  1. Hey guys looking for some advice. Currently looking at possibly purchasing a new boat one with 115 Honda 4stroke and other Yamaha. Both boats are around 13-15 years old. Both are in visibly good condition but how many hours would be considered to many on a boat of that age?
  2. Some good pointers in the video. Thought if someones in the market they could take something from the video.
  3. I don''t have any glow in the dark baits but I did try rippin raps of various sizes as well as cranks. We just couldn't get them to go. You would think? we used jig and minnow and dropshotted them but still nothing...
  4. Hey guys, Was at PAB for a few days last week with a few others for my first real outing this season. Weather was good first day was over 30 degrees and the the remaining days I don't think broke 20 with cold nights. We caught some good fish, one being a 4LB 14Oz smallie and another was 3LB 13Oz. Caught a few decent pike trolling for musky biggest being just shy of 37inches and a few others around the 30" mark and many other small guys. However they were no musky caught this trip sadly put just under 30hrs trolling in over 4 days and didn't even get a sniff. But that's part of it. So my question is, at night we took a break from trolling to try to find some eyes. We found them (or what I presumed to be walleye on the graph) only at night when the sun was down, they would school up and feed on huge schools of small bait fish. We could see the minnows swimming around next to the boat with the head lamps. Trying the catch them was impossible. Tried jigging, drop shots, cranks, harnesses, holding the jigs with minnows in the feeding area, rip baits. But still couldn't catch any. Is it as possible that they are just gorging on the other bait so theres no interest in what we were using or were we not doing the right things? Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.
  5. Beauty skis!
  6. Talked to my uncle yesterday, said this bad boy tore up his neighbours who live down the road. He's on line 7.
  7. I believe the main part of the river is around 60 foot. Also I agree with Ohio your time can be better spend else where at this time of year. I agree with ak September fishing there can be a puzzle but it can be solved. Yes walleye are difficult to catch but if you find some bait you should be able to find them. X2 with the SMB info. No, the rock isn't Whitson Rock. It is in the Shawanaga river. If you look at the river there are what look like 3 small bays on the top. The rock is in the middle of the channel by third bay. If I'm a little unclear ask Geoff owner at Rock Pines, great guy he might be able to explain it better. Yes the lighthouse is past raspberry island.
  8. We will be up there the weekend before you. I've haven't had that great of luck in the river in the summer for eyes, but there are fish there. Decent bass fishing in there. The river is surprisingly big once you get into it. Also if you do decide to go into the river, just before you enter where it opens up inside, there is a Massive rock in the middle of the channel. You must stay to the left closer to the shore. OhioFisherman is right, it really isn't that far. From Rock Pines it's a good 5 min ride in my boat and I have a 25hp tiller. The light house area is also good for SMB too, and it's not that far either. Its about the same distance from Rock Pines as Shawanaga although the wind can make it challenging to fish out there.
  9. Weird that you posted this, I called Rock Pines this morning to find info on the fires as I'm headed up early Sept and was told the fires are about 40kms north. When are you headed up? As for fish locations, bass both SMB and LMB aren't that hard to find there. Walleye are a bit more challenging, they seem to be from my experience there spread out in the basin. If you can find some bait they won't be far away. We have had better luck for eyes night fishing.
  10. X3. If you get the 55LB you might be left wanting more power. I Have a 14ft alumium and I put a 80LB 60" Terrova on my boat and have not regretted it. Go with the 80LB Terrova, you won't regret it.
  11. If you're not looking to break the bank I would suggest a Helix 7. I recently bought another helix 7si g2n to go with my i pilot terrova. No complaints they pair well together.
  12. Just found this today, as someone said before new tech is quickly pushed aside by the newer tech. This is the newer version on panoptix.
  13. That's pretty slick. If the other method doesn't work, I'm going to try this.
  14. I will have to try again when I get home tonight but however last time I tried I wasn't able to feed it through. And mine is I Pilot not I Pilot Link.
  15. Yes I have seen a few videos showing on how to silicone the wire to the slot in the shaft and I was going to do this however with the newer models of the Terrova (what I have) you aren't able to do this because of the new lift assist mechanism. I have come across this, it looks pretty sweet. https://www.facebook.com/precisionsonar/videos/1439205629445500/ Yes they're both side imaging and one is g2 and the other is g2n, so I'm unsure if they can be networked together.
  16. Hey guys, Just recently got around to installing the bow mount motor but have come to a bit of a road block as to how to install the side image transducer on it. So my question is what is the best way to go about installing it and what is a solution for the extra cable? Does anyone have any experience installing one? Any help would be appreciated.
  17. Looking for a used navionics card. If anyone has one they’re willing to part with let me know. Thanks.
  18. I unfortunately had to work. My musky season won't begin for a little while
  19. Looking to buy a used fish finder either humminbird, lowrance or garmin with 5-7" screen. If you or someone you know have one kicking around let me know. Thanks.
  20. Was a pretty good show. Good turn out, good list of vendors with great stuff.
  21. I'm not one to troll for bass but to get down a to lower speed you could trim the motor up or you could just use the terrova.
  22. Great videos! Interesting to see how fish react to different baits. Those look like some pigs too. Can I ask where did you get those swim baits from? They look sweet.
  23. Hey guys, Just curious if anyone is heading to the musky show tomorrow in Guelph?
