  1. Where did you get the image from?
  2. Heard all good things about aikmans in Mississauga. I did see an ulterra in box at the Canadian tackle depot booth, didn’t see cost.
  3. I was there today. Wasn’t as I expected, not many deals to be had. Jbs Pro j and Canadian tackle depot were the only retailers there from what I could see. Not many boat dealers, mostly atvs and such. Not what I thought it was going to be.
  4. You won’t be disappointed. Did you get the i pilot or I pilot link?
  5. If you’re able, I would suggest checking out all of the brands at the fishing show this weekend and speak to the reps at the respective booths. Might be able to scoop a TM up there for a “sale” price.
  6. I have seen YouTube vids and read other forums where people have had issues late into the season using the ulterra and it freezing up and the auto stow/ deploy feature not working. If you don’t fish into late season shouldn’t be an issue. Other than that, not sure about other issues.
  7. I can’t speak to any other brands but if you’re going Minnkota would choose the Terrova. If you’re going to change to bird units I would go with I pilot link. That’s one regret of mine, not getting the I pilot link. If you choose to do your own mapping on the bird units the I pilot link can take you down the specific contour line. Both foot pedal and remote have their time and place, but I tend to use the remote more when fishing walleye and the foot pedal more fishing musky/pike/bass. If you need one sooner maybe check out sportsman show next weekend. They had deals on electronics and stuff and the last fishing show a few weeks ago.
  8. The boat I’m leaning towards is an fsx with a 150 Yamaha sho. Have you experienced any other issues with quality?
  9. Did you see of any boats coming back on warranty work or any issues with the boats?
  10. Definitely an interesting design but I’m looking at the Competitor FSX models specifically.
  11. Hi guys, Seriously looking into purchasing an Alumacraft In the very near future. I have been a passenger in one a few times but never personally driven one. Can anyone offer any input on Alumacraft boats, or any experience with loose windshields or cracked consoles? Or any first hand experiences good or bad? Thanks.
  12. This is the most logical comment out of all the above. Dog owners will, in most cases dictate how the dog behaves. That being said, pit bulls may not be for first time dog owners, unless they’re dedicated owners. One of my best friends had several Pitt bulls over the course of his life. ALL of the dogs were nothing but obedient and attentive dogs. Even with his elderly mother nothing but sweet hearts. Didn’t even have to walk any of the dogs with leashes, they would walk beside him and/ or go to the corner sit and wait for him. I have a dog and both of the couples myself and my gf hang out with both have dogs. One has a golden other has a sharpie mix. We will only bring our dog to see the golden as they get along and the parents of said dog have turned the page in terms of having an obedient dog. The sharpie however we no longer bring our dog to see as the owners seem to not be concerned about the dog’s behaviour/ not really motivated to do anything about it. A dog who is aggressive to other dogs and just does whatever it sees fit and very rarely does what it’s told and when issues arise with this dog they wonder why. On the flip side another couple who we see infrequently have a very obedient/ well behaved sharpie who gets long with out dog. Not all people are prepared for the work a dogs needs. Even myself I will be the first to say I was very unprepared about how much work my own mini Aussie would be. LOTS of learning for me/gf and lots of obedience training for my dog, but the effort is worth it. What I guess in trying to say after this long rant is, people should do their homework on what breed of dog they want needs from the owner, and select a breed based on that assessment. Not just get a dog because of looks or because “they want it”. That mentality in my worthless 0.2 cents would/ could prevent this terrible things from happening.
  13. Yes, I re read previous post and viewed the link for the map. I have never been down that way. The ship wreck is worth a visit. It’s by turning island and the middle channel. It’s marked on Navionics.
  14. Maybe you’re looking for turning rock?
  15. Friend of mine has a cottage down the river from Cameron. Fishes there regularly. Says there’s lots of bass there, and has managed to catch a few decent musky as well.
  16. Thank you for responding and thanks for the info about the general store. Awesome thank you. I will have a look at my navionics and mark out some areas like that to fish. Have you fished west hardwood isl in that area?
  17. Hi everyone, I’ve rented a cottage in the Lavigne area at the end of the month. I’ve never fished this area or Nipissing for that matter. I’ve read this of Nip is a better bass/ pike area and musky fishing is better fishing in the west end of the lake. Any input would be appreciated.
  18. Hi everyone, looking for some suggestions for new lakes for spring pike/walleye trip 3/4 from gta. We have been going to the same area and looking to try somewhere new this year. Would prefer a lake with size over numbers. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
  19. They were good. Bought a couple treys. Show was disappointing. Only good tackle stand was Pro J. I did pick up a couple things though. Was hoping to hit the Lund, alumacraft shimano and h bird booths but none of them were there.
  20. I bought my boat used, but I did call all the local dealers and ones within reasonable driving distance but some said the same. Not willing to do anything, the others said they would have to send it back to crest liner to have it assessed.
  21. I did manage to find someone that was able to help with jacking the boat up. Looked at the underside for a while and under the areas covered by the bunks however there was no damaged areas. There was a small start of a crack on the side opposite of the original crack. So he did weld that up. So the plan is to take it it over the weekend and see what happens.
  22. I went a few times last season. Worm harnesses and smaller stick baits worked. The public launch was a disaster though.
  23. X2. I also have Simms raincoat and bib. Challenger series I believe. Quality stuff, bone dry. Kept me dry and warm with layers underneath of course during a rainy fall musky trip. Costs more but after I cheaped out on some sub par stuff and fed up with getting wet I coughed up the dough.
  24. Yes, I’m fairly certain that they aren’t leaking. I used blue tuck tape over the drain holes of both live wells and poured 5gallons of water in each live well. I had the back deck removed and did not see any water anywhere, and no water leaked out from behind the tape. It is a 05 16.5 crestliner fish hawk. I am located in the burlington area. what did you use to block the transom? Do you have any pictures?
  25. Hey guys, long story short I my boat is taking on water again this time I think from somewhere under the bunks. Dropped the boat in last weekend for the first time and almost immediately started taking on water. I noticed when my boat didn’t even out on plane. Took the boat out and a fair bit of water drained out. I have looked at the areas inside the boat by removing the back deck but I could not see much. I have also re assessed the plug the live well hoses and intake and the bilge system both are in working order. In order to see the areas I must lift the boat up. I have found boat jacks but are these worth spending the money on or is there a better/ easier solution? A friend of mine also suggested first filling the boat with some water to see if it leaks from the suspected areas instead of spending the money on the jacks? I have done this with small tin boats but not a boat of this size. Any help is appreciated.
