  1. If you want provincial Parks, try 6 mile lake, restuole, Emily and wolf island PP’s
  2. For me too. Id have to go to the store and buy it
  3. Should take the offenders and make them live in the stinking trash heaps of India for a week and see what they think of that
  4. Problem is that the more severe weather patterns get, the less accurate their modelling software is. The software is designed on historic patterns AFAIK
  5. You guys are awesome. I’m hoping not to have to use the gas motor at all. Not sure if my front troller will be strong enough but we will find out.
  6. I love that area and following this thread with interest. I wish I could help but everything in Muskoka seems to be private property. The little I do know; Big East was very high last week with huge rainfalls. If settled down, see if you can get a local outfitter if any to hook you up with a canoe and drop you at next bridge up from arrowhead park entrance. I’ve “heard” it’s an easy paddle down. Not sure if the fishing is any good however, but I’ve always wanted to try it. arrowhead PP has 2 lakes and canoe rentals. Some potential shore fishing at the first lake near the gatehouse. Maybe try above and below Stubbs falls in the park. Maybe some people can comment on whether there’s any decent access along the rail sidings, behind Canadian tire or at the main bridge crossings in town. I never see anyone fishing down at the downtown docks.
  7. HOLY CRAP, not to minimize, but take another look at that radar and look at what’s coming in from Wisconsin!! heading for northern Ontario - calling for night tornadoes. Scariest stuff ever, be safe people
  8. Looks bad on radar east ofLake Simcoe also. Be safe everyone
  9. I just got back from vacation so the mad money is depleted. I’m hoping to get a starter-econo set up with line and some tackle for $200 give or take out the door
  10. Thanks. Mixed reviews there. Maybe I will just hit the local outfitter and see what I can get for my budget. (Line, lures etc included)
  11. This a good choice and deal? (Trolling and casting) https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00VS14L9G/ref=ca_xb_dp_go_mobile_gl_sports
  12. OK, so nothing is cheap these days. Seems like all fishing gear is up 50% over recent years. So the thing is my Brother wants to troll in front or in the mouth of Bronte creek. (Or anchor and cast) All I have is medium spinning gear and a heavy weight fly rod and reel (Yet to be used) Any thoughts on good but realistically priced gear? Would a muskie rod double as a salmon rod??
  13. We were at a borrowed cottage so I didn’t keep any. I could have had quite the feed or freezer full what are WGSF’s??
  14. DONT USE PRESSURE TREATED in aluminum boats
  15. . My 1975 Starcraft has the original and now rotten ply. Which was only sheathing grade. No sealer. Marine ply is only important when constructing new plywood boats. Sealed standard ply is all needed
  16. Thanks guys. Are they native to Southern and Eastern Ontario? This was on a small lake near Perth. They were hitting like crazy and I had a great time
  17. I had a great week fishing this past week. Nothing huge but gobs of fish. I had a local tell me “someone must have dumped crappie in there” which I hear often about perch etc. (I’m assuming crappie, like perch are spread by eggs on waterfoul legs) but my question is, are they invasive and problematic to sport fish? He told me they eat walleye eggs. After this comment, I also had to wonder if they’d had many under water predators that can eat them due to their large disk shape
  18. Johnny D, cool stories and my condolences to you & family
  19. If I recall, 50 point is popular spot. Another half hour down the road is Bass Pro Shop’s and a big shopping mall if the weather goes south. On route to there in Jordan is an abandoned ship once converted to a pirate ship replica, it now half sunk burnt and rusty but neat to see
  20. I appreciate that offer. As it turns out, I have purchased another full unit complete with pedal from a member here. Did some A.B. testing. Turns out it wasn’t my pedal after all, it was the unit itself. I’m quite thrilled that I was able to purchase this unit. Because now I have a good motor and two working pedals. I’m going to keep the spare in the boat for good measure also I found out four wires is for 24 V. Two wires is for 12 V. Just in case anybody else runs into the same situation Thanks guYS
  21. hey guys, anyone know why this is a four wire system if it’s 12 V? I’ve got two power leads and two black. One of the red and one of the black has a blue stripe
  22. Good news finally about parry sound 33. They have made good progress and Some residents were allowed to return home
  23. I don’t know about you guys, but the severe weather patterns we have been seeing scares the crap outta me. What are we facing in the future???
