  1. Went and looked at some land on the west end of the lake. The water looks really weedy but it was hard to tell how deep it is. Anyone spend time on this lake? People seem to say decent things about the lake but I can't tell if it's deep enough to dock a boat
  2. I plan on giving it a go for lakers but was hoping to get into some good walleye and pike
  3. Heading to herridge lake lodge in 9 days. Can't wait. Gear is gathered and ready to pack. Lol. I've searched this place in posts but if anyone has anything to share that would be great. Post report when I return
  4. the last few weekends, I've had an open seat on my boat. I can't guarentee that I'll put us on fish lol but I've been looking for a partner in crime the last couple of weekends. I usually get out on sundays. I live in Brooklin and normally hear to the Kawarthas. PM me if you want to wet a line sometime. cheers

  8. thanks for the feedback guys. I can always count on this site for some things I didn't know existed
  9. hey everyone. Been off OFC during the playoffs but now its time to come out of my basement, BTW..... GO HAWKS!! another happy day. anyway...lol my normal fishing trip is cancelled this year as no one else can go. I was looking for a drive or fly in on the eastern end of ontario. The only real catch is that I'm going alone so safety becomes a concern. I've done the search and there are some great lodges taht everyone has been to but I don't see much in the way of accomidations for one. Any suggestions (besides make more friends lol)?
  10. Great stuff thanks again
  11. thanks gents I've done remote up about 5 hours NW of Thunder bay and was thinking fly in might be in order good heads up on land locked. We had a similar experience where we met some guys that had flown in and they were upset that we found a much cheaper way into the lake
  12. buddy of mine and I are looking at doing our first ever fly in trip. We both live east of TO and are looking for something remote but North East ON. Anyone had any good experiences or make any recomendations? I don't just want to google a place and decide from that. any feedback of where to go or where not to go would be appreciated. like to target walleye, pike and smallies mostly but wouldnt turn down laker action I'd really like to go somewhere remote and not run into a lot (or any) people. thanks!
  13. I picked up a dehydrator at the outlet mall while passing through barrie. Cost me like $30 and I use it a couple of times a month. I've made moose and beef jerky, dried fruit and dried herbs works like a champ. Should have got one sooner. you really can't get much easier
  14. only lived here 5 years but am glad my wife turned me on to this Canadian tradition. i can only imagine how big of a part of everyone's life this must touch
