Thanks for posting Chris, unfortunately I have to work. For those that have not experienced Burwell, it's outrageous. Even for those that know the channel, it's a crap-shoot at the best of times. There are some areas I would estimate as being less than a foot deep but you can't see bottom even at that - it is so silty. I know of two people that lost motors after launching from Burwell (speedtroll & icefisherman). While it could be debated whether or not the conditions had anything to do with it, I'm not taking the risk with my boat. It's a shame this port is in such a poor state. Ebay dispute resolution works but it's not as smooth as PayPal and they have a limit on payout because they eat the cost. Policies may have changed over the years but I made an eBay claim for a digital camara 5 or 6 years ago and the sent me a cheque for $250US - the limit. I was still out the difference plus shipping.

2 weeks is not unreasonable if customs has selected it for inspection. Canada Post won't know anything about it until it arrives on thier doorstep. Wait another week before freaking out. Wait a second, you're a yankee! No customs involved. Start freaking out. Follow directions from the Paypal Website under "Dispute Resolution". They will advise you to work with the seller first but don't let the deadline pass to intiate a dispute. -Brian

That's a bummer Wayne. PayPal is usually pretty good and as long as you meet the deadlines you'll get your money. If the seller can not provide a tracking number, he is on the hook for it regardless of the shipping method agreed upon. If he does have a tracking number and it's deemed lost in the mail, he's still on the hook and has to do the insurance legwork himself while PayPal reverses your payment. By the way, you paid too much for that box of spoons! -Brian

Getting back to the topic at hand (sorry Lundguy), I've never fished with my wife other than a few minutes off the dock. I'd like to get her out this year but I suspect she'd enjoy reading a book on the bow moreso than chucking lures. -Brian

I don't know anything about that peticular reel but I will say one thing; the lower budget reels of today are arguably better than anything produced 10-15 years ago when we were paying hundreds of dollars for one. It will undoubtedly give you years of service. -Brian
