Having driven a 2009 Civic for several months now, I have to say I'm not all that impressed. It's very small and feels very cheap compared to my former company car. I never thought I would miss my '05 Malibu Maxx (it had a few of it's own issues), but I do. The Chevy was much more spacious, had a much better stereo, much more fun to drive powerwise and just more luxurious all the way around. The Honda is very tight for space, my buddy is rather large and can barely fit into the passenger seat, his head almost sticks out the sunroof, the factory stereo sounds like crap, the thing is a gutless wonder and sounds like a sewing machine and the car feels altogether cheaply made. Even the mileage is only slightly improved, I would have expected better since the motor is only half the size (1.8L 4 cylinder compared to 3.5L V6). To be honest, I was expecting better with all the hype about the Civic...

It'll be interesting to see how the Kawartha levels hold up this year. Right now on the Tri-Lakes we are at a good summer level. Last year, within a week after ice-out (which hasn't happened quite yet, any day though) the water came up at least another two or three feet above what it is right now. This is from April 9 last year: That's normally not a floating dock...

I would think that using any edible portion (ie. fillet) of a sunfish or perch for bait would be illegal. Technically, it could be construed as wasting the meat. Any other parts (ie. eyes, skin, etc.) would probably fall under the category of "fish parts" and be OK for bait.

I towed and launched various similiar sized boats for years with a mini-van. I never really had a problem (excepting the first time I launched at the rough ramp at the end of my road, that required a tow-truck), but after 9 years now with a 4x4 pick-up, I wouldn't want to use anything else anymore. Nothing worse than arriving at a rougher looking ramp than expected and having to wonder...

A 150 on a 1650 SportAngler? Do ya think you may be a bit overpowered?...or worse, to heavy at the back end? That boat can't be rated for anymore than a 115 I would think.

I for one might make my first ever fishing trip to Rice this year. Unfortunately, I'll be one of those damn, day-tripping locals not spending a dime on the lake (except to launch maybe).

From what I understand, Pike season opens in most places while musky is still closed. Why should the Kawarthas be any different?

What's the max HP rating for the boat? I have a 1600 Angler (2004) rated for 75hp with an 84" beam and a hull weight of 860 lbs. I have a 70hp 2 stroke on the back and that works fine but certainly isn't crazy fast, maybe 37 or 38 mph fully trimmed on smooth water. I don't know how the boat would perform with only a 50, you want to get as close to the max as possible.

I fired my boat up in the driveway this weekend. Ready for the ice-out and early season crappie fishing. Parts of Pigeon look to be almost ice free, won't be long...

You should have 0V from the neutral side of the circuit to ground (any ground, including any copper plumbing and metal fixtures) and 110 - 120V from the hot side to both the neutral and the ground.

The die-off was actually two years ago, maybe even three, I can't remember anymore. You would think it would be seared into my brain after the trauma of hauling several bloated, rotting carcasses to the dump. In any case, the population did survive, I'm sure the carp fishing will be as good as ever.
