In Napanee, the Nephew already has the water in and the docks. Next week he should have the lifts in and we can launch the boats from the cottage. Should be pretty easy to maintain distance on the water.

I think the good judgement quote came from Dean Martin back in the day. Or he at least used it.

Well, that isn't exactly what he said what he said. He said he hoped it could be. So do I, not saying it will happen but I hope it would. A large portion of the media tends to distort or cherry pick what he says. Here, most of the decisions are made at the state level. Just this morning our Governor closed non essential businesses till April 17th. There is no federal mandate on much of anything.

We finally got our answer today about our summer trip to the cottage from the CBSA. We should be good since TW is still a Canadian citizen with a Canadian passport and with immediate family in Canada and I get to tag along. Very nice gentleman, he did suggest that if things haven't calmed down by 12 June to get a corona test and have the results with us. He did have a sense of humor in that he told us the difficulty at the border would depend on who was in the booth. Been there, done that.

I guess that site would be our version of The Onion. https://www.theonion.com/

I am sorry, I just saw this. We live on Bon Secour Bay which is really part of Mobile Bay. The near towns that people may have heard from are Gulf shores and Orange Beach. We are about 15 miles from the Florida line. If I don't catch seafood myself I get my stuff from here. https://www.billys-seafood.com/ I never seem to do it the same way twice. 1 carton (32 ounces) chicken broth 1 cup quick-cooking grits 1 can (10 ounces) diced tomatoes and green chiles, drained 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided Freshly ground pepper 2 tablespoons butter 1 medium green pepper, chopped 1 medium onion, chopped 1 pound uncooked shrimp (31-40 per pound), peeled and deveined 2 garlic cloves, minced Preheat oven to 350°. In a 13x9-in. or 2-1/2-qt. baking dish, combine broth and grits. Bake, uncovered, until liquid is absorbed and grits are tender, 30-35 minutes. Stir in tomatoes, Monterey Jack cheese and 1/2 cup cheddar cheese. Bake, uncovered, until heated through, about 10 minutes. Sprinkle with pepper and remaining cheese; let stand 5 minutes. In a large skillet, heat butter over medium-high heat; saute green pepper and onion until tender, 6-8 minutes. Add shrimp and garlic; cook and stir until shrimp turn pink, 2-3 minutes. Spoon over grits. That is a copy and paste from a cajun site, but I substitute, add extra, sorta depends on what I have . It gives you the idea though.

We have two 28 US gallon gas caddies at the cottage. I got my nephew to go over to Tyendinaga to fill them up with non cornsqueezings gas and then dose it up with Stabil. I want to say it was about that price. That should fish us awhile come June. -

For years I have used 1 part chlorine bleach to 8 parts water topped with a good squirt of Dawn. -

It all depends on how long Saudi and Russia stay in a urinating contest. -
I just read an article about the mask shortage. Basically, it comes down to three reasons. 1. Half of all masks in the world come from China. 2. Panic buying by the public. 3. Hospitals adopting just in time inventory and that dictates manufacturing schedules.

Penn did that. A few of the big winches are still made in New Jersey but all of their spinning reels are now made in China. I have three old Senator 4/0 level wind bottom level winds that I just have rebuilt. I have now switched to Shimano.

Yeah, I remember holding on to the corner of the full diaper and flushing to try and get the large clods off. -

We have to use circle hooks in the Gulf, especially for Red Snapper but they still have barbs. I guess if I am going to start seriously fishing in Ca. I better send myself to school. -

By June people will be having yard sales to try and get rid of the 2500 rolls of TP they bought. -
The beaches, even when jammed, there is more separation than in a grocery store. They closed the beaches in Alabama yesterday, but they should reopen after the spring break numnuts are gone.

I am ok with that, but it doesn't stop me from viewing things in context.

Scary words are thrown around on a daily basis but I try to keep a realistic perception. At this point in time , worldwide there have been slightly less than 9000 deaths out of a population of 7.8 billion.

The biggest Red fish I ever caught was from a Kayak. -
Today it was 1.80 a US gallon here (3.8 litres). I would rather it be 3 bucks a gallon and get the Dow back.

We aren't going for that, the Shrine Club will handle that. What I called about would be in the event that he had a health emergency.

worst hotel/motel youve ever stayed at!?

Best Western Belleville. My wife has MS and is in a power chair. Her sister passed away in 2014 and we had to stay in Belleville rather than the cottage. Of course we booked a Handicap room. Their version was to put a grab rail up. The chair wouldn't go through the bathroom door. You couldn't swing a cat in that room. -
Since the border has now closed to all but "essential" crossings which should be gone by the time we are ready to go to the cottage, I did contact my Senator about it. My Father in Law will turn 90 on Friday and in excellent health for his age, but if we had an emergency what would the procedure be? Their response was to contact their office and they would arrange for C19 tests and provide a letter with Richard Shelby's signature and send us on our way. Hopefully that will not come into play.
