  1. As usual, Dunn right awesome!great report mate.
  2. Does it has the 24v i-pilot on the front? If not, might be a great opportunityto get one! 2 12v deep cycle batteries will do the trick of adding weight to the front.
  3. Try adjusting your trim when you have planes out.
  4. I just bought the V2 with i pilot, 70lb thrust @ 24volts. I used the anchor mode and it works great! As far as deploying it, no problems, it is far easier than deploying and hoisting an anchor in a 120 fow! That motor is so quiet! Before I bought mine I was going with the 12v but the rep for Minn Kota (who works for GE/Hitatchi as an electrical engineer) convinced me to go with the 24v system as was said in previous posts, they will give you far more life for the day of fishing. I didn't buy the onboard chargers as I had the ones you get from CTC that are like the battery tender. They work great and I just plug them when I get home and they are ready to go the next day. 5. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS :thumbsup_anim: :thumbsup_anim: Good Bye Bruins! Rob C
  6. I made a trailer using a Toyota tercel axle, just so I wouldn't have to change the bearings all the time, and so I could use car tires. Rob C
  7. Thanks Simon, That is what I was worried about, so I might just go with the 24v. Keep up with the awesome fishing seminars you are holding up there! Rob C
  8. Nice work there Simon, sure do envy you getting out for eyes this early! I think I heard you say that you really like your I pilot! Where did you end up getting it and what model did you go with. Is yours the 24v or 12v. I am looking at getting one as well, I have a 16' widebody with a fifty horse 4 stroke. Not sure if I should go with the 12v or 24v as I don't want to be under powered and I would prefer to keep my battery system 12v. Any suggestions would help. Thanks Mate! Rob C
  9. If you start to charge people for rescue operations, you will now run the risk of people trying to rescue themselves to avoid paying for it. Personally, I feel that 200 bucks is reasonable considering the one guys had been rescued 3 times. He has not learned his lesson, and THAT is why they are being charged. If it was me, I would go and thank them, donate thé $200 and apologize for my poor judgement. But hey, that is just me.
  10. He is only doing this because it is taking way to much time to get environmental assessments completed. Remember he wants to run a pipeline from Alberta to the BC coast to supply our newly oil hungry friends on the east. This will be the stepping stone of things to come. Rob C
  11. Ha typo bud! Fixed it up, bet you were wondering how I was doin that! Rob C
  12. About 18 mpg. That is when I first got it. I am going to be going on a trip with it soon and will see if it has improved. I have 17k on it right now and was told it will get better milage once it is over 15k. We'll see!, but it is a truck not a Nissan Leaf, I had a Windstar and it is better on gas than that! Rob C
  13. I too have a 2011 f150 fx4 - ecoboosted with the short box. I have had no problems at all with it. Gas mileage is great on the highway just So-so in town. When those turbo's kick in, it will throw your head back in the seat! Rob C
  14. There are a couple of spots in Oro that you could put a small boat in now. Just past the 7th on ice road is one spot and the other would be the 6th line. You would need a 4x4 due to the snow and ice on the road to the water, but the shoreline is pretty much free of ice. I haven't checked the 9th line boat launch so not sure how it is looking. Rob C
  15. Yup your right Bill it is all gone. The only ice is from the 4th line of Oro west to Barrie. Believe it or not there were 4 guys fishing within 200 to 300 feet of the water past the 4th. Talked to a CO that was going to check them when they came in and he said the ice was about 2-3" of pretty crappy ice. Rob C
  16. I think that having a healthy population of herring is not only good for lake trout but also for Musky, bass, wall-eye and pike. Herring aren't just 1-2lbs in size, they will also school up as smolts and will provide good forage food for the smaller predators like bass. I hope they do allow people to take herring, 1 to 2 fish is adequate, the days of a bushel full are well behind us, but limiting what people can take is fine. Rob C
  17. Nasty Nick. You can get them at Trombly's on Orillia.
  18. Come out and I'll show you how! Rob
  19. I use these chargers, these work great and they go on sale quite a bit for about 40 bucks. They have auto shut off and have a 3 year warranty. Rob C
  20. Tell me your arms aren't sore! That's like having a good day of Perch fishing down here! Rob C
  21. I've had my suzuki for 14 years and it has never let me down.
  22. I'm not sure who has meaner looking eyes.. you or that Crappy! :clapping: Rob C
  23. Awe I can See Brian! I can See! Nice little snot rockets there Terry! You guys will have to change the gear ratio on that thing and get some of that Ice chewed up with those chains. One would have to assume that those Geese or cranes took off when they saw you guys motoring across the lake with that machine! Rob C
  24. Wow can she thow that ball! I still have to throw those 10 pin balls Granny style!! WTG Jen! Rob C
  25. Gerrrit, like Joey said these cases are almost all settled out of court. I am sure she filed the case against you before the 2 year limit to file the statement of claim. You will be covered, but definitely talk to your insurance company to make sure that you have adequate coverage for the claim (I am sure you do, because your insurance company would let you know if you didn't...usually!) If you submit anything to your insurance company, keep a copy of everything and most of all...RELAX that is why you have insurance for these kinds of things!! Rob C
