  1. Ripple effect... I too was booked at Chateau Gerritt and am now homeless. I have Bly and GCD (I think?) riding in my boat and these Merlands folks have also shattered thier dreams. Okay, maybe I'm laying it on too thick. I'm still up for the trip if someone is able to confirm some room. I don't take up much room if I sleep standing up! -Brian
  2. Friday - Lake O or LSC Saturday - LSC or Lake O Sunday - Lake Huron
  3. Welcome to the board Dan. Tough luck on tournament day but a heckuva pre-fish! -Brian
  4. You know you've had a good weekend when you can say "oh yeah and I also got a 38" chinook". Congrats on the PB Cliff! -Brian
  5. Great fish Ron, congratulations! I just missed the 54" club myself last weekend... missed it by 10" LOL!! -Brian
  6. Great job Brian!
  7. Another 'crack' report Moose! Congratulations on... on everything! Sorry to hear about the rental car charges - hope that gets cleared up for you. It didn't seem to shackle your buzz for long. The seating arrangements for the wedding were cool. When I go to wedding receptions I often get stuck at the 'crappie' table. Once again congratulations... I suspect you'll be keeping your best catch of the summer for mounting! -Brian
  8. I didn't think they made 'em that big in the Bermuda Triangle! Good going guys! -Brian
  9. Very well done gents! -Brian
  10. Terry pulls up along side the offending boat..."Hey guys, you know it's only one rod per person on Simcoe don't ya? Have you guys seen my new reel?" Just funnin' ya Terry. I've seen more pictures of your new reel than I have of your new boat! -Brian
  11. Great report Shelley and good luck tonight, if not tomorrow! -Brian
  12. Part 1? Yikes! Another "trip of a lifetime" report from you. Thanks again for sharing! -Brian
  13. LOL!!
  14. Thanks for the link kennyman, good read. The information is geared toward waterskiing - substitute "skier" with "muskie bait" and it makes for even more interesting reading!! -Brian
  15. I'm far from a GPS expert but this little guy blows my mind for the price... http://www.amazon.com/Lowrance-Multimedia-...m/dp/B000GSQDPM I had a chance to play around with it at the store and what I appeciated most about it was the SD card slot. Drive to your location with the included map and pop in a Navionics chip to navigate the lake. Track your routes on the water, mark waypoints/icons etc. A big bonus for me as I have already invested in the Lowrance/Navionics chips for the boat. It's smaller and lighter with a bigger screen than the 76 series Garmin plus it has a built in mp3 player and picture viewer. One of the only things I didn't like about my Garmin 76 was the shape. To keep a signal it had to be in the window and because of it's height, it had to be near the edge of the dash. If I was buying another hand held, this would probably be it. -Brian
  16. Nice video Wayne. It didn't play properly in a window but it worked fine when I saved it. You have a great ground crew. A striking resemblance to your First Mate on the HMS Baron! -Brian
  17. You can email with it. As I interprete it, the digital control is an active brake system for the spool. Most have a variable braking system which is passive and ultimately shortens your casts. The DC gives you brakes when you need it most to prevent backlash and eases off to prolong your casts.
  18. I'd be on that offer like a fat kid (me) on a smartie but I don't think I can get away all day and a half day wouldn't be worth a trip from London. I'd love a bass tutorial on Simcoe some day however! Bump for a good offer! -Brian
  19. Terry, Be very careful with those DC reels, those tiny little built in computers are prone to hackers. I'm not worthy of a reel like that! I had a hard enough time justyfing the cash for the Curado DHSV but I'm glad I did. I'm sure you will feel the same way when you have a chance to use your new Calais. -Brian
  20. Hey Paul, I have very limited muskie experience. Keeping that in mind... I have a 7' St.Croix Triumph and a 6'9" St.Croix Premiere. Both are fine for trolling and I use the 7' for spinnerbaits/bucktails, the 6'9" for jerkbaits. I really like both but the 7' Triumph is just too soft for reefing on these big baits. I think 6'6" is probably the way to go and you can get into the Triumph series rods for under $100. A little more for the Premiere. -Brian
  21. What does this position pay? j/k Bumping to keep you off page 2.
  22. Congrats on the salmon and a nice lookin' bow except for the bullet wound! -Brian
  23. Writing down w-o-r-m h-a-r-n-e-s-s.... got it! Thanks for the tip! LOL Nice catch! -Brian
  24. Great report and congrats on a nice PB!
  25. Now I would have called that a coho as well... black mouth - chinny black lips, white mouth - coho -Brian
