I get the fact that some questions really are redundant...but what is the point of having a forum based on discussion if you cant ask some simple questions. I ask questions all the time that people probably say what is he asking this for but I usually post after doing a lot of research through that amazing site called google. I just want to hear from other peoples experiences instead of always making the wrong choice or for instance wasting money on my boat or not putting enough money into it(currently have a topic open about my boat). I find with google that i usually end up at a public forum anyways so might aswell ask it on this one. The good thing about the forums to is that generally there isnt just one person wondering the same thing. So many other people benefit from the posts aswell.

replacing floor in aluminum boat
livinisfishin replied to livinisfishin's topic in General Discussion
Im keeping the 1/2" plywood only because i didnt have to pull the entire floor out.. only 3/4's. I figured if i used the pt that i could put down some 6mil underneath and still seal the wood..but then i got thinking for cheap insurance just use marine ply. The floor that was in my boat was original and my boat was built in 1968 and it only had one punky spot but kinda was delaming closer to the middle so it wasnt bad really bad for 40 years old. The transom however was a different story...just soaked and punky. When I bought the boat last year it was in march so the transom felt nice and strong, reason for that was because it was frozen lol. -
replacing floor in aluminum boat

I was going to go with pressure treated but then got reading all sorts of bad things that kind of turned me off of it. The price is right though! -
I've totally gutted my 16' starcraft holdiay. Pulled the transom out because it was rotten. Pulled the sleeper seats because they were rotten and half of the floor aswell. I know with my transom plywood that it is going to be 2 pieces glued together and sealed before I can reinstall it. Does the marine ply have to be sealed aswell? I will be putting some sort of covering over the plywood after its all back together.

What kind of lures are you guys using when fishing for them in the shallows?

Nice job on your intro! Enjoy your time here!

I have had to replace switches that you can hear are working but aren't actually making contact. Usually check for continuity or resistance while actuating the switch.
-
Most of "the stuck open pressure switch " problems I've head were weak ventor motors..they were noisy and I knew something was wrong. The other things are plugged drains and hoses. A plugged vent outside( ice or snow build up in the pipe) or anything that can get in there. A lot of times the pressure switches themselves just get weak over time . If I were you I would just make sure your vent is clear and that all the hoses from your ventor motor and pressure switches are free of debris and are firmly connected. Also if you can try and check the condensate drain for obstructions.

Flame sensor isn't your problem anymore. Could be a number of things...I would love to beable to help you further but I pretty much have to be there to figure it out. Just started getting intothe service thing regularily this winter when I switched companies..the last one I was with was mainly fireplaces. Are you close to barrie?
-
If your furnace has a hot surface ignitor there won't be a thermocouple. The flame sensor is what you are looking for. Its on the opposite side of the ignitor in direct flame contact near the last burner to light. I think it will have 1 wire coming off of it going directly to the board. Remove the screw pull it down and use a fine grit sand paper andd lightly clean it up a bit as suggested. If that was your problem you should be good to go. The code you will most likely getting if that is the issue is " failure to prove ignition". If that isn't the problem post what code you are getting.
