Are you familar with the features on it? I know it was hard for me to learn all the features on my finder when I bought it in the middle of the hardwater season. I had to go through a flash course to learn the basics.I even had to read the maunal in the hut while fishing. dsn

Not really I only had mine for about a year still figuring it out. Almost got it down pac I had my old eagle ultra II before and I had it on FishID most of the time...but sometimes the screen gets all messed up and I would have to shut the thing down and restart it. Thats why I got rid of it. Other than that it was great unit. Least you were out there I'm still waiting. Its yours brand new?

Yeah the fish ID thingy is not good. Use the sonar feature (flasher) if your fish finder has one. Its alot better. 3 feet of ice becareful 4 is the minium for safety. dsn

Yeah I was thinking the same thing Mike that way it'll freeze faster sealing the thin gaps from the block instead of the major hole. Great job on the vid. I learned something new today.

As for me I rather fish hard water cause lake Simcoe is huge lake and I wouldn't be able to fish deep in a 14ft aluminun since the water can get pretty rough. Fishing right on top of fish would be impossible. Hard water is the only way that I can stay on top of the fish without the waves to worry about. Plus winter is usually gray and depressing if you have nothing to enjoy. Who wants to stay home after working all week and nothing to enjoy on the week ends.

Yeah next Saturday should be better if the temps get colder throughout the week!! Which it looks like it will so far. But I won't be out til the huts are. I like the warmth.

I picked up the Canon Powershot also, before during boxing week though. The model I bought is the Canon Powershot 700. I paid $349 for it. So many features on it I'm still playing around with it. Great Camera Joey!! dsn
