Ice is 9.5" thick at our furthest spot...I'm not a early season guy, only been out 3 times. Earliest was around the same ice thickness.

Hey guys, the report is picture shy today but had one of my better trips out on the ice today. Fished a lake off of Lake Ontario with my buddy GoneFishin from sun up until 4ish today. Managed one pike right off the hop then got only a few strikes but made a move to some perch water just after 11am. Here's the Pike, a little guy but a start. This was my 3rd trip out...bout time I got something with teeth Once we moved we fished live minnows off of bottom, pretty self explanatory. Here are my 2 biggest of the day, a both just barely under 12" with a pinched tail once thawed out and home. Until next weekend thanks for viewing, in total I probably managed about 8 or so perch, many in the 7-9 inch range with 1 dinker. Rick managed a half dozen perch towards the end, just didn't see the size today. Bite was tough. Tightlines, MTBF

I really think people don't sometimes. I know when I'm in serious trouble there is one number I'll call first. We have right's and we live them everyday, yes he might...might of made a mistake but sometimes when they think they have right right house...or the right car, the gun comes out or the door get's blown down. They do there job and if somebody was hurt then this is when it matters. I have thought about going into the OPP after college...but my goal in life is to be a Conservation Officer here in Ontario or gladly in another province. These are things I learn of every day, respect these guys...I don't need to say why.

Might cost you in the end but as long as you don't break the bank too much you can upgrads your gear, make it more refined and have some fun testing out new stuff.

The G20 is for another day...no comment

wow man that's a brute...mark my words OFC I'll get over the 7lb mark next year . How deep was the water under your topwater? Too bad the picture quality wasn't better, would be nice to have that pic on the wall.

That's a good way to look at it

They didn't win, they are not champions but runner ups. They are a great team and I'm sure they will try twice as hard like the pens the year after they lost the cup...and I'm sure they deserve respect and they are great players...blah blah blah...Are they happy with 2nd, obviously not. They know they fell apart and did terrible and so do I. Now time for beer, chicken fingers, and some quiet while I'm still home alone without the roommates...Good night fella's.
-
What was it me or bigugli that you responded to the 2nd time lol. Ah well guys, they did there best...or did they? Until next time, enjoy the gold Russia, they were the better team in the end right.
-
To be honest, I never watched the game, just read people crying on facebook...It's a game, there not both winners are they. We can't win every time, this time...they stunk in the 3rd...plain and simple.
-
Well if anything Canadian teams love there summer golf...these guys stink...don't try to defend our team...they just fell apart like a senko.

Mine was hooked up...then that was it, have not had 1 problem for 4 months now. Some reason the channel never leaves 419(WFN)....something's wrong

Ontario Needs To Change For Anglers
MCTFisher9120 replied to Aaron Shirley's topic in General Discussion
I agree with your statements, and honestly whats a extra $10 or 15 or 20 on our fishing license if it means we see garbage cans at our already "fishing" parking lot's. That dam causeway in Port Perry is first off disgusting and so are the people that make it this way. Things simple as the Conservation Authority running a truck by to take garbage cans would be good and would eliminate lot's I'm sure. Another thing I can point out is a increase of CO's. To add another 10 or 20 guys out there would make a strong difference and yes there is a price to pay but whats the price if we don't have more enforcement....it's amazing how many people fish for sportfish and don't care or are not informed on the importance of respecting seasons and limits(myself included a few years back) As far as protect the rivers and sensitivity I'm all for that, however if there is a small 4-12car parking lot there, throw down some new gravel and a few tin cans for garbage to jazz up our spots. We don't need to change much, just adapt to the new and ever growing fishery with simple but effective ways to keep out populations up, our garbage and pollution down. I can only imagine how many bags of garbage I will fill picking up trash around a few spots I fish close to home. Aaron good post bud. -
I get the Conservation license. Until I need to keep 5 bass in the boat(tournament) then I'm fine...I keep a few pike and panfish and have yet to have a fish I could not release these last 2 seasons.

Nice piglet's! Thanks for sharing, MTBF

Welcome to OFC buddy, great forum and please post fishing reports with pics often! MTBF

Targeting Pike this winter mainly, last season my biggest was a 32" pike I think it was. A 34" + Northern would be a goal for myself.
-
Here is a impulse but while at cdn tire this afternoon. Can't wait until bass season!
-
This is on the lite side of leaders for toothy fish but my 15lb Trilene Fluoro seems to hold fine to average size pike. I use it as a main line, useually for spinnerbaits and spoons and never break off. Might up to 17lb Fluoro this season but I'm fine with straight fluoro rather than braid/fluoro lead.

That's a pretty good story man lol, what a fish that is tho. I think one trip I'll make in a few years will be to Mexico or some of those big bass lakes in the states...catch fish like that every day Thanks for sharing, MTBF
