MAXI - MATE tackle box... where can you get them?
SlowPoke replied to irishfield's topic in General Discussion
I know where to get Special Mate boxes. Does it have to be the Maxi-Mate? If these are okay, I can pick one up for you. -Brian -
Congrats Brandon! I bet you got more for your photo than that guy in the foreground! -Brian

For and against Water separator/Fuel filter

My Mariner should be fine. The foam doesn't have a chance to settle before I use it all. -
Yikes Clive! I hope you've been cuddling your sweetie to stay warm! It hasn't been nearly that bad here... even with the windchill maybe -20 at worst. -Brian

Joe, there is a sympathetic ear in the halls of the Ministry for employees like this. Before taking disciplinary action you should consider spending a lot of documented time trying to rehabilitate this guy. I threw up just a little in my mouth while typing this but if you teminate this guy and he goes the "wrongful dismissal" route, he can claim that his tardiness and behaviour was supported by your inaction. That's what you get for being a good boss. If he's been late everyday for a year without recourse you may need to wipe the slate clean... Example: In writing... A one year probation 3 lates in a month - warning 5 lates in a month - suspension 10 lates in a month - dismissal Start over at the beginning of each month. This should be more than reasonable to anyone and displays a willingness to rehabilitate. I hope this clown is worth it! -Brian

jj, not everyone shows up 8 hours early for work and sleeps in his office. You're just weird! -Brian

You know that uneasy feeling you get when you get home from work and your house is surrounded by cops, fire trucks and an ambulance? Fortunately (for me) it was on the street behind my house. I pulled in the driveway and my wife was waiting for me at the door. She was awaken by the sound of thunder and a flash lightning - or in this case, the sound of mid-size car snapping a hydro pole off at the ground and the flash of hydro wires contacting eachother. How fast do you have to go to snap a hydro pole off at the ground and leaving the top 10' or so still connected to hydro lines? The pole was erected behind my neighbours yard and the broken section is resting peacefully behind my yard. The car came to rest probablly 200' past the pole in a deep drainage ditch. Sorry about the poor images... my "good" camara is undergoing a factory recall. I don't know the condition of the driver but it appears he "walked away" because from my wife's vantage point from the bedroom window she noticed the medics were checking somebody and then left. I believe the driver may have still been on scene because I saw a non-cop collecting contents before the wrecker took off.

If he has not been convicted he will be scrutinized for admission into Canada the same as yourself.

Great job Cliff, just keep Bly away from it with the auger. -Brian

No pictures eh? Are you sure it wasn't an Atlantic Salmon?

Just a reminder to stay warm today and be prepared. Pack an extra blanket or a coat. Also consider a candle and something to light it. I spent almost 7 hours on the side of the road last night. It sucked but at least I was prepared!! -Brian

LOL Sinker, I probably would have overlooked the gunwales if I had the $40G... just trying to make myself feel better! -Brian

That's a valid point but I can only remember one time picking up the phone and not being able to dial out. I am on Rogers Home Phone after switching from Bell to Sprint and Rogers took over Sprint. Rogers keeps calling to try and switch me to thier phone/cable setup and I keep saying "no thanks, I'll stick with the old phone lines." We have cable/internet outages weekly and whether I notice when the phone goes down or not I can assure you it's not on a weekly basis. -Brian
-
If I switch to VOIP how do I call and complain when my cable and internet goes out? In my lifetime I can count on one finger how many times the phone has been out. I'd need the better part of one hand to keep track of cable outages in the last month. There are some services I don't mind paying extra for. Unlimited local and long distance Canada/USA for $50 $62.34 a month is fine by me. -Brian

MTP, when you figure out how to catch 'em you'll love fishing as much as he does! Congrats Mike on your new addition. I think Oli has his eyes on a cute waitress! -Brian

Very nice boat! I looked very seriously at that model but opted for a 1987 Starcraft instead for two key reasons; 1: Starcraft had wider gunwales 2: Starcraft was $40,000 cheaper You will certainly be riding in style this summer and many to come. Congrats! -Brian

Congrats on the new ride but please don't become one of those insufferable Lund owners... even sail boat owners think they are snobs! -Brian

Does Raycroft get the start against his old team? -Brian -

I'm not buying into the money arguement - maybe in the old (pre-cap) days but not now. I've also heard enough about the Teachers Pension Fund. They're entitled to make money and don't you think they wouldn't mind a few extra playoff game revenues? Of course! This isn't about complacent ownership, it is about inept ownership. Unfortunately we can't fire the owners. This team is happy to spend up to the cap and obviously have no qualms in over-paying management and coaching staffs. I have no doubt in my mind that the team would benefit from a hockey minded person given carte blanche. They have the means to attract the right individual but who in thier right mind would want to work for such a meddling group of power-hungry owners. Well, Colangelo took the plunge with the Raptors. Time will tell whether that was the correct decision. In the meantime, I'd be surprised if JFJ gets to see more than another week with the Leafs. -Brian

A lot of these guys are stuck with stock that they paid a high exchange rate on. Sometimes they guy behind the counter can only go by the price in the book or the owner is waiting for a sucker so he can recoup his loss. I'm sure Jos in Woodstock is sitting on a ton of product that he will have to take a loss on or it will collect dust... like his muskie lures. You're absolutely right Ger, do your homework!

I'm sure Tony can stomach the '08 interior colours and sleep very well at night knowing that waiting a year will have paid for his "boathouse". By the way Wayne, you needed that boat... that Glastron was holding you back! -Brian

You're in luck! Here's a deal on a little aluminium (frame) with an electric motor... http://www.zenncars.com/specifications/specs_index.html But you won't find it at the boat show! It's had rave reviews at the Detroit Auto Show. It's a shame they're not legal across Canada considering they're Canadian made! -Brian
