  1. Very fitting for the current times.
  2. I’ve been listening to Spotify lately. It’s coming up with some great hard and classic rock from the early 70’s that I haven’t heard in years. Montrose, Robin Trower, Pat Travers, Rick Derringer, Johnny Winter.
  3. +1 I do this every time. The last time I used the drive through oil jokers. I told him to “not even touch the cabin air filter because the glovebox fell on the floor on the drive home last time.” actually, now I take her car to the Toyota dealer. Its $20 cheaper, I get a semi syn blend and 7500kms. It’s worth getting up early on a Sat am. and I agree, going a bit beyond isn’t bad if it’s full and reasonably clean. I actually think 5000km interval is nonsense and a ploy to get you back to the garage or dealer more often.
  4. That looks slick but I wouldn’t risk the cost and time to install. Like others have mentioned, ramp slope, waves/wind etc could make it difficult and possibly put strains on it and the boat. The video shows some flexing in components. Not sure if it would accept too many sloppy or rammy couplings. Having side guide boards or roller posts on the trailer would surely help I’d think.
  5. I don’t dare show this to my wife. She has a PSW at an old folks home. Sweating buckets fearing that there won’t be enough PPE‘s. I sure hope she gets the ones made by 3M or some of the new Canadian suppliers. And it’s high time we start producing our own product here in Canada. I agree with premier Ford and I don’t usually. Time to make essential products at home!!! I’m really happy to hear that not one but two of our local manufacturers are gearing up to build respirators. (Danby and Linamar)
  6. It’s proven that cats can get Covid 19. I have a coworker who’s cat died of it last fall. There was no treatment for it in NA but there was in China. (Wasn’t approved here yet)
  7. That and the nose welting in the top pic. Huge mopar fan here. Never owned one, just wasn’t in the cards for me. ‘68-‘72 anything mopar was always out of my reach and never liked anything out of that range except the 66-67 gtx’s. In the early 80’s I could have had a bird for $1000. It was disassembled and, well it wasn’t in the cards then either. I lived at home and my dad wouldn’t entertain the project. And that’s a beauty
  8. I did the transom and the floor under the splash well last year. Was planning on replacing the rest of the floors and some mods to the bow seating to allow a drop in casting platform. Might be this springs project seeing as my house reno has completely stalled.
  9. Ah, I didn’t know that. I don’t snopes everything I hear or read. Regardless of what product or industry we sell to the US, the retaliatory measures could cause harm . Perhaps not with humanitarian efforts, but to our exports and jobs. Especially if that Moron sees it just to strike back to have the last say because his Ego got hurt, or he’s tired of bullying 3M, governors or whomever. The Autoparts makers in Ontario feed the big three. Losing that work to Us or Mexico would hurt a lot of families. Though I suppose we may well see that with a coming recession/depression.
  10. Retaliation could hurt somebody else down the line anyway. For instance, if the Canadian company that supplies 3M with the redwood paper pulp needed for masks, could cause 3m’s production to suffer and ultimately people may die due to lack of PPE’s . Innocent people that had nothing to do with the politics. And it would hurt Canadian jobs. It’s not a win situation
  11. Looked at it out the window and wondered if I’d even have it in the water this year with all that’s happening.
  12. I still think not enough is being done. Quebec’s list of essential businesses makes much more sense than Ontario’s. We still stand a chance to keep this curve low. I fear for our neighbours below the border. Over 18,000 new cases yesterday. How on earth are people who have lost their jobs going to pay for healthcare? The poorest are going to suffer the most as typical in pandemics. I hope they are going to put emergency measures in place to treat those without insurance coverage if they haven't already. Or they will suffer substantially more losses than any other country. ( in my uneducated opinion, and I certainly hope I am wrong.) I’m trying not to imagine how badly things can go should everything fall apart down there. There’s already food shortages amongst the poor. Soup kitchens are already appealing to farms to secure food.
  13. Any Ontarians disagree with fords list of essential businesses? I feel he’s stuck to the license plate slogan; ontario, open for business. So I can’t buy a street dog, get a haircut or buy a new car. Nothing really changed. i hope it wasn’t a “grave” mistake
  14. Idiots jamming the beaches in Florida. Close the beaches???
  15. Stay safe and healthy everyone. If things get tough, please don’t forget to help your elderly neighbour or the disadvantaged.
  16. I read a trick about haul-outs with a FWD. if traction becomes an issue due to tongue weight unloading the front end, pull the boat back on the trailer so the tongue weight is lessened, released or even reversed allowing maximum weight on your drive axles
  17. Thanks, will do. Fyi, I’m not looking to do any real off-roading per se. no rock crawling or muddling. I cannot risk scratching up or dinging a work vehicle going off the highway (back roads, dirt paths, logging roads) or go far out of range ( range being the distance I can take the company vehicle for personal use ). A serious 4x4 would be nice but a lighter AWD would do in case it’s a bit muddy, or a bit rougher than where you would take a RWD. I definitely don’t want FWD for boat launching.
  18. That’s the funny thing. Sounds like they’ve asked others “what they paid” for the boat. I should return it with a letter saying “if you can tell me what I paid, send me a bill with the exact tax amount and I will pay it” if they don’t know, I’ll send them tax on a dollar.
  19. I’ll say! Thanks @DanD, that is a mighty decent offer. I’m going to think about it and how I feel about the mileage. It is a really sharp rig, just the right size and loaded with goodies. I was perusing the AB and SK ‘Jij and there’s TONS of SUV’s and trucks in the 400-500 k range. Nearly every 4Runner under 10grand I found was 350+K so I’m going to consider it. If I have any questions i’ll PM you.
  20. Thanks for your help. I too love “the search”. I agree that they don’t last long but I’m certain I’ll find something under 200k. I’m finding Toyota FJ’s and 4runners in or close to the top end of my budget. When I’m ready to drop the hammer, there will be something.
  21. Man that is a super nice Grand Cherokee. I’ve always loved them. I test drove a few when looking for the car the wife is in, but she didn’t want a truck or SUV. Since I have a company vehicle, I let her have her pick. I only drive it when we’re out together. Happy wife, happy life they say. But back to the GC you guys suggested. I didn’t know they even had a diesel option. And that’s not high k for the motor, but I’d be worried about the wear and tear on the rest of the driveline. And the Envoy listed above is a beaut also, but 350-ish k on all original driveline, well maintained or not is still a lot of k and road salt exposure. The price isn’t unreasonable but it’s a big gamble and not something I’d be overly comfy towing with for long distances or extended trips. (4 hour to Day long towing trips) I think if I’m really patient, I can pick something up with 150-200k on it. I may have to pay more, I know.
