  1. Are there any impacts on Great Lakes shipping?
  2. When I am trying to cut carbs, I use turnips in soups and stews. The key to a turnip not being bitter is never use one larger than a tennis ball. Emeril Lagasse <sic> tip.
  3. I used this outfit up there last year. https://www.grillspot.ca/ They are in Mississauga but I ordered online.
  4. Well, shortly after daybreak this morning I went fishing and did ok. Two flatties, three specs and 11 whiting. All are cleaned, vac sealed and most are in the freezer.
  5. Well, it is 74* here at about 6 pm. TW and I are out on the dock imbibing. We have a neighbor down the reach that does hair and I am on the schedule for Monday at 9. She is 66 and hasn't been anywhere since all of the hullabaloo started.
  6. At this point all of our ramps are open and the rule is no boats within 50 feet of each other and no more than 10 people per vessel regardless of size (doesn't make much sense). Not sure I understand the 50 ft in the open air and it is 6 feet on land, but I seldom am within 50 feet of another boat.
  7. Understood. I will put my good boy pants on.😇 Meanwhile, back at the ranch, how is the weather that way?
  8. As are 98% of all Canadians that I have met in the last 35 years.
  9. I understand, but the fact remains that he never replaced one single mask after the Swine Flu. Look, most everyone is going to be fine and this will all be in the rear view mirror sooner than later. I am a realistic guy, the media throws numbers out there for hysteria impact. If you notice, they always tout the number of cases but, never ever say how many have totally recovered. they also tout the numbers but never put them in context to the total population. Yeah, it is serious, is it going to pass, absolutely. I will admit that I have a huge independent streak and have never followed the herd mentality, but I absolutely refuse to let this thing totally upend my life. I will do my part to minimize it but I am not going to crawl into a hole and stop my life. I played golf this morning and we did the entire distancing thing, can't touch the flag and only one person per cart. It was great. I am going fishing in the morning dead by myself and will be far safer than those wearing masks going to Wallyworld.
  10. Look, I am not going to get into a urinating contest here, but for every rock thrown there is a legitimate one to be thrown back. Having been married to a Canadian since 1985, I fully understand the undercurrent of anti American sentiment. As I said before, be careful what you wish for.
  11. Keep in mind after H1N1 that Obama never replenished supplies afterward.
  12. If you were to break it down to a family level, you have to ask yourself if you would give assets to others while your family was lacking. These are not ordinary times and yes if the worst case scenario projections (no way that they are) it is gonna get ugly. Always remember be prepared to accept what you wish for.
  13. Misinformation and in some instances outright lies abound.
  14. There are a lot of half truths and misinformation going around these days. Amazon denied Smalls' accusations, saying it fired him for repeatedly "violating social distancing guidelines and putting the safety of others at risk" after it asked him to stay home on paid sick leave after he came into "close contact with a diagnosed associate with a confirmed case of COVID-19," https://www.businessinsider.com/amazon-fires-warehouse-worker-led-strike-protest-covid19-cornavirus-response-2020-3 In these days of wild tort claims no company especially one as large as Amazon fires anyone for reasons that they can't back up.
  15. When testing rates greatly increase, the number of confirmed cases also greatly increase.
