  1. Not sure if you read my above posts...there is nothing wrong with using frogs...i used them for years and still have family that uses them...by "locals" where I fish every summer for 2-4 weeks the locals that i see time and time again still use them and i dont have anything bad to say about it...kinda miss using them but for me it's too easy to catch bass with a real frog...so I stopped using live bait(soft water) and haven't looked back as I like a challenge when fishing. The show is alright sometimes but my dad always call's him "mr boring haha"...instant channel change most times but I've watch a few of his live bait segments. To say there are slightly wrong for showing kids how to hook up live bait is stupid and to be honest, be thankful that a hand ful of young ones are fishing and watching fishing shows. But hey, everybody has something to say. In this world the younger kids are better off using a frog and catching bass young as I did.
  2. I can see your point some but frogs barely get used anymore except for the rowboat "locals" i see time and time again...get real fella's...I hate to see what people think of hunting let alone stupid frogs. I think it's time to put this topic to rest.
  3. And as a side note they are the best thing to use for buckets....mark my words on that 1...if it wasn't soo easy then I would still be using them with that great eagle claw weedless hook in the duck weed.....ooooo baby..old times
  4. From a young kid to the age of 14 or 15 I always used frogs for bait, never bothered me 1 bit. I always rathered a bag of frog's than a dozen minnows or worms...back then we could buy them and catching them was simple in the right location....The fishergirl parts on his show are alright, they show the kids some good stuff...
  5. I for one watch too much fishing shows when I'm back in Oshawa and chillin at home. Sure you only see a select amount of baits in any one show but the point is that after the show like The Show, Extreme Angler, and the Lost Lake/Classic Pattern's type shows you understand how to really fish a certain lure or technique. Classic Pattern's yesterday gave me lot's of great info on how to fish deep crankbaits right down to color, line, rod, retrieves and tips on avoiding cover etc...I would rather a show that focus on specific baits week after week, they may be the same brand as they are on the shirt but regardless any show when I can sit for a half hour and learn how to , work a LT perch for walleye, fish 1.5oz spinnerbaits deep etc.. this is why I watch TV. To talk crap about great Pro's and how they "market" everything is silly...what does a guy at a car lot do? His Job. Keep up the post's Dave and Mark, you two rank up top in my books and when I see your posts I read them well because unlike average joe I learn from you. Tightlines, Mike
  6. Obviously haha, looked like a Chronarch on that setup too...
  7. Do they compress down as easy as the Snag Proof Perfect frogs Steve? Only thing I'm not sure about, needs to be a good soft frog or appearance doesn't matter. Mike
  8. Nice reel....I have handled both Stradics 10 times now and just can't decide what one I want to buy in a week or two
  9. Nice HAWG!
  10. Great pictures Joey, I feel bad I never go to these events that OFC hosts. When I can start driving this upcoming years end I'll be attending events and getting to know EVERYBODY! Thanks for sharing!
  11. I bought the LT Blueback Herring swimbait, its around 4 or 5 inches long and looks awesome, can't wait to try it and buy some more in different sizes. Not falling for the frog's, my snag proof's are super squishy and perfect.
  12. Use it for a lithger setup like your thinking. 8lb fluoro or light braid would be sick with that reel. Nice reel, share a pic of the setup when you choose a rod, can't beat a high end St Croix
  13. That's a species change, great catches! Thanks for sharing, MTBF
  14. This thread has sparked my interest in a new motor again. Can anybody share a dealers location in/around Ontario?
  15. Amazing video, showed my dad and uncle it just now...boggles my mind how they can fish that deep and catch a true wonder of the world down there...Thanks for posting this.
  16. Congrads man, I didn't get mine this year, wont be on trout waters again until next time around. Thanks for sharing, MTBF
  17. Very cool to see that, great catch of fish too! Thanks for sharing, MTBF
  18. Anybody got a weigh in link with photo's to share?? Congrads to him, he's a unreal angler. I wan't to be as talented as him one day.
  19. Was there today also, just took a few pictures of the boats. Good show, a first time for me. JP had a decent seminar there today. Was also nice to stop and talk to the CO's that were there, lot's of good info these guys gave me in part to my schooling etc.. Here are a few pic's
  20. Are the frogs nice and soft comparable to the Snag Proof's?
  21. This is a very stupid and pathetic world we live in. Bookmark this link and keep it there. When you have the time watch this video, it's long but it shows other ways of how our world is crazy. Hope the man get's justice and is cleared of charges. If this was happening, first thing I would do is call the cops say this and that is wrong then outside i go.
  22. Get a St Croix Avid spinning(love mine) and get a Saros 2500 or Stradic 2500....should be enough cash for the setup.
  23. St Croix has some Legend Elite and Xtreme's that are 2 piece. Same with there Avids, I got a Avid...it's nice and lite.
  24. Small pond sized back bay I fished this summer on a lake just with nothing with rock and deep trees and log's(20ft down), pulled 2 or 3 small largies off of the drop walls but never used it again...great look but just something I don't use as much as I should. Next season
