  1. Hi Terry, It depends on the reel and the leadcore... 18lb or 27lb? 5,6 or 10 Colour I run a Penn 309 with 150yrds 30lb mono, willis knot to 10 colour 27lb cortland leadcore, willis knot to 20yrds seagaur fluoro leader. You can get 6 colour mason pre-rigged with backing and leader as well, just spool it on. -Brian
  2. Cheap linecounter dipsy setup... Daiwa Heartland 8' Dipsy rod with a Daiwa Accudepth PLUS will run you around $100. The Accudepth PLUS model is leaps and bounds better than the old Accudepth reel. The Heartland rods are an excellent value. -Brian
  3. Use the 5 inch "pink worm of death".
  4. Lovers creek? That sounds like an irritation like jock itch.
  5. Ouch! LOL!!! Good report Glen. Were those the minnows you smuggled home from Lakair? Where can I get some of those fancy glides for my roller trailer? -Brian
  6. Try CAS Marine in Ayr. I know they have a bunch of smaller trailers in stock now. 401W to Cedar Creek (Exit 268). Turn right, go over the highway and a couple of miles up the road there is a road side sign on the left. The building fronts the highway so you have to go through a very large parking lot to get to it. If you pass the RV center, you've gone to far. http://www.casmarine.com/
  7. Congrats Mo! Kudos to Dave for a good quote on the insurance too!
  8. dang' perfect. Not only are glow-in-the-dark Cleo's sold out but now you can't find a chicken wing within a 40km radius of Bronte. Way to go guys. -Brian
  9. Lets see... -do my '06 taxes -finish building my shed from summer '05 -finish trim work in the basement from '04 -probably put some sealer on the fence I built in '97
  10. Well done! That's a day most of us can only dream of! -Brian
  11. Great video! I thought I was going to wet myself with the squeeling tires! -Brian
  12. Not the fastest way but pretty stress-free... I-75, Hwy 401, Hwy 24 (Cambridge), Hwy 9, Hwy 27 to Barrie
  13. I have vinyl and it's great. I don't find it slippery at all when it's wet. The previous owner replaced the casting deck and purchased the vinyl from Home Depot. I will be doing the rest of the floor in the same -Brian
  14. Great report and pictures! Thanks for taking the time to share. -Brian
  15. Alright, now that's just rubbing our noses in it! LOL Outstanding report!! Isn't it amusing that on a great trip all those mishaps and breakdowns are a mere inconvenience. On a bad trip all those mishaps and breakdowns lead to therapy sessions. -Brian
  16. whats his name M a r s h LOL!!!! We'll have to save that story for a fireside chat. Some pretty big smiles coming from that canoe!!! -Brian
  17. The first question your salesman should ask is about room size, shape and design (layout). The second question should be regarding usage (80% home theater / 20% music?) Don't be skewed by power ratings, pay for quality and listen before you buy. Good receivers for the money.... Denon, H-K, Yamaha Good speakers for the money.... Paradigm, Jamo, PSB A 5.1 system with a nicely matched speaker system will outperform a mis-matched 7.1 system Are you looking to build towards a nice system and spending more in the near future or spend $500 and be done with it? -Brian
  18. I think from our kind words supporting OFC we might be in line for a FREE membership renewal.
  19. I can't speak for everyone certainly but I know the advertising on OFC has coaxed more than a few dollers out of my wallet and certainly prompted quite a few inquiry phone calls. I think omitting fishing websites from a marketing stratagy would be a mistake and I can think of a few local charter guys that benefit greatly from this site and others by being active contributing members. -Brian
  20. I'm not sure how to respond... oh, the choices
  21. His argument is flawed? And you reply with this? I'm just very greatful for the men and women that 'choose' this profession and equally so for those men and women that volunteer thier time for morons like us that know better but continue to take the risk in poor weather. I hate wearing the damn thing, it's too bulky, hot, uncomfortable etc. but there are other alternatives and I think I'm going to pick up one of those inflatables.
  22. I think I am going to abandon the knotted loop on the hair for something else. I don't think I am revolutionizing carp fishing, I'm sure it's been done before... I had some success tying an 'adjustable hair rig' by eliminating the knot that seemed to tear up the corn when sliding it onto the hair. Here's what I did; -cut about 18" off the spool -fold over the last 3" and pass the hoop through the hook eye about 2" leaving a 1" tag -with the long end, tie the knotless knot around the shank binding the hair loop -adjust the hair length by tugging on the tag end and snip it off Thanks Mike, I'm happy I could finally contribute something for the team but I am looking to upgrade that entry. -Brian
  23. Great report Mike, glad you made it back safe and sound. That's one heck of a load on your van!! -Brian
  24. Glen, you bought the wrong ones.
