  1. Maybe you are correct. Just young I guess. Maybe the angle is not correct for me to identify it.
  2. That second pike certainly looks alot like a musky to me!!! That is a nice fat pike. IF that is your first musky then I say congrats to you.
  3. Nice fish. indeed. I want to catch some of those.
  4. Thanks. I also studied zone 15 as well and there didn't look like there was a closed season there either.
  5. I have read the regs for zone 16 and I have come to the conclusion that crappie is open all year round. The reason I am questioning this is that I read on another thread that there was opening day for crappie. Am I legal to fish for crappie right now? I read the exceptions and could not find a statement that would suggest otherwise. thanks
  6. So i talked with a couple of guys who puddle jump there. They have been doing it for about a month now and they actually have that tinner on shore to get sleds out that go through. THey are puddle jumpin in about 4 ft of water and almost everyday a sled sinks. It is not a big deal. They take the tinner off the shore and attach ropes to the sled and drag it back to shore. They have done this numerous times this year. This time the officer decides to throw a life jacket / safety charge at them. Kind of funny but not really nice.
  7. lol. I will ask him but I am giving you no guarantees. He made less this year than last year. He is a good guy despite his inflated salary. lol
  8. You are kidding right? We need to hook up for a trip. Get your pops boat and we will hit up some spots this summer. I was just told tonight that I no longer have a trailer for my tinner.

    NEW PB

nice!!! Do I see that you already have a string of 10 lamprey attached to your belt? Youshould have packed it in and gone home!
  10. Simcoe has a limited number of eyes but they are all huge. I haven't seen a walleye under 4 pounds out of the lake.
  11. If he already has two on the stringer I say fish all you want but I better not see that third one on there.
  12. Yeah I thought so. The clown probably got ice fishing and softwater fishing mixed up. I did an internet search and came up empty so I figured I was being duped.
  13. I know it is april fools but I heard this from a very unreliable source.
  14. that is true. Did you hear that everybody, there is no fish in Simcoe. Don't bother fishing Simcoe, all the fish are gone. That is true
  15. I heard a goofy rumour that we might be allowed 2 rods per person on simcoe? THis isn't true is it? I know it is April fools day but I am not trying to be funny. Any comment?
  16. This is my uncle. http://people.forbes.com/profile/paul-d-melnuk/63149
  17. They don't deserve that kind of coin, but teachers do.
  18. My understanding is that there are very few smelt left in southern Ontario due to the fact that Darryl Choronzey might have eaten them all. Not sure if this is true or not but that is the word on the creek.
  19. looks at the poor people in Beaverton. They get crushed by ice every year.
  20. Nice fish. And night time to boot.
  21. I have lived in 5 different countries on 4 different continents and have visited countless others. When you narrow it down shoot me a PM and I will let you know what I think. I spent my honeymoon in the Maldives at a 5 star resort. Pretty much had what felt like our own island to ourselves. Incredible time in an impressive place. I also lived in Dubai for 8 years. Australia, Germany and England. If you have any questions about those or other neighbouring countries, I do have some knowledge.
  22. you don't need really calm water to use top water baits. I actually have as much or more success with a little ripple. cast, pause for a bit and twitch pause (poppers) walk the dog with spooks and sammy. I throw loads of weedless frogs (spro bronzeye frog) throw into the thickest gunk you can find and reel straight in. When you see the fish hit wait a second and set the hook as hard as you can. It is fun but a bit frustrating as the hookup rate is not as high as other lures. My most recent topwater lure taht I have been throwing for bass and pike are the wakebait. The swim at the surface or just below and create a wake. THey are fun to use as is any topwater bait. If I throw a buzzbait I will often burn it back with a straight retrieve.
  23. go to another river. serioulsy, there is something wrong with the notty these days.
  24. lol. mike the bass fisher. He knows. I thought you two guys hung out together.
  25. That is great. I have 3 girls. oldest 7 and the youngest is 2. WHen I take all three out it is mayhem! But I love it. My kids love to fish for the minnows in the bucket. Poor minnow take a beating everytime we go out. Congrats on the PB perch. Looks like dinner to me. nice
