Great summation. I have an 11'6 as well and it's a fun rod but I wouldn't rush out to get another one. If you get something substantial taking a run the best you can do is hang on. The rod will flex all the way down into the handle and you better hope your reel doesn't fall off! If you do float with it, you'll feel every hit but it's a tough rod to set the hook deep. -Brian

High initial investment and ongoing maintenance costs would be reflected in the prices. By comparison, LeBarons is still "the little tackle shop around the corner". -Brian

If you went in with a plan you could have been out in 5 minutes but at least you had a chance to browse and almost meet some OFC'ers! -Brian

Spicoli, Frampton, Plant... all good but you guys are missing the obvious. Dee Snider

I would be less concerned about horsepower and more concerned about weight. Judging by the waterline in the picture, a 40-50 4 stroke might be a bit heavy for the boat considering the 50 2 stroke sits as low as it does. Check the weight of your current motor and compare to the 4 stroke models.

The Huet move was a shock to me at first but after thinking about it and listening to the radio hacks, it does make some sense... -Gainey may have made the trade to free up cap space for more trades... Hossa? Richards? -Huet is as good as he will ever be. He's not a 22 yr old player getting better, he's 32 with little upside. -Habs won't do any worse without him - unless Price is injured. There's the risk. I think Gainey rolled the dice in anticipation of other moves and fortunately for Hab fans, he didn't beat the Pen's offer for the likes of Hossa. -Brian

Well done Benny, congratulations! -Brian

Here's a thought.... give me the anchormate... lol Okay, consider this... Anchormate with 150' Danforth anchor with 3x100ft and you can tie on 100ft at a time when needed. That way it's easier to store the rope and you'll have plenty when needed. This will allow you to anchor front and rear when conditions allow for it... Anchor from rear with Danforth, use bow mount trolling motor for positioning (calm days) Anchor from front with Anchoremate or Danforth (rough days)
-
I thought you were going to give the Anchormate to me! hehehe By the way, wrong link.

I wouldn't recommend hanging the boat from your rafters.

Easy to do, hard to explain. I used to do this for a living many moons ago. You need to jack, block and move a little each time. If you have room to block the boat up at the rear of the trailer, behind the rearmost trailer crossmember it is an easy job. If not, that is the first thing to establish. Park the boat where you want it. Jack and block at the rear at both corners. Jack and block towards the front on the keel Pull the trailer ahead as far as you can Relocated the blocks as necessary until you're done

London Fishing Show and Mini-Swill Saturday February 23 **Noon-1PM** Flying J Travel Plaza - Highbury Ave. South of the 401 I was going to hook up with a few members before the show and thought this might be a good meeting place. The "J" serves breakfast all day, regular menu, salad buffet and a daily buffet. You'll have to wait for the fishing show to get cotton candy for the kids. For those who haven't been, it's nice show. Lots of tackle shops and boat dealers and some lodges. I don't recall seeing any big Manufacturer displays or seminars. There are no bank machines inside but that might give you an excuse to go across the parking lot to the casino. Lots of free parking Adults - $10.00 Seniors - $8.00 Kids - $3.00 -Brian London Boat, Cottage and Fishing Show Directions: Flying J to Western Fairgrounds

Practical first, fashionable second. Example: Ugly Salty rod holders mounted on sexy Bert's tracks mounted on my ugly Starcraft!

I would estimate 30-40 times in 2007 and that was my best year. For 2008 I hope to top that with some more shore fishing/river walking. -Brian

I wouldn't trade Tlusty, Strolman, Kaberle, Steen I wouldn't start Pogge, start/rotate Clemenson/Raycroft and keep Pogge with the Marlies for another year. I stated trading Toskala would insure last overal and a shot at 1st overall. Deep draft this year from what those that know the game say... any pick 1-5 is solid, perhaps even a franchise player in 1-3. I don't have any trouble keeping Toskala but I can't see making any headway at the trade deadline with anyone else. If Toronto is in rebuilding mode, they might as well tank in goal until they build a good enough team for Pogge in the '09-'10 season.
-
All this talk about Sundin, Tucker, McCabe and Kaberle and thier no-trade deals... Shouldn't Toskala be trade bait at the deadline? -He's been probably a top 10 goalie for the last 2 months -He has a contract, not a rent-a-player -He has given his team a chance to win every night since early December. Nobody mentions him moving yet he's been the hottest Leaf in the last 2 months. If they're going to blow this team up they might as well cut him loose and insure a last place finish and a shot at 1st overall pick.

Better than the update is a manual engage. It gives you the option of 2-Hi, 2-Lo, 4-Hi, 4-Lo. 2-Lo has handled every ramp I encountered last year and the steering doesn't bind! http://www.4x4posi-lok.com/
-
It could be the actuator if it's the thermal style. It's way cold out there and may not be heating up enough to engage. There are several systems on 4x4 Chev's, need more info... Model? Electronic 4WD?

why is a boat steering wheel on the right?

I'm somewhat uncomfortable knowing that you have spent time pondering my appendage. -
He had my keys Wayne. That's how good of a guy he is, he didn't take off on me!

The only thing that frightens me about a tiller is getting it mixed up with the rental boats at a lodge. -
