  1. Hey guys, The GF and I are heading up this weekend to visit her dad for Father’s Day and hoping to get some fishing in. He’s on a lake connected to Glouster Pool on the lower end. Would like to try for walleye and pike in the Gpool but haven’t been able to find any good info. Should we fish Gpool or would we be better off fishing Little Lake? Any info would be helpful. Thanks.
  2. Some beauty gators right there! Nice job!
  3. Tomorrow I'm booked to go fishing. Sunday I don't think I'll be in operating condition lol. Thank you for the offer. Need to meet up there and do some fishing.
  4. I would’ve jump in but I have a wedding on Saturday.
  5. That’s crazy seeing that. Yes definitely some big ones were hungry. To bad there oos. They were inhaling 4” and 5” swimbaits. The walleye were eating them the same way too.
  6. A bit of both. The ones we found on the main lake were smaller about 10"-12" range. Ones we found closer to spawning areas where bigger around 16"+ range no donkeys though. But the ones we found near the spawning areas some had spawned and some hadn't. There were some tank small jaws mixed there and I doubt that they had spawned as well even the small ones looked like they had been eating tennis balls. I wouldn't doubt if the pike are behind as well. It was tough for us to judge because we were only there for one day and to be honest spend a total of maybe 4 hours fishing pike.
  7. I have a 14' aluminum. I have a 60" on mine and works fine. It does stick up a little but not a big deal to me.
  8. Drove up to PAB for the day Saturday, ended up being a nice day weather wise. Fishing was slow but did manage to catch some decent eyes and just enough for a dinner and a few oos smallies, couple pushing 5+ lbs. Swimabits and jigging raps were the goto. Tried for pike in the afternoon, figured we would let the water warm up from the cool morning but the warmest water we found was 51.5 in some of the back bays. No pike to be found which was not ideal. So we just went back to fishing eyes.
  9. I can also speak to Muskie Bay at rice. Stayed there a few times, fairly clean and nice cottages. Boat are also good. Also stayed a percy's reach a few times, which isn't far from rice. Decent fishing and cottages in that area too.
  10. Yes, I do have musky rods but they're both on the heavier side. One is rated from 5-10oz and the other 6-16oz. I'm looking for something a little bit softer. Yes the lipstick is a pool cue. I will check out the Jerk.
  11. Sweet vid. Looks like you guys had a productive day!
  12. I checked it out online and looks like a nice rod also had good reviews. However no tackle stores in my area carry those rods. I prefer to see and test the rod before I buy it. Think I'm going to go with the Daiwa Kage 801HRB swimbait rod. Has decent reviews from what I could find and overall looks like a good rod.
  13. Good to know. Thanks. These look pretty sweet, definitely have to see if the local places here have any. Also found St Croix LT lipstick rod LM79HMF. Its a musky rod but on the smaller side of the scale. Anyone used any of these?
  14. Has anyone tried Dobyns rods? Ive never used one. Thanks. Ill have to check them out.
  15. Hey guys, I've been looking at picking up a designated swimbait/pike setup for this season. Ive been looking at a 8' G Loomis imx pro 3-8oz swimbait rod or the 2-6oz also 8' but I'm hesitant about spending that much cash on a fishing rod. Does anyone have any feed back on these rods or can recommend something similar with a softer price point. Rod would be used for bigger lures like regular bulldogs, jr shadzillas and other 6-8" swimbaits. Any info is helpful. Thanks guys.
  16. I Agree with the above. Casting rod is the way to go. I use a heavy action fast tipped avid x casting rod and casts even 3" seniors no problem. just have to have the tension knob set.

  18. I currently have two drop shot set ups. I have a 7’2” shimano crucial medium xf with a 2500 stradik fj. Was a a little over the $300 dollar mark you’re looking at but I like this setup. I use this one majority of the time for drop shorting because this rod has a soft tip. I feel it allows me to feel the light bites. I also have a 7’3” Daiwa cronos medium xf with a 2500 tatula LT. This was right around the $300 dollar mark. This rod is a little stiffer than the crucial. I use it primarily for jigging raps and spy baits. My brother has the mojo bass drop shot rod and he likes it. I have used that numerous times and would recommend either of these options or something similar. Also what I used to do when didn’t have a designated drop shot rod was pre tie drop shot rigs with a barrel swivel on the top end so I didn’t have to waste as much time re tying all the time. Then when I was done I would rap it around one of the foam things I use for worm harnesses then it could be re used.
  19. Hey guys, As the title states I'm looking for any info on Burrows lake and any of the surrounding back lakes in the Coldwater area. Stumbled upon these lakes when we were out on the ATV's on the trails in that area. I tried looking online but there's little to no information out there regarding them. Any info is appreciated.
  20. Pretty sure Aikman's is still a certified repair shop. Why would you want to even want to cut the shaft?
  21. I bought the 17 Terrova at the beginning of last season and love it. It’s prob the one of the best purchases I’ve made for the boat. Totally changed my fishing game. It took me some time to get used to all the features and I’m still learning them but it’s well worth the money. Especially for the spot lock feature. When I was at the boat show last weekend, I did notice the new Terrovas have changed a little bit from last year. I don’t know if they’ve changed any features. If by “sensor” you mean the white puck then the 17 models comes with it as well. Just has to be synced to the motor. You do this on your first trip out, very easy to do. There is also a Johnson outdoors in Burlington. Google then and give them a call and speak with the. Maybe they can clear things up?

  23. Hey guys, does anyone know if lake St. John has ice? Will be up in that area over the weekend, would like to try that lake for eyes.
  24. Some people forget that it's a PRIVILEGE to be allowed to live in another country not a/your RIGHT. I think that this is something that has been forgotten.
  25. My grandfather volunteered at 21 or 22 and was a tail gunner in the Lancaster bomber, alouette squadron. He did survive the war, but he passed away when I was about 13 and didn't fully understand the gravity of what he did. My dad has told me a bits and pieces of a few stories that my grandpa shared with him about being on bombing runs and in air to air combat with German fighters and being shot at and shooting them down. We still have his RCAF jacket, his war medals and flight log book among other things. I am very proud of him for doing what he did.
