not in the best of shape near shore. Gaps could be forming near shore.
  22. Two wrongs don't make a right, but three lefts do.
