  1. Barrie got lucky. Rain then freezing rain then rain. Warmed up fast after that to +1. Barrie did a great job on the roads. They had the salt basted on the roads before it all hit. Breeze drive home.
  2. Steve, that was awesome. Some think it,s the end of the world when little things like this happen. Just think of how our families past dealt with this. They had nothing we do today, to make it comfortable, as we can now. Then again, they had thier way too.
  3. Back when there were large schools of rainbow smelts here on Simcoe, we used wool strands on a hook. They never took the hook, but thier small tiny teeth would get caught in the wool. It was a blast to get them this way.
  4. I was shown a way that the minnow stays natural and it , to my surprise, stayed alive. You put the hook through the mouth and bring it out behind the head. Missing the brain. Dont ask how they dont die, as I dont know, but works.

  21. Most hut rentals will have stuff to buy that you will need. If you need. Your post brought back the days of just tip ups and not knowing what was under the ice. If you want to feel the full effect of the old days, just get a couple of tip ups and try different depths. Thanks for making me remember the ole days. Crap, I need to charge my finder battery for the weekend. LOL

    Icewater :)

I took some like that a few years ago during a deer hunt. I just love the way the ice forms on over hanging stuff. Great shots.

  24. Cooks bay, Terry Goys. Long time operator.
  25. Is the sun closer to you then here? I can deal with the -27 and sun with no wind. Today it was -7 and damp as hell. Went right through me. When we were out saturday, -18 and sunny. Beauty day. Sunday was -13 with all that snow. Felt much colder.
