I've seen your catches Mike, this should do you... It'll weigh accurately up to 200 grams. -
Corey, looks like your advice was every bit as helpfull. Sit back, relax and read a good book...

Way to go Rich, now all the steelheaders will be floating giant doughballs!

You're right Tony. It doesn't take much room to double up on all the safety equipment and Muskiestudd gave me a great tip - whistles on all the PFD's.

Even after 38 years and 1000's of lbs they never cease to amaze me

[stir the pot] Pete, looks like Mike was out schooling perchers family on salmon catchin' while you trolling for the 'good girls' in the pit at school! [/stir the pot] -
Hey Emil, glad you made it home safely - too bad we couldn't get out today. It's hard to diagnose a problem like that over the phone but when you told me of the shifter problem it got me thinking it might be neutral safety switch keeping you from starting. If the engine is still in gear it won't start. I hope it's a bad swtich/linkage problem. It must have been tough out there. Up late, wayyy past his bedtime, frightened, cold and wet but I'm glad Goran was well bahaved for you. -Brian

[provoke] MIKE! You're not going to take that crap from him are you? [/provoke] -
Outrageous. Not intending to hijack the thread but why is it we (boaters in general) tolerate this kind of quality control and service and allow these companies to flourish? If auto manufacturers tried to pass off this kind of quality and service they wouldn't be in business long. Good luck Matty. Hopefully the marina takes good care of you and you can reward them with your future business. -Brian

I've been spooled more than few times at Bronte and I usually use 20lb XT. A guy on the pier told me if spooling is inevetible try opening the bail. It worked once for me, it stopped pulling thinking it was free I suppose. I lost that one on the next run however. I don't mind losing to a fish but I hate the thought of a fishing running around dragging 150yrds of mono. -Brian -

Pete, You keep talking like this and MTP will never come down to Bronte. I'm thinking of heading out in the morning with the boat... 5:30AMish if weather cooperates. -Brian -
When the Bozo's are on the ramp if you listen really well, you can hear the Mission Impossible theme. P.S. Try the pink worm of death. You can thank me later. -Brian

Thanks Emil! We left a couple in there for you. I'm likely going back this weekend but it'll depend on weather. I may go Friday morning.... do you know anybody that could take off work on short notice?? -Brian

... and the week isn't over yet!! Happy birthday Cliff! -Brian

Another day that ends in 'Y'. Another report from CC and Bly. Is there anything they can't do? Maybe sturgeon on a fly? Way to go folks. That's a beauty Brown Carole - that'll be tough to beat! -Brian

John Tory Pledges 35 Million to anglers and Wildlife
SlowPoke replied to Toronto_Angler's topic in General Discussion
Tory has my vote. IMO there is a difference between leaders and politicians. It's not often we get a chance to vote for a party with a true leader at the helm. Mike Harris was a leader and I voted for him. The difference is making the right decisions as unpopular as they may be. I'm predominantly Liberal believing in the most amount of good for the most amount of people. I held my nose and voted for Eaves last time around - only because he was slightly less slimey than McGuinty and we knew what he was all about. (the devil you know...) As for the school issue, we've been funding the Catholic School board with public money for as long as I can remember. How do we deny other religeons of funding when our population is based on immigration? I'd rather see non-secular school funding but the horse is already out of the barn. -Brian -
Oooops, sorry Art. Maybe we should have been a little more obvious about the reference. I can see how you may have taken that the wrong way. I assure you, it was not a poke at you or Americans. Here's the video...

No pink worms on this trip... those are for special occasions on the end of my rod. We did get two fish on the almighty watermelon spoon tho. I know you want one Glen but those 'lil Alabanana slammers wouldn't be able to get thier adorable little mouths over the hook. If you can make it up for BOQ you're welcome to ride in my boat to see them in action. Once I get my limit I might even let you try one. The "Flintstone Magnum - Green Watermelon"

Well done FF, I bet you won't wait another 5-6 years for your next outing! -Brian

Great idea Dan. I'll be looking forward to it! Moosebunk, you raise a great point. Perhaps the construction of the forum could take this into consideration and allow the poster to make the choice to invite criticism. Photography forum >Tips/Reviews/Discussion Subforum (no photos) >Art Gallary Subforum (display your best photos) >Critics Corner (post your photo inviting critique) -or- Maybe (if possible) a way to rate photographs. If ratings are not possible we post a picture with a poll (1-crap to 5-great) for those that want to guage thier efforts. P.S. Moosebunk, I can appreciate your horizon peeve... my avatar drives me nuts! A big fish in a small rocking boat with a few seconds to get "the shot" doesn't allow for good framing. Adding criticism to a photo post might help people consider more than the subject in thier next shot. One of my peeves are kid shots taken from an adults eye level. -Brian ***EDIT*** Maybe Terry could manage a Photoshopping subforum!

Well done Cliff but could you maybe leave some for us poor unfortunate boaters? -Brian

Funny you should post that link Cliff. When I got home Saturday I checked it to see if my Rainbow was even close... Looking down the chart... ahhh Coho, hmmm, Claudes was about 30" might as well check that... scan across the coho line....26!!!!! Oh wait, that's pounds LOL. Nevermind. Needless to say my PB Rainbow wasn't even close... 36lb record if I recall. -Brian
