  2. Send me a pic buddy, I got to see it.
  3. Looked like a good time, Thanks for sharing, MTBF
  4. I asked Dad and Doug what they thought, also had my Uncle out today for his first trip, I'm sure they were a little scared but I know I was last season on my first outing. It measured at 10" at our furthest rod from shore.
  5. Hey OFC, well this Monday I finally got out for some ice fishing, I took my dad out and my little brother(little bro's first trip ever). We did alright on the first trip on Monday. We fished from 4-7ft of water in a small lake off of Lake Ontario. On Monday my little brother caught his first perch through the ice and also the first fish of our season, made him real happy. The perch we caught on the first trip were a good size from 8"-11" long. Here is a pic from Monday So, today we got out also for some more ice fishing, same place as last time, we fished from 11am-4pm and came up with 1 small....really small pike and another half dozen semi jumbo perch. The little guy came up empty and Dad caught the pike(his first ever). I caught a few nice perch...the perch were from 9"-12" long, this time tho we stuck it out in 10-11.6 ft of water. All in all I had a good time out with the family, a little frustrating but next time I'm sure well get some real fish Thanks for reading and here are the two photo's from today. Happy New Year
  6. Nice job, must of been lot's of fun. Not that guides aren't great but I wish he did more solo fishing trips out on the ice rather than all the loges and guide service trips. Thanks for sharing, MTBF
  7. and people are worried about ice sheds going through the ice early in the season...hmm what is worse a snow mobile at the bottom of the lake or a wooden hut. I think we need to take a look at the stupidity...sorry, if your on a sled and you go through a inch of ice or no ice at all....o well.
  8. Nice job buddy, those bowfin fight like hell through the ice i remember. Thanks for sharing, MTBF
  9. My little brother was up with lights on in his room at 3:30am He then woke me up at 4am...then again at 4:20...then again at quarter to 5 then we all got up at 5am lol. After a big breakfast at my grandma's i was back home and in bed by 12pm Just got up again a hour ago....what a day
  10. Agreed, good thing they keep the bait on a harness...kinda like a O ring on a senko, saves the bait so it can be used a few times.
  11. Perhaps that's the biggest smallie then of the season. I remember that fish, wow what a pig.
  12. O I know, the first was a little over 22" I think same as the 2nd fish. Easily would of been 6lbr's but that's the game. I fished deep water and caught 3lb fish that were the length of 2lbr's...just got to find the fatty's earlier in the season next summer. Nice smallie buddy, I had one around 3 and a half out of Sturgeon Lake...nothing any better though. Let's continue the hunt
  13. Just wondering if we know who caught the biggest Largemouth and Smallmouth bass of this past season. Biggest for me was a 5lb 8oz and a 5.0oz, never breached the 6lb mark but got over the 4lb mark a couple times. Hope the ice fishing has been good for everybody, I'll be on my first trip out this coming Sunday/Monday. Happy Fishing, MTBF 5.0 5-8
  14. Don't have any really old photo's but I some some from 2007. The first is from Nova Scotia and the second is just silly lol. Trying to find my first 6lb bass from the early 2000's when i was a young teen.
  15. I have a mag with that ad on the back, thought it was good...have you seen the shirts with that on it?? Maybe I should buy one for you.
  16. Cool stuff, that hut and heater look awesome. Wonder what santa will put under my tree this year
  17. Good stuff, a carp would be unreal through the ice.
  18. Nice job Rich, looking forward to getting out myself.
  19. Well my parents and uncle picked up some tackle for my birthday that I got last night. Here is the new stuff I got, still need lot's of jigs, spinnerbaits, plastics and froggys but it's a good start! Here's the stuff Some storm gear Few blade baits And some more stuff. I'm sure I'll post again after Christmas Have a great Christmas everybody, MTBF
  20. Nice job on the fishing, won't be out until next weekend Thanks for sharing, MTBF
  21. If I can find a fellow OFC member that want's to go for a drive from Lindsay to the nearest Costco let me know.
  22. 289, 299 seems to be the perfect price. There was a auger at CT in Lindsay for 299-3hp it was. If it's there after christmas im buying one. Can't beat it.
  23. I got a Eagle FishEasy 2 portable I got from a fellow member. Used it all ice season then noticed it said to keep out of extreme cold because it can muck up the crystal in the screen(something along those lines). I still used it in the summer time with not much difference. I'm using it for only ice fishing now because I want a separate unit for boat fishing. This cold/crystal issue might be because it's a older unit but I can't imagine you will have any trouble after using it all winter, i didn't.
